Mysterious booming noise rattles Ontario neighborhood

March 22, 2012 – ONTARIO – A neighborhood in Barrie’s northwest end was rattled Tuesday night when a “sonic boom” brought residents out of their homes. Rob Higgins and his two sons were watching TV around 10 p.m. when a loud noise, described as jet plane breaking the sound barrier, ripped through the Wallace Drive home. “It was like a loud sonic boom. When I went outside, numerous neighbors came out to see what happened,” Higgins said. “No one could see anything. Some people said it sounded like a major car crash.” At least 10 neighbors were on the street looking around in curiosity when Higgins and his family were surprised by the sound. “Originally, I thought it was some huge thing was thrown at our house. Not a car, but maybe a big barrel or something large,” he said. “I went outside a realized everyone heard something and it couldn’t have just been our house.” Barrie police said there were no calls for service in the area at the time or reports matching a loud sound.     We hear the booms, and feel the ground shaking very often, and in the late night while lying in bed the foundation of my home seems to have a almost unnoticable trembling that comes and goes; My wife finaly said she felt it the other night. Been going on for the past year. Central Ridge Fl. area!
    The questioned I’ve asked and the answers recieved are similar – “we don’t know the source”

    What intresting is how the sounds seem to have a north western relation; which is consistant with the aquifer. “It is under all of Florida as well as large parts of coastal Georgia and areas of coastal Alabama and South Carolina”

    There are also in the news as of late these booms reported in S. Carolina, and are common.

    They keep taking the oil in the ground not a good thing it leaves the ground very unstable to open up . It also puts the earth at risk to heat up very quick because there is no oil to stablize the earth and keep it cool .Money only matters people don’t that is the governments greedy ways.

        You may have many reason for no tliking Obama but you must be sensible he is the least of your worries.     If you look at the real time magnetosphere simulations for the times reported for the booms you usually see anomalies. What everyone is hearing is probably the snap of the magnetosphere rebounding from whatever caused it to deform.

      I heard it in gilbertsville Pa 3/26 8:15 AM My dog started barking so came outside. First I thought someone was riffle shooting and I was hearing the echo. (boom)

    I think that they really do not know the cause because it is the trumpets of the Apocalypse and scientists do not believe in God for the great majority. Some humans are more attuned than others to the world of Mystery, whether they are aware of it or not, and thus experience those phenomena more readily, while in some regions, the Earth and the Angels do not hesitate to force everyone to notice them. Let’s brace ourselves and embrace it all.

    I woke up around 1:30am to make a routine trip to the Men’s Room. I went back to bed and could hear the NASCAR neighbor over on Gaelic Place revving his engine, preparing to take off like a bat out of hell, heading east into the Matthews/Mint Hill area. As I was drifting back to sleep, I began hearing a series of odd noises outside the house. The sounds were very much out of the
    ordinary. After the first sound that was louder than normal, I got up and looked out windows in each room of the house and saw nothing unusual. I went back to bed and a few minutes later, I heard a noise that sounded like something bumped the house and roof. It was very noticeable. I never felt afraid or scared but I tossed and turned the rest of the night. There was no weather activity occurring. Other than the sounds, it was very quiet. Having lived in this house for 23 years, it was very unusual.

      in February 2012. I posted that on this site under a previous posting. The hit was so hard,
      I actually went up into the attic and checked for damage.

    Now report came out today saying it was an earthquakes causing this problem. I agree to a point, this is not just an earthquakes but there not saying it, to cause a thunderous booms can be but only one explanation, Earth tectonic plates.. Meaning the plates below Wisconsin is breaking up bits by bits and other places. The earth is shifted, until the big one hit.

    Lol, 2 people in this entire thread seemed to have had a clue what they were talking about. Most of us are here because we heard a strange noise, and offer no explanation because we simply don’t have one. The ones who are doing the commenting are retarded lol. It’s the trumpets of the Apocalypse? -.-

    The reforming of the magnetosphere seems a perfectly plausible explanation to me, especially considering the evidence presented of the real time imagery.

    I won’t claim to know what I just heard, I thought it was a plane, but it kept disappearing and then coming back. It didn’t sounding like a sonic boom, or an electrical snap, or even particularly loud.. just like a large plane going over head, repeatedly.

    I’m also in Barrie, though I’m on the opposite side of the city that this article was reported in.

    I live in Greenwood Indiana and my wife, oldest son and myself keep hearing this weird booming noise as well. Since the begining of June is when we all started noticing the sound. I agree with many this is not thunder and honstly seems to reverberate from the ground (maybe sky) but, I am begining to worry. No one seems to be able to identify the source and it is being reported at least across the US. This is 2012 one would think with our technologies we would be able to figure this one out.
