4.2 earthquake rattles Hungary

January 29, 2011 –  BUDAPEST – A 4.2 magnitude quake shook parts of NE Hungary. The quake struck at a depth of 8.3 km and was 33 km NW of Székesfehérvár and was 6 km NE Oroszlány. There were no immediate reports of damages. Below, you can see the seismic band width running through central Europe is one of the most pronounced regions showing agitation from the latest planetary tremor. The quake comes on the heels of an earthquake swarm in Bulgaria and a growing sinkhole in Romania.
