Hayward Fault: major earthquake in San Francisco could happen at anytime

Hayward Fault
July 2015SAN FRANCISCO Panic has erupted throughout social media, as earlier reports stated that San Francisco will experience a major earthquake “any day now.” The story came out after a 4.0 magnitude earthquake on the Hayward Fault rocked the Bay Area on Tuesday. A U.S. Geological Survey scientist said that the fault is expected to result in a major earthquake “any day now” and advised Bay Area residents to be prepared, according to CBS San Francisco. The story quickly picked up on Facebook and became viral, spreading panic on social media and fear among the Bay Area residents. The story was apparently sourced from the local news wire Bay City News, which reported that “while a 2008 report put the probability of a 6.7-magnitude or larger earthquake on the Hayward-Rodgers Creek Fault system over the next 30 years at 31 percent, Brocher said the reality is a major quake is expected on the fault ‘any day now,’” SF Gate reported.
Tom Brocher, research geophysicist at the USGS Earthquake Science Center, set the record straight and clarified that a major earthquake can hit the Bay Area at any time, not any day now, as there is still no way to accurately predict when earthquakes will occur. “The Hayward fault is capable of producing a major earthquake at any time, but there is currently no scientific basis for making a prediction for when that earthquake will occur,” Brocher said. Brocher said the Uniform California Earthquake Rupture Forecast model has predicted that a magnitude 6.7 earthquake or greater may occur in 30 years along the Hayward-Rodgers Creek fault system. The model’s prediction is at 31 percent probability.
Bay City News corrected its report, at Brocher’s request, to read “Although the fault that produced a 4.0-magnitude earthquake in Fremont this morning is not expected to change the likelihood of another major quake on the same fault, a U.S. Geological Survey scientist said a major earthquake could happen at any time and residents should be prepared,” according to SF Gate. The last earthquake on the Hayward Fault occurred on Oct. 21, 1868 with a 6.8 magnitude. It was one of the most destructive quakes in the history of California, even though the Bay Area at the time was not as densely populated as it is today. Scientists said in a 2008 USGS Fact Sheet that the fault is “a tectonic time bomb, due anytime for another magnitude 6.8 to 7.0 earthquake.” –HNGN

Some distress over this and the jury is still out over this.
We live in a world of change and it seems to be getting ready to change for the worst right now in regard to earth changes. I think some type of personal/family prepareness is in order. what is somewhat alarming, is that some believe a major event here would affect other faults all the way to the East Coast.

HAARP is causing the earthquakes and the storms in California and around the world. This is not my opinion but proven fact, not to mention that Halliburton was exposed for placing explosive charges deep along the fault line when they were Fracking there years ago. This is the planned destruction of the US and yes it will happen but men and technology will be responsible not God.
There are a lot of HAARP type facilities located around the US and surrounding islands, not to mention the mini HAARP facilities called nexrad and Doppler radar. These thing heat the atmosphere and strip the ions and cause storms and in sequence can steer storms.nplease do some research and learn the facts before you discard this information.

  4. There are some who have had dreams or visions of the Golden Gate bridge collapsing because of a huge quake and I have heard a couple of people say that the geography of the region will change significantly. The earliest one I found was by Michael Boldea, grandson of Dimitru Duduman. He and two other frienda scattered across about 600 miles have the dream at the same time. I think one person mentions that the huge California quake would actually be initiated by a large asteroid slamming into the Puerto Rico area and it would somehow make an unzippering effect through to the New Madrid fault and cause a major earthquake around San Francisco CA. doing incredible damage. The thinking has been that it would happen with Israel being split into two separate states. Jesus does mention that the day would arrive when men would be fearful of the waves of the sea. All we can do is be prepared as much as possible spiritually…Eventually we ALL die and then the judgement day.

joseph, i hear what you are saying… in the TEP Dream thread there are even more stories of similar dreams based in the Bay area. i feel this has to mean something and i will keep watch with you

      • Thanks Yellow Bird! Here is something really interesting…Puerto Rico and all the Virgin Islands have been ringing like a bell with about 10 earthquakes per day for weeks now.
This has been mostly along and near the Puerto rican trench north and N.E. of PR.
Just a few days ago an earthquake occurred EXACTLY where the man stated the comet is to hit which is just to the west of PR near a tiny island. It was only about a 2.7 quake but still…kind of weird if you ask me.
