Dark Ages: Space weather expert has ominous forecast

I have been having an ongoing argument with a friend of mine, about the possibility of another ‘Carrington Event’ taking place within our lifetime.
He dismisses this possibility and dismisses my concerns, as unwarranted negativity and a ‘doomist’ scenario which won’t happen.
I sure hope, that we don’t get to find out for sure. 😐

There is plenty of main stream information on this subject now, by academia and technical experts. One in particular, which finally brought my stubborn left brained, overeducated engineer hubby around was from a journal he subscribes to: IEEE Spectrum http://spectrum.ieee.org/energy/the-smarter-grid/a-perfect-storm-of-planetary-proportions. Remind your friend that he should not fear the truth nor should he be frightened about being ridiculed like so many conventional thinkers are. Tell him to be brave and think outside the stupid box-so many of his kind are making like difficult for the enlightened 🙂

There is a one in eight chance of a Carrington Flare event happening in your lifetime if you are under 40 years old.
Calculated by solar physicists. A Carrington level event will be quite extreme. The reality is that a Major flare and CME does not have to be as large as the 1859 Carrington Flare to cause widespread problems. The odds of a lesser rated flare still doing major damage are much less than one in eight.

Does anyone know what kind of timescale we’re looking at before this potential storm hits?

Spectulative at best. The solar max is supposed to be between 2012-2013 but solar storms can happen years before or after a maximum. The Carrington event of 1859 occurred before a maximum.

No. I even inserted Future scenario into the piece exactly because, as it was written, I didn’t want people to think there was one.

As we all know, there will not be a Carrington Event, nor will their be any catastrophic earthquakes, major tsunamis, no weather changing volcanic eruptions, no climate change of any kind, no shortage of fresh water, no catastrophic release of methane, no changes with ice at the poles, no changes with the Gulf Stream, no global pandemic, no global economic meltdown, no WW III, no use of nuclear weapons…………….. everything is good and these things only happen in some other place and time. Go back to American Idol.

I’ve actually heard this theory put forth several times lately, and it seems it’s really only a matter of time before something extreme like this happens.
I think NASA knows that something like this is probable in the next year as the sun ramps up it’s activity during what is basically an extreme solar weather season, but instead of spending the money to reinforce our power grids, they just tied them all together so they would go out like lights on a Christmas tree and spent the money on phony wars and other tools of enslavement.
Seems to me that if the goal is to make us all serfs again, then sending us back to the dark ages for a little while would be good for the agenda.

I know just what you mean, nickko. It’s as if we’re in two different realities (and of course we are), there is no “convincing” anyone of anything. I am left with, maybe when things happen, they will believe it. I think to keep our prayers going and Peace in our own hearts is key, and let things unfold as they will.

We can’t predict what the sun is going to do. NASA is not able to predict a single XClass flares. We are an electric dependent society and if we do have another Carrington level solar event in today’s society I think it will be a life altering event.
LikeLike
That’s what I am getting at.
To say that a Carrington Event today would be a ‘life altering’ event, sounds like an Understatement.
It’s more like a COLOSSAL understatement, given our dependence upon the energy grid, Internet, and electronic processors (computers and servers), in this day and age.

Just like the building of the Tower of Babylon, because it symbolized knowledge and power, we humans take pride of our achievements to the point that we challenge God. Listen to people saying “hey, we’re in the modern world” or “we’re all high-tech”. With one blow from the sun, God destroys everything. We are at the tipping point and heading for a speedy decline. Try to spread the truth that we’re living in a stressful and unhealthy environment, and that we’re heading for chaos, people on average won’t listen.

Good point, Alvin.
So, ON TOP OF having to worry about electrical grids and electronic ‘transit’ of data going “off-line”, possibly for a long period of time……. We also got to worry about (spontaneous?) wars breaking out.
On an ‘economic’ level, I can understand it and it makes sense, seeing as how trade and commerce would be affected/disrupted in TODAY’s world, if another Carrington Event took place.
But, there was no Electrical Grid or E-commerce back in 1860, and if countries still freaked out and went to war back then….. Imagine, what would happen Today. 😦

There are already many threatening wars, but with another event like Carrington, would be disastrous. What if the defense military’s computers were knocked out? They wouldn’t know if their enemies computers were knocked out also, no radar to foresee attacks.
We know there will be more, the bible says so (without the scientific explanation). One of the seven trumpets says ‘The sun was given power to scorch men for five months…’
Physically, the Carrington event just gave the world an amazing aurora light show, but there was no electrical devices in 1859.Another event like this would bring us back in to the 19th century, plus a lot of useless artifacts that used to has a purpose..

Very interesting… Sometimes I would like to see a world without technology. The problem is too many people would die from massive power failure and the nuts who would go crazy without technology. My onion and potato patch would be decimated by my crazy neighbors… =( We do not use a lot of technology, other than our cars, lights, gas, and computers. Our life would not change that much. We have wonderful trout fishing around here. The biggest I caught was a 19 inch rainbow trout. I love walking and can walk anywhere I need to but then again walking to work would be dangerous and getting my lawnmower there would be risky. Including bringing back the meat from the park where I work as a groundskeeper. Someone would snatch it for sure. I have an old fashioned rotary lawn mower, it does not need gas! LOL I also have a gas powered mower and can use the equipment at the parks department. Makes things easier for sure but I do not need them.

Well, a lot on the plate for sure. Israel this past week reported that war with Egypt was sooner than later. Syria is moving a large amount of short range scud missiles to Turkey’s and Israel’s Borders. Russia has already declared itself the Defender of Islam. The Department of Homeland Security is expecting the US Dollar to flop this year and a civil war to break out. But, I would not stop stocking up on batteries, matches, food and water filters as needed. I would not worry about a solar storm because when it does come or does not, our speculation is not going to change anything. With everything that is happening in our world, being prepared and flexible is important.
Don’t get anxious. Noah preached for over 700 years I believe and still people did not believe. Each one of us that comes to this site or has been coming here knows that Alvin has warned us of these pending changes in the earth and heavens. There is not a whistle that will sound to signal the start of massive earth changes because these ongoing events is like a hot kettle of water sitting on a stove burner and coming to a boil. All areas are heating up, economic, social and environmental and it is possible all three areas may break down at the same time. And when these things happen, many people could perish. Be ready……..
Just my opinion………………

It just may turn out that a solar storm isn’t what takes out the electric power. This guy says that it’s “100% certainty of catastrophic failure of energy grid within 3 years” due to computer hacking into the power grid. We’re vunerable on all fronts!

check the Novenber 4 2003 event , intitaly estimated as an X 28 event – but later on some Australian sciencetist recalculated it to an X 48 flare. The event happened just behind the sun`s vestern limb, if this flare had gone of just a few days before we would have had a Carrington in 2003. There is nothing special about the 2012- 2013 solar max – only that so far the sun have been unusual quiet.

If you take God’s Word as a literal truth, than something will happen to take us back to the horse and buggy days. Remember John described horses in the battle of Armageddon. Just like crossing the river to get the troops there, a modern army would not need the river to dry up to get across. And if you are thinking John had no way to describe a modern army, he could have easily said large horseless chariots (but he didn’t) in fact at one point he event uses the horses bridle as a measuring point. (Rev. 16:12, Rev. 14:20)

We can be 100% certain that a damaging CME will do some form of damage in the quarter century time-scale but we cannot predict it yet. The big ones seem to occur around the peaks of quiet solar cycles e.g. now, and the next cycle in about a dozen years time.
The particles take >12 hrs to arrive after we see the flare of light on the Sun so we’d have plenty of time to shut down grids and power stations. At home all you have to do is unplug everything from the wall including phones, and rip out your fuses at the metre-board.
We may lose some satellites but in theory it shouldn’t be too much of a drama.
Where I live, lightning and tree damage to power-lines is common so I have a generator and an in-put socket at the meter-board so I can power-up the house.

The world survived in the past just fine without the grid. It can do it again. But pre-grid the population was about 1 billion. Expect the same number if we go “post-grid”.

The group from the past that survived just fine with out the grid grew up under those conditions. Most folks under the age of 25 today could not go a day without playing a video game. As for the population going back to 1 billion, not likely as there is close to 8 billion now 1/4 of that will perish as a result of the Seal judgments leaving about 6. Another 1/3 are lost during the Trumpet judgments leaving 4. The only unknown variable in the population equation is the number of True Believers that are caught up to meet Christ in the air.

Camaalus/Camulos wasn’t strictly a sun god he was a sky god!

Much the same in the Celtic pantheon maponos. The sky often meant the heavens in Celtic mythology & was all encompassing, including the sun. For example, Don, she was the Welsh Celtic goddess of the Heavens, Air, Sea & the Moon.

When you say Celtic which era are you referring to here? Don was a mother goddese and daughter of mathanwy but it isn’t clear if these were actual God/essess or just heroic stories made up during the medieval period they only appear in the mabinogion.Don herself may originally come from the celtic DanuI I wouldn’t pay too much attention to this dieites because they are heavily influenced by classsical and biblic stories..The original celtic had long been lost. The (supposed) moon goddesss in welsh is Arianrhod.

maponos – There are literally thousands of Celtic Gods & Goddesses, not including the ones who have been lost to the mists of time & their names & roles varied from region to region, not necessarily the era, & yes, believers know that these stories are nothing but the imagination of Monmouth, de Troyes, Wolfram von Eschenbach & due to the abnormally high level of Christian propaganda included in his work, Robert de Boron. These works of literature are nothing but a 12th Century Harry Potter, the positives are that the Old Ways & Religion, even though it was completely bastardized, were not allowed to die out. It survived the scourging. Certainly by the mid to late medieval period the old Gods had been demonized & it was extremely unwise to be seen to be worshipping any but the White Christ.
I used Don as an example for why Camalus is also known as a God of the sun & should have said she was ONE of the many Celtic Goddesses of the moon, I could have chosen from many & maybe written Anu, Ceridwen, Rhiannon, Arduinna, Blodeuwedd & yes, though she has never been my favourite – Arianrhod.
Celtic mythology is filled with tripled or triadic deities & is also deeply and persistently polytheistic – it is regionally rooted. Celtic deities are almost always tied to particular tuatha or perhaps to regional sacred sites – springs, wells & ancient trees. The journey to the Goddess is a long & deeply personal one, I wish you light & blessings upon yours.
Peace
