Vivos races to build bunker network around the world

July 21, 2011 – AUSTRALIA – Brisbane residents concerned the end could be nigh may be left out in the cold (or extreme heat) if a doomsday scenario strikes the earth, with the Queensland capital deemed unsuitable for underground survival shelters. According to Vivos, the American company that constructs the bunkers, “about two dozen” Brisbane residents are among “hundreds” of Australians enquiring about spots in massive underground bunkers that can house 1000 people for up to a year to ride out Hollywood-style disasters. The company is considering building bunkers in Australia if enough people are willing to cough up between $10,000 and $50,000 (kids are half price) for a spot in the airtight, fortified dwellings that feature libraries, private rooms, food supplies and even their own jails. However, Vivos has bad news for Brisbane residents hoping to be on the safe side of the wall when things get ugly. “We prefer inland and high ground to avoid the impacts of a mega-tsunami,” a spokeswoman said via email. “Unfortunately, the highest ground in eastern Australia is within 100 miles of the coastline. More catastrophic events in the meantime will undoubtedly accelerate that as more people connect the ‘dots’ and realize we are living in very vulnerable times,” a company spokesman said. If disaster holds off for long enough, the company also plans to build two shelters in Europe, taking the network’s total capacity to 6000 people. Bunker capacities would range between 100 and 1000 people, with prices more expensive in smaller shelters. And the more jumpy among us are keen to lock up spots by late this year when Comet Elenin is tipped to rattle earth with a high-speed flyby that has many concerned about the effects its gravity could have on Earth. “Our government sources from around the world have alerted us that they have been preparing for this for decades,” said the spokeswoman. “Nobody knows if the threat is real, other than the ‘government’ of course, and they are not telling presumably to avoid mass panic. When you connect the dots, it is clear that it is time to prepare – just in case.” –Brisbane Times

I do not believe these shelters are adequate to protect people from a wide-variety of unforeseen catastrophic threats, particularly those of a hazardous biological nature or if a catastrophe permanently creates an acquatic reservoir over many of these shelters.
