Japanese islands still reeling after 7.4 quake and massive aftershocks

December 22, 2010 JAPAN – Massive buckling of the faults are now occurring within this seismic zone as more than 65 large aftershocks fails to alleviate fault tension or settle the obstructing lithosphere plane.  When the tension snaps and one faults dominates the other, there could be a catastrophic release of energy that could endanger the surounding area or could potentially shift other plates resulting in quakes in other parts of the globe.  This region is very dangerous and unstable.
