Marine die-offs accelerate across the globe – and no one seems to know why

ELE Marine Die Off
May 2016MARINE HEALTH – 35 tons of dead fish washed up in a lake in China. A researcher with the Haikou Oceanic and Fishery Bureau, Lu Yongliang, said the fish came from the larger Nandu River, and were swept into the Hongcheng Lake with the tide, where they died from the sudden drop in salinity. The saltwater fish are not meant to thrive in freshwater; more water is forced to enter their bodies from the freshwater lake, causing their blood vessels to rupture, Chinese researchers explained. Despite the experts’ statements, the public has been skeptical and are speculating that the fish have died from pollution.
In August last year, tons of dead fish rose to the surface in Tianjin port, after they were poisoned by cyanide in the water that was 277 times beyond the acceptable level. The cyanide had come from two massive chemical plant explosions, which tainted the water with toxic chemicals. Authorities in Tianjin, however, explained the dead fish as a salinity change. City workers in Hainan have been busy removing the fish from the shores and bagging them for incineration plants and landfill sites. –AOL

Mass die-off: Millions of dead creatures litter Chilean beaches

Fish Kill A

Compared to other countries, Chile is almost all coast, and that geographical fluke means that the country is known for its beautiful beaches. But that reputation may be on the wane thanks to a new sight on Chilean shores: dead animals. Lots of them. Heaps of them, in fact. As Giovanna Fleitas reports for the Agence France-Presse, the South American country’s beaches are covered with piles of dead sea creatures—and scientists are trying to figure out why.
Tales of dead animals washing up on shore are relatively common; after all, the ocean has a weird way of depositing its dead on shore. But Chile’s problem is getting slightly out of hand. As Fleitas writes, recent months have not been kind to the Chilean coast, which has played host to washed-up carcasses of over 300 whales, 8,000 tons of sardines, and nearly 12 percent of the country’s annual salmon catch, to name a few.
At least some of the damage to fish appears to be due to fish farming, which encourages toxic algal blooms. But as with so many strange sea phenomena in the last year, El Niño, which warms the equatorial Pacific, appears to be at least partly to blame. The warm water brought on by the phenomenon put stress on coral reefs near Hawaii and appears to have delayed the arrival of whales to the islands. Meanwhile, off the shores of Chile, the warm water appears to have provided great conditions for toxic algae. The blooming creatures poison fish and other marine life that eat them, and this year the bloom is blamed for losses of nearly a billion dollars among Chilean fishers.
Algae also suck oxygen from the water itself—a change to which Pacific Ocean creatures appear to be particularly vulnerable. In a newly published paper in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B, researchers warn that declining oxygen levels worldwide kill animals, but that the diversity of life in the Pacific Ocean is at particular risk. That long-term danger isn’t helped by algae that blooms in response to short-term phenomena like El Niño.
The rising tide of dead animals is raising health concerns, as when thousands of squid washed up on shore earlier this year. At the time, reports Latin Correspondent’s Steven James Grattan, health officials were criticized for not clearing coasts of about 10,000 rotting, dead squid sooner. –Smithsonian

Millions of dead fish wash ashore on Vietnamese coast

Fish Kill

Millions of fish have washed up dead along a 125-kilometre stretch of the Vietnamese coast in one of the communist country’s worst environmental disasters. Soldiers have been deployed to bury tons of fish, clams and the occasional whale that began dying in early April along the north-central coast, including some popular tourist beaches. Vietnamese officials facing growing anger over the disaster have not announced the official cause of the deaths, which have affected the livelihoods of tens of thousands of families. Some officials have suggested it may be toxins or algal blooms known as red tide.
But Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has ordered an investigation into how a Taiwanese-owned steel plant received approval to pipe waste directly into the sea. Formosa Ha Tinh Steel, a unit of Tawain’s Formosa Plastics, is looking to raise its investment in the area from $US10.5 billion ($14.2 billion) to $US28.5 billion. The company’s executive vice-president, Chang Fu-ning, said the steel plant’s treatment system had received all appropriate approvals. “It’s beyond doubt,” he said. Mr Phuc said his government is determined to track down the main culprits with “objectivity, honesty, prudence and urgency.” –SMH

Thousands of fish die in lake in Bolivia still a mystery

Fish K

Thousands of small sardine-like fish have been found dead in Lake Alalay, but no one is completely sure what caused oxygen levels in the lake to drop so dramatically. Thousands of dead fish have washed up onto the shores of a lake in Bolivia.
Just before they died, some of the fish had just hatched from their eggs in Lake Alalay, in the central Bolivian city of Cochabamba. No one yet knows the number of dead fish, but they have stockpiled five cubic meters (177 cubic feet) so far, so it’s possible there is over a ton of dead fish in the lake. –Telegraph

Looking for causes for the mass die-offs

China Fish

Piles of dead whales, salmon and sardines are washing ashore in Chile as the El Niño weather phenomenon warms the normally frigid waters off the coasts of the Southern Cone nation. Chile, with its 2,485 miles of Pacific coastline, is particularly susceptible to El Niño’s whims, and thanks to the warmer waters a “red tide” of algae has decimated much of the country’s marine life.
Chile is the world’s second-largest producer of salmon and the surge of algae has choked an estimated 40,000 tons of the fish in the Los Lagos region. The red tide also has been blamed for some 8,000 tons of sardines washing ashore at the mouth of the Queule River and the thousands of dead clams that washed up on Chiloe Island.
“We think that a common factor in the deaths of creatures in southern Chile, in the salmon farms and in fish off the coast, is the El Niño phenomenon,” the Chilean fisheries institute, IFOP, said in a statement, according to AFP. The current El Niño “has been classed as one of the most intense in the past 65 years,” the IFOP added. –Fox Latino

I live on the Puget Sound. One of the most beautiful attractions were the many many seastar/starfish, lavender, pink, etc.
GONE for the past 3 years!!! I have only seen one, a year ago, and it was a bright orange and misshapened. We had a newspaper article that talked about species die off and the warming of ocean as a cause. First of all the die off is usually species specific, not ALL!!!!!! The article NEVER even mentioned Fukushima!!! It seems as though there is a news blackout not only in Japan, but in America as well. We’re on our own!!!

Pumping extremely highly radioactive water from trying to keep fuel rods cooled that have melted clean thru the bottom of the containment vessels, does not dissolve to a safe level, not in our lifetime nor your great, great, great, great, great grand children’s lifetime. There is no give and take- only take , and take. Lets be crystal clear, until Fukishima is resolved from pumping water into the oceans, you will see all marine animals, fish, and the entire food chain DECEMATED to EXTINCTION level. You will continue to see Moose and bears in Alaska disappear in a astonishing rate. Bears eat salmon, bears are now eating radioactive salmon , moose are digesting radioactive vegetation in the marshes and are dying/disappearing at a astonishing rate. Don’t blame it on global warming, at least temperature wise. Its global glowing. You can thank the Japanese electric company for their unprecedented Greed for putting Multiple nuclear plants on one of the highest earthquake prone fault line without the slightest clue of a workable contingency plan of containment. Fact is they should have Never been built. They created the environmental Godzilla that cant be bombed into hibernation or banished to a single island as the B movies portray. Last I know zoo’s don’t raise animals for human consumption, But a mass human starvation event in on the horizon. This is a easy puzzle to solve. Force TEPCO pay criminally and financially for the clean up, No bankruptcy possibility. Stop the denial that everything is all right over there. Every other person has fess up their mistakes , they should also.

  4. Ex 7:19 – 21 kind of rings a bell similar to what we are seeing, once again, only, this time worldwide. Perhaps, it is time to fix, or leave ‘Egypt??’ Better yet, Turn your heart to Jesus/Emanuel, and be assured of not needing a cleansing in the wilderness that approaches, like Travail of a woman, upon all mankind. AMEN

  5. Thank you Alvin for continuing to keep us updated on these apocalyptic events of various sorts. I am wondering though if anyone has checked into whether some of these fish kills along the Chillean coast may be originating from toxins and or heat from underwater earthquakes and volcanoes allowing adverse chemicals and heat into the normally cooler waters?
Have you heard anything regarding this possibility? Thanks!

I have a feeling that we might be close to the tribulation. I think that maybe that 7 year peace treaty will be signed somewhere around, or even before, this November, between the Israeli’s, and the Palestinians. This will bring on the 7 year Tribulation period, and this should be just an inkling of what we can expect at that time:

Revelation 8:9 “And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died;”

i wonder how anyone besides the Creator will know when that mark has been reached. but perhaps there is a cut-off at that point, but not that the destruction suddenly levels off and ceases…
earth is in free fall allready

perhaps, it is at that point that HE arrives and says ENOUGH

Well, well…perhaps you don’t know yet, but there well be a “MAN” that will fool people with his fascinating power, while standing on this earth!

Rev 13:13 And he doeth great WONDERS, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the site of men.
13:14 And DECEIVETH them that dwell on the earth by the means of those MIRACLES which he had power to do in the sight of the beast….

AND, if you or I, make it to the middle of the tribulation (that is 3 1/2 years into the 7 years), he, SATAN will proclaim himself GOD!! AND he’ll bring peace to the whole world. Now, with all his tricks and foolery, will YOU believe he’s god? I hope not!
This is the MAN that you will have to worship, by taking a mark for, to buy or sell (that means, no food, unless you take his mark), and if you do take the mark, you will receive hell for it, and that’s no pun there, it means, literally.
I would suggest that you get closer to God, or you will be taken in by this demon, as our true God says that even the “elect” will be fooled by him. And that’s saying something. That’s saying you better get tight with our Lord, or else!

God will NOT be coming on, or standing on this earth…He says he will be coming in a cloud:

Luke 21: 26-28 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Also, we WILL know when the time is OVER to receive Jesus in our hearts, and that is….WATCH for a 7 year peace treaty between Israel and Palestine. When you see THAT happen, that’s when the 7 year Tribulation starts, and that will be the beginning of the end. Find someone, or go online and find a website that will help you understand Revelation. One site I like is http://www.endtime.com. You can sign up for their newsletter, or listen to their radio shows, and they keep archives of their shows too. They explain prophecy pretty good. I don’t agree with some things they say, but a lot, I do. All the horrors that are coming to the wicked, the evil, and the unbelievers are told in that book with the Seals, The Bowls, The Trumpets, and so forth. Some say that all christians will be gone before the Tribulation, that God will take them, before all the horror starts, but I myself, don’t believe that. I believe our faith will be tested at that time. No one really knows when the Rapture happens. Hope all this helps you!

Top 10 Most Dangerous Religious Beliefs!!!
        http://freedom-articles.toolsforfreedom.com/top-10-most-dangerous-religious-beliefs/

Most people think that salvation is by Jesus plus nothing, which in their mind means nothing, just type up words or copy/paste Bible quotes behind a screen, acting as if they are judge and jury on how the world turns around. They are usually a waste of time, a lazy and cunning servant that Christ gave a talent and they hid under the mattress. Christianity is being eradicated where it originated from and they think Christianity is what they watched on TBN, etc.
People nowadays are more fascinated in Antichrist and/or Satan! 😛
The Churches are in a state of falling away and most of what was sold to the masses is comfort gospel fantasies. In the end the rude awakening is by fire and refinement and the righteous will prevail through persecution.

    The Best Choice Is:
Drop a planned, controlled, low yield, ground burst, nuclear bomb on the site.
That stops and changes everything. It is dirty, yes. Had it been done early on
the oceans would be a heck of a lot cleaner than they are today.

A different choice and a good one, might have been to use Scalar Technology.
    a) Explode a given nuclear device in a controlled place…even underground
such as the US Nevada Test Range.
    b) Project the full effects of that controlled blast to the Fukashima site.
Same result stops the problem, cleaner enviromental impact.

The above suggestions are well within the worlds science community to agree on.
Nuff said. No further discussion on my part!
