18 Indonesian volcanoes on alert status

August 7, 2011 INDONESIA – Eighteen Indonesian volcanoes are on “alert” status, two of which are at Alert Level 3, which is called “Siaga”, the Volcanology and Geology Disaster Mitigation Center says. Center head Surono said Sunday in Jakarta the erupting Mount Lokon in North Sulawesi and Mount Ibu in North Maluku were the two volcanoes at Siaga status. The center has adopted four levels of alert status: “Normal” (Level 1), “Waspada” (Level 2), “Siaga” (Level 3) and “Awas” (Level 4). Surono said the conditions at Mt Lokon and Mt Ibu were currently considered most worrisome because they had been consistently erupting searing clouds affecting a radius of 2.5 kilometers. He added, however, that the eruptions had not yet endangered people living around the volcanoes. “The eruptions are heading west, while people are concentrated in east,” he said as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.  Surono added that 16 other volcanoes were at Level 2 alert status, “Waspada”, including Mt. Papandayan and Mt. Guntur in West Java. “Locals have reported several quakes,” he said. Surono said that President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had summoned him on Saturday to report the volcanoes’ status and the center’s preparations to anticipate possible disasters. He said ideally there should be an expert monitoring the activities of each volcano in Indonesia, as is the case in Japan. “Currently an expert handles five mountains.” –Jakarta Post

And a different plot of El Hierro.

A somewhat “cantankerous” plot to put together.

Using a point near the summit at El Golfo, and looking only at the quakes in an arc from 330 to 350 degrees, plotting the depths vs range from that point.

Over lain with an average terrain profile and subsurface contour line for that quadrant.

Old quakes in gray, todays quakes in red.

Same graph, but rescaled to approximate 1:1 elevation and distance aspect ratio.

I didn’t realize that the values were close enough to try and pull that off.

This will give you a better idea of how stable/unstable the slope might be.

Everybody, Someone who’s a christian believes we’re not in the Last Days and that there’s nothing unusual with all these events. Wow. I didn’t know what to say.

Just a thought about being or not being a Christian. Many people read or have read the Bible who do not claim to be Christians. Many things written in the New Test were not written by Christians (most of Revelations not written by John the Beloved). One does not have to be a Christian to see what’s goin-on. Non-Christians do not have a monopoly on eyes wide shut. People are just people. Best to leave religion out of it. Some see, some do not.

Glenn, My point exactly! Words from John Moore. Alvin, we know the government has been preparing for THE END for decades with bunkers and they’re running the economy into the ground and spending money like there’s no tomorrow because they know there’s no tomorrow. My question is, what are they prepping for? If there’s no Planet X and Elenin is not a threat then what did/do they see as the CAUSE for what’s currently happening and about to happen to the planet?

    • It doesn’t take a planetoid or comet to end life on this planet has we know. We are doing a bang up job so far ourselves. We posses enough nuclear weapons to destroy the world 25 times over. We have more debt than we can pay in 100 generations ($211 trillion total U.S. say economists) and about 1 in 21 people in the world are walking around with a sexually-transmitted disasese in their body. Malnutrition is running rampant. 1.1 billion people lack access to clean drinking water and 2.4 billion lack access to proper sanitation. Droughts are worsening, temperature are getting hotter. Hypoxic zones are spreading in the world’s oceans. What are they perparing for? Reality to hit the world smack in the face.

The real question is ‘am i going to rely on someone else’s belief system to dictate what i choose to believe’ – the matter of the choice between life and death needs to be studied and evaluated individually because we won’t stand as a group in front of the great judge but individually. Everyone is being compelled to make a choice; one can help to guide or even influence, but the final choice to believe is up to the individual. One lives or dies by his own choice; whether to believe the mounting evidence or continually seek contrary views. It then becomes a matter of the heart and not of the mind and logical thinking whether to believe that there are major order of magnitude changes/shifts already underway. Thanks Alvin for the greatly anointed work you have been labouring at. Looking forward to reading the new edition of the book; as our family certainly wants to stay abreast of the updates to the contents of the first edition. God bless all at TEP!
