Lightning strike contributes to bullet train derailment in China- 35 dead

July 23, 2011 – SHANGHAI — A Chinese bullet train lost power after being struck by lightning and was hit from behind by another train, knocking two of its carriages off a bridge, killing at least 35 people and injuring 89, state media reported. The official Xinhua News Agency said four cars on the second train also derailed, but it did not say how serious that was. The first train was traveling from the Zhejiang provincial capital of Hangzhou when the accident occurred in Wenzhou city at about 8:30 p.m. (1230 GMT), Xinhua said. It said one carriage from the first train fell about 65 to 100 feet. Pictures on the Internet showed one badly damaged car lying on its side by the bridge and the second car leaning against the bridge after landing on its end. Xinhua quoted an unidentified witness as saying “rescuers have dragged many passengers out of the coach that fell on the ground.” The trains involved are “D” trains, the first generation bullet train with an average speed of about 95 miles per hour and not as fast as the new Beijing-Shanghai line. Xinhua said the train hit by lightning was “D3115.” It said the Ministry of Railways confirmed that it was hit from behind by train “D301. – MSNBC

This is a little spooky.

D3115 – D = 4 = 4 3 1 1 5 = 14
D301 = 4 3 0 1 = 8 together make 22

Japan = 1 1 7 1 5 = 15

Honshu = 8 6 5 1 8 3 = 31 (65 = 11 83 = 11)

Fukushima = 6 3 2 3 1 8 9 4 1 = 37 (632 = 11 8941 = 22)

15 + 31 + 37 = 83 = 11

As and when I have time I think I might do a little numerology research back to 2010 and 2004 and see if there is something special about 2011.

Marshallrn, I know what you are saying. I have used numerology in different ways for many years. But I was pointing out the occurrence of 3 and 8 in NZ. Although all the numbers don’t add up like you say, the sequences are there and I think they do say something. I just thought it was interesting, considering what our precious friends in Christchurch have gone and are going through.

Anything that might help people be prepared is worth consideration.

Steve, yes it was another very tragic accident and my heart goes out to all the families of those who left us. But it was not caused by human neglect that I can see.

Day after day we read on EP and in the news about people tragically dying from natural disasters or from human errors or misjudgment. We tend to reel them off, one by one. Not because we have no respect for the dead. More so just because of the fact that the living have to go on living. We as humans try to find answers to everything.

Marshallrn, to help you see through my eyes, the whole universe is inextricably? interconnected. Just like the computer network.

What does a landslide in China have to do with a landslide in Mexico. What does a sinkhole in Spain have to do with a sinkhole in America. What does an earthquake in Indonesia have to do with an earthquake in Alaska.

How often when doing one’s family tree do we find that one ancestor was born on the same day and month that another ancestor was married or died. It happens over and over again.

How often will you go somewhere, even overseas, and meet someone who knows someone you know back home.

It is one of the mysteries but a vital part of our universe that we cannot explain. I can assure you that it is not by chance but a true Master is at work.

inShare.3 The Communist Party Propoganda Department sent out clear instructions for Chinese media on how to cover the fatal Wenzhou train crash. Media outlets were supposed to focus on “stories that are extremely moving, for example people donating blood and taxi drivers not accepting fares.”

We were surprised to see an article on a popular Chinese web portal about a man who lost most of his family in the crash and who led a protest over bungled rescue operations.

Soon after it was posted, the original article was taken down by the Chinese government.

A translation of this article appeared on the blog ChinaSMACK. Here’s the article they don’t want you to read:

Man mobilizes over 200 friends and relatives to search for pregnant wife, calling into question [official] rescue efforts
In the high-speed train derailment accident, Yang Feng’s mother-in-law, sister-in-law, niece, wife, and his unborn child all died. On the 25th, Yang Feng donned mourning attire, and mobilized over 200 friends and relatives to search for his family as well as questioned the rescue efforts of the relevant departments.

Morning, Yang Feng and cousin began their search with the train cars on the ground, be found nothing. Then he climbed a ladder up onto the bridge and to get past many obstacles, he smashed through many glass windows, shouting “Chen Bi, Chen Bi!” His wife should be wearing a watch around her wrist, and a diamond wedding ring on her finger, both were things he was looking for. However, all the way up till 11am the next day, Yang Feng still not found anything.

Yang Feng used the phone to mobilize over 200 relatives and friends to help him search the various major hospitals in Wenzhou. Though he has not yet found his wife, his three relatives have already been confirmed to have died in the disaster. The fortunate thing is that his father-in-law had complained that the train was too slow and had gotten up to walk about before the accident happened, and escaped the disaster by virtue of being in the aisle.

It turned out that the #16 traincar that Yang Feng’s wife Chen Bi had been a passenger on was severely hit, she was disfigured, and as a result was unable to be identified.

Afternoon of the 25th, bad news confirmed. In the accident, Yang Feng’s mother-in-law, sister-in-law, niece, wife, and his unborn child all dead.

Afternoon of the 25th, Yang Feng appeared at the Wenzhou City 23 Middle Arrangements Site, wearing mourning attire. He says when he arrived at the accident site at 2am in the early morning of the 24th, “rescue efforts had been stopped, they said there were no signs of life”. However, the remains of his wife and mother-in-law were not found until the afternoon of the 24th, “My wife (at the time) was there below, why didn’t they rescue her?” Because his wife was unfortunately disfigured, Yang Feng tearfully asked: “Is this from the impact, or from the excavators?”

Yang Feng also said that just after the rescuers at the scene announced that there were no signs of life within the train cars, a little girl was found alive. If the rescue efforts had continued at the time, could his wife or other passengers still be alive today? A relative of Yang Feng said that they can do without the compensation but they request that the truth be restored and that they be given an explanation.

OK, what does this have to do with 11:11? This isn’t funny because I see 11:11 in waves. When it happens I see 1:11, 11:11, or just a series of ones over days, then it doesn’t happen for a while. At the downslope, however, I’ll start seeing 10:01, 12:12, and 12:21. Mostly happens with anything displaying digital time. My question is this: Does this happen to anyone else? If so, does it mean anything to you? Thanks

A long-awaited government report said design flaws and sloppy management caused a bullet train crash in July that killed 40 people and triggered a public outcry over the dangers of China’s showcase transportation system. A former railway minister was among 54 officials found responsible for the crash, a Cabinet statement said Wednesday. Several were ordered dismissed from Communist Party posts but there was no word of possible criminal penalties. The crash report was highly anticipated. The disaster near the southern city of Wenzhou also injured 177 people and had triggered criticism over the high cost and dangers of the bullet train system, a prestige project that once enjoyed lofty status on a level with China’s manned space program. Regulations had required the report to be released by Nov. 20. When that date passed, the government offered little explanation, drawing renewed criticism by state media, which have been unusually skeptical about the handling of the accident and the investigation.
