April 2016 – MINAMI-ASO, Kumamoto Prefecture (JAPAN) — For hundreds of years, the sacred Shioisha spring here has provided water for drinking and irrigation in this village in the shadow of Mount Aso. But the fountainhead, which gushed about five tons of spring water a minute, has dried up since the magnitude-7.3 earthquake struck the prefecture early on April 16. Its disappearance has local residents baffled. “I was absolutely flabbergasted to hear that Shioisha spring has dried up. It turns my world upside down,” said 95-year-old Natsuko Goto, who was taking shelter at an elementary school after the earthquake. “What will happen now?”
Shioisha spring is located on the premises of Shioijinja shrine. According to Sachio Hirose, the 63-year-old parish representative, there are many fountainhead springs in Minami-Aso, which has been dubbed “the village where water is born.” However, Shioisha spring is the one that has been worshiped by local residents as the sacred spring where the “god of water” dwells. Its abundant waters have been a blessing for local rice farmers.
Every year, the planting of rice seedlings starts at the beginning of May in Minami-Aso, but at the moment, there is no water to irrigate the rice paddies, casting a dark shadow over the village and its agricultural production. “The headspring had been gushing water out for the past centuries and sustaining people’s livelihoods,” Hirose said. “I can’t believe this is happening in my lifetime.” –Asahi

When the people turn back to Jehovah their creator and worship HIM instead of the earth which He created, then He will return to them abundantly and will bless abundantly.

Might be a good missionary opportunity. The Japanese might “Karate” you down for telling them the truth though. Bringing the Gospel can mean dying for your faith.

While it is a fact that most of Japan is a pagan nation, (I have lived and ministered there), how many Christians who are blessed to know Christ are on our knees praying that those precious souls in this Island nation come to know our Savior?

I am of the mind that God has indeed spoken. Water is sucked out in an ocean just prior to its influx in the form of a Tsunami and as with a huge over hanging tidal wave. This spring is from the earth, it too has been sucked out. This is NOT a good sign at all. Either something is due to explode due to the change of flow or the quake has shifted its normal flow through blockage, where its pressure will ‘Blow its lid’. A change such as this will build, it may flow else where or it will explode through, its coming.

AMEN! So true! What a horrible sample of non judgmental love for the lost that Jesus showed. Why do Christianettes always have to judge people. Is it a reflection of themselves under condemnation? Or some kind of merciless vindictiveness like the Pharisees? Please blog master, rein in your commenters, or block them.

I have been having a recurring dream of late about “lack” of water; taps and spigots release not a drip; ponds are dustbowls; lakes are beds of “shattered” mud, cracked and broken in the light of the sun; creeks and springs, where water once poured and rushed, are but stained, in the depths, in the shadows and hollows, by remnant drops. I wake, as I did yesterday a.m. to a thunderstorm, and think NOT of thirst but of famine.
“’What will happen now?’”
“A quart of wheat for a denarius; and three quarts of barley for a denarius.”
And just a thought regarding the “god of water” . . . whether we agree that Japan is “pagan” or not, we must bear in mind that, according to the Book of Acts, (chapter 16), on at least one occasion, the apostle Paul was FORBIDDEN to preach in Asia: “They passed through the Phrygian and Galatian region, having been FORBIDDEN BY THE HOLY SPIRIT to speak the word in Asia; and after they came to Mysia, they were trying to go into Bithynia, and the Spirit of Jesus did not permit them; and passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas. A vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing and appealing to him, and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us. ‘When he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them'” (Emphasis MINE). Why is this? I have no idea, so I defer to the wisdom of God while I consider that, perhaps, we should address the paganism that has infiltrated the church before we cast too many stones at anybody.
AND, without water, life on earth is NOT possible. Every living creature on earth is constructed of it to one degree (or percentage) or another; all living creatures NEED water to survive, and, so far as we know, ALL living creatures on earth CEASE to live without it (eventually)(but some frogs can go years without it)(cacti, too). A contrary is also true: with too MUCH of it, most creatures die, whether from drowning or insufficient salinity. Now, we are created from water, and if we may live through water, and if we also may die through water – as the “ritual” of baptism suggests; we die, are renewed, are reborn anew through water – it might behoove us to recognize that water is NOT God . . . but God IS the water.

Let me ask you a question please maybe I’m a bit ignorant. Who actually wrote the Bible ? Was it God ? No it wasn’t. There is no jealous God please. That would make him sinful just like we all are even you Bible thumpers. Another question ? How many Gods are there ? Every time the earth is destroyed, and it’s been more then a few times, does that mean a new God pops up with a different book telling us what’s going to happen or is it the same book everytime ? Seems to me it always happens the same way even when there were no humans to tell you what is going to happen ! Just saying

yes, and HE said “Test all these things, and SEE that they are so.” Our Creator never expects any to take Spiritual Revelations at blind faith… even if many times it seems the church makes the mistake of saying so.
SEEK TRUTH – there is only ONE Who Is The TRUE ONE, all with humble spirits who simply SEEK TRUTH will find The TRUE ONE allready waiting beside their heart’s door.
HE waits for ALL. HE is accessible to ALL. HE LOVES all the same.
