Ebola cases explode: 44 new cases, 539 deaths, doctors send out desperate pleas for help – whole villages infected

July 2014 DISEASE – Ebola continues to spread in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea, with a combined 44 new cases and 21 deaths between July 6 and 8, the World Health Organization has said. This brought the total in West Africa’s first outbreak of the deadly disease to 888 cases, including 539 deaths since February. It is the largest and deadliest so far, the UN agency said. “The epidemic trend in Liberia and Sierra Leone remains precarious with high numbers of new cases and deaths being reported,” the WHO said on Friday. Just one confirmed new case had been reported during the past week in Guinea. The Economic Community of West African States set up an Ebola solidarity fund at a summit in the capital of Ghana on Thursday in a bid to back a regional approach to the epidemic. Nigeria committed $3.5m to affected states. “We must do everything within our means and power to defeat this deadly disease. We must exercise vigilance and caution and avoid any panic or misinformation,” Ghanaian President John Mahama, the group’s chairman, said in a speech in Accra. Ebola causes fever, vomiting, bleeding and diarrhoea and kills up to 90 percent of those infected. It is highly contagious and is transmitted through contact with blood and other fluids. The WHO has flagged three main factors driving its spread: the burial of victims in accordance with tradition, the dense populations around the capital cities of Guinea and Liberia and the bustling cross-border trade across the region. –Al Jazeera

You can bet that the real amount of infections are two to three times official numbers.

    • Quarantine is the only effective treatment. The problem with this virus is has a long incubation period and it has a high mortality rate- 90%. Your chances of survival are less than 10% if you get infected. What no one is discussing is the chances for additional mutations with the virus from this epidemic. There are no vaccines, no cures…you’re basically placed in quarantine isolation waiting to die. Ebola is the second deadliest virus known to man. If it can’t be controlled in rural regions and isolated villages in remote regions of Africa, how could you stop it from spreading in major clustered urban cities in the West? If there ever was an outbreak in the West, we would run out of places to bury the dead. Remember the Spanish Influenza of 1918-1919 killed 50 million people and it only had a mortality rate of 2.5%. Granted Ebola doesn’t have the transmissibility factor that influenza and coronoviruses do yet, but that could be enhanced through successive mutations as the virus continues to spread.

Let’s pray it doesn’t spread out of Africa because the consequence of it hitting a major Western urban city could be something close to apocalyptic.

Agreed fully……..With the availability of being able to be anywhere within 24 hours on planet earth, it could happen. it could happen from a person who is angry, as we have heard about people who were fatally infected with an STD and maliciously infect other people.

Also, note the posting regarding the report from Denver……

You said that Ebola is the second deadliest virus known to man… What is the first one? HIV?

      • No Rabies. Without treatment, rabies is 100% fatal and thus has the highest mortality rate for any pathogenic full-blown infection. There are only 6 known cases of people who have ever survived the infection, and only one documented case of anyone who has ever survived without a vaccine. And the only way she survived is by putting her into a drug-induced coma, which allowed her immune system to fight the rabies infection. The technique, known as the Milwaukee Protocol has failed in nearly every other case it has been tried.

There is nothing in the world of pathogenic infections that’s more dreaded than a rabies infection.

The NIH published a report titled “Broad Spectrum Antiviral Effectiveness of Humates”. The NIH studied humic acid’s virus-fighting properties for viral diseases such as gastroenteritis, influenza, herpes, chicken pox, mononucleosis and hemorrhaging fevers caused by the Ebola and Hanta viruses. Results showed that humic acid, when consumed before the virus invaded the body, was effective in presenting disease. Tests performed against multiple virus types further confirmed humic acids broad anti-viral properties. Toxicity tests showed that humic acid bound itself to human cells but was not itself toxic, nor did it inhibit or interfere with cell development or reproduction.
