Oklahoma rattled by 15 earthquakes

March 2014 OKLAHOMAThe U.S. Geological Survey has recorded 15 earthquakes in Oklahoma since about 9:30 p.m. Friday, the largest being a magnitude 4.0. The 4.0 magnitude quake was recorded at 10:05 p.m. Friday about seven miles south of Langston. Three other quakes of magnitude 2.9, 3.0 and 3.3 were recorded Saturday afternoon in the Medford area. The other quakes ranged from magnitude 2.4 to 2.9. No injuries or damage are reported. Geologists say earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest felt by humans. Scientists are studying why earthquake activity has increased in Oklahoma and whether it is connected to wastewater disposal related to oil and gas production — but have found no answers. The energy industry denies that the method is to blame for the increased seismic activity. –News 9

I just took a look at the OK quake map. In the past 7 days (up to 3/24/14), there have been 35 quakes in OK M2.5 to M4. That’s a lot of shaking for one state outside of CA.

  2. Deirdre says:

Was there some mention one time of earthquakes preceding tornadoes? (Trying to wrack my memory). It is late March…

  3. Dennis E. says:

I think a major earthquake is due that could divide the country

  4. Karen says:

All these events have already been recorded. Jesus Christ compared it to birth pains. Which means it will get worse just like birth pains do. Matthew 24:6-8. All the new viruses and illnesses like Ebola, Polio and untreatable malaria, nothing is new. These things must happen. The Passover is the only way to escape disasters.

Would like to see a comparison map of fracking well locations and quake epicenters.

  6. Tina Tenis says:

If you look at the statisticsfor the last couple of months this has been a regular occurrence for quite some time. I personally think it’s due to all the frackung going on in those same areas. The maps showing where they are drilling the most is where the majority of quakes are happening.

hi j2muw. check out a guy all dutchscince . he is into earthquakes and possible outcomes from fracking.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrIArUEJh4c
    that’s just one example…

also, there has been a earthquake swarm at Yellowstone as well, and the bison are leaving. what does that tell you?

    • Helen Britton says:

Drilling I don’t think is the answer. I grew up in Osage county in the 1930 & 1940 +years and the Osage county is known for its extensive oil drilling and fracking
