    I wonder what effect this is gonna have on US beef prices in an already failing economy. Not to mention the families that relied on the cattle to make a living now just took a big hit on their finances.

    Alvin, thanks for highlighting the sentence about ranchers being caught unaware.

    I’ve been reading other people’s comments on other sites, and they just don’t get it. The kind of preparation needed for a storm of this magnitude would be at least a week, if not longer. There really was no preparing for this though; not at this time of year.

    It’s a disaster in West River South Dakota right now, and those ranchers could really use our prayers!!!

    This is so sad and so devastating. It will take a couple of years for these ranchers to recoup their losses. And those poor animals, having no where to go. 😦
