Iran threatens widespread retaliation against U.S. and allies

September 11, 2013 TEHRANIran is ramping up its threats to the United States even as the American effort against Iranian client state Syria has ground to a crawl. President Obama made his case to the American people and the world community Tuesday night that Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad must not be allowed to escape the consequences of using chemical weapons on civilians as the two-year-long Syrian civil war drags on. Iran, a staunch ally of the Assad regime, is warning that any military action against Syria will cause a military and terrorist reaction on U.S. targets and allies. Despite overwhelming evidence from the horrific August 21 sarin gas attack that killed more than 1,400 civilians, hundreds of them children, Iran says it won’t sit idly by if the U.S. attacks Syria. For now, Obama said in an East Room address Tuesday night, he will delay any proposal to Congress authorizing a punitive strike if diplomatic efforts result in Syria agreeing to verifiable destruction of its chemical weapons cache. Obama warned that to not act against Syrian atrocities would give the green light to Iran to develop nuclear weapons and terrorists to use chemical weapons. But if diplomacy fails, unintended consequences could result from a U.S. assault. Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu both should know that all options are on the table, including the destruction of Haifa and Tel Aviv, should the U.S. attack Syria, Iran has declared. That blunt warning came in Mashregh News, the Islamic Republic’s official media outlet run by the Revolutionary Guards intelligence unit, in an alarming commentary last week. “Despite the analysis by some in the country (Iran),” Mashregh wrote, “the U.S. posture and its saber-rattling are just a psychological war against Syria. The fact is that the current military preparation of the (U.S.) enemy points to a military confrontation and today we are facing a complete security and military scenario.” The Islamic regime’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, on Thursday warned that America was sure to “suffer loss” should it attack Syria.  –Daily Call  (excerpt)

So what’s Obama going to do? Shut down our military so they don’t get hurt OR commit us to another war that he started!

He’s probably regretting all of his “Red Line” comments, and hoping that something will happen to pull his chestnuts out of the fire… Unfortunately, he now has to save face (after all, he was proclaimed to be the smartest man around and was going to solve all the world’s ills – something he apparently believes himself). Problem is, he’s totally out of his league against players like Putin, so I expect him to do sonething really dangerous and which will have dire consequences for us and the Middle East. Sincerely hope I’m wrong, but it’s not looking good…

What “overwhelming evidence”? Has anyone seen any? Most of the evidence points to the rebels using the gas, not Assad.

I don’t really reply to comments but I just have to say Obama came into this dealing with all the messes the previous president created. He has been trying to get our troops home and I truly don’t think this man is looking for war. He came into this with two wars. I don’t think anything he does will make a difference to people because people just want to blame. Were we really in Irac because they had weapons of mass destruction or was there another reason. I’m so tired of hearing people knock a man that I really believe does have good intentions. Irac my brother served two tours in and received a Purple Heart. He was wounded and now we know that we lost so many soldiers when there was no reason for us to be there. War is terrible and I believe we shouldn’t be in any wars, but to watch all those people die by their own government. All those children and now people don’t believe we should get involved. They gassed their own people. I just don’t get it Irac was ok but when Obama wants to help stop innocent people being killed by their government than he is the bad guy. Look I’m not happy about a lot of things the government has done but he is not this evil person and what is sad is no matter what he does its Always going to be the wrong thing in people’s eyes. It’s not a matter of being a republican or democrat to me because it all winds up being the same thing. I just don’t see how he could get the blame for so many things that had started before he became president. I’m just sick of hearing all the Obama bashing. There is so much going on in this world right now that I’m truly getting scared war, natural disasters, disease and instead of hating people need to just stop it. This is all insanity just my opinion. Alvin I found you 3 years ago and I am so greatful to be able to get the real news here. Everyday I look at least 2 to 3 times a day. I love this website and your book. I refer back to your book all the time when I see things ocurring and you are always spot on. Your amazing what you are doing for all if us. Thanks again!
