Kamchatka’s Shiveluch volcano ejects 4.3 mile ash cloud

June 28, 2013 – KAMCHATKA – Russia’s northernmost active volcano churned out ash to a height of up to 7,000 meters (almost 23,000 feet) in the country’s Far East, local Emergencies Ministry’s department reported on Friday. The 3,283-meter (10,771 feet) Shiveluch volcano increased activity in May 2009 and has been periodically spewing ash from three to ten kilometers. “Considering the direction and the force of wind, the cloud of ash moved to the southwest and dissipated without having reached residential areas,” the department said in a statement. Although the current eruption poses no immediate threat to nearby settlements, the ensuing ash fallouts could be hazardous to health and the environment. The clouds of volcanic ash could also pose threat to air traffic because the tiny particles cause problems with aircraft engine turbines. There are more than 150 volcanoes on Kamchatka and up to 30 of them are active. –RIA Novosti

I don’t recall that there’s ever been so many volcanoes active at the same time. It’s feasible that we’re starting to feel the effects of passing through the galactic equator. Similar to a the effect on a whirlpool in motion passing through the earth’s equator… it would continue it’s motion by centrifugal force for a short while, but eventually begin to adjust to the reversed rotation associated with the other hemisphere.

I never expected anything to happen on exactly 12/21/2012 — but thought that it’s effects would gradually become more and more violent for centuries thereafter. Things that I’ve been looking for haven’t really fallen in line as I had expected though. I would have thought there would be large, violent earthquakes for starters. However, there hasn’t been thus far. I would also expect the other planets to be experiencing some abnormal weather (volcanic) also. Especially the larger planets.

Perhaps it’s too early to tell, but I am concerned that the increase in volcanic activity around the globe could be related. I noticed that one of the GEO scientists was quoted as saying they can’t explain the increased activity (at that particular volcano — Alaska I believe).

  The galactic plane is not well defined but our solar system oscillates about the “plane”, going out of it to a maximum and then descending back through to a maximum below in around 64 million years. We are due back to the plane in another 30 million years or so.
  
  Actually, it is believed that it is the extremes in our oscillation that poses the greatest risk to our humble planet.
