Twin moderate earthquakes strike region of Eastern Uzbekistan

May 26, 2013 UZBEKISTANAn earthquake with a magnitude of at least 6.0 struck southeast Uzbekistan on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. The quake was later downgraded to a 5.8 by the USGS. It was preceded by a 5.5 magnitude earthquake which struck 9km NNW of Buka, Uzbekistan, as a foreshock. The foreshock struck at a depth of 15.8 km. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage from either quake. –Reuters
