2013: the year of the comet – new comet discovery announced

April 28, 2013 SPACE – Comet TENAGRA: Cbet nr. 3478, issued on 2013, April 19, announces the discovery of a apparently asteroidal object (discovery magnitude ~19.6) by M. Schwartz and P. R. Holvorcem on CCD images obtained with the Tenagra II 0.41-m f/3.75 astrograph located near Nogales, AZ, U.S.A. After posting on the Minor Planet Center’s NEOCP webpage, this apparently asteroidal object has been found to show cometary features by our team. Stacking of 12 R-filtered exposures, 50-sec each, obtained remotely from Haleakala-Faulkes Telescope North on 2013, April 18.4, through a 2.0-m f/10.0 Ritchey-Chretien + CCD (operated by LCOGT), shows that this object is a comet: compact coma about 5” in diameter elongated toward PA 110. The new comet has been designated COMET C/2013 G9 (TENAGRA).  –Astro Watch

Is it perchance heading our way?

I’m sorry to say that the good Major hasn’t hit anything yet. He might be trying but no cigar.

  3. zombierocket says:

Ed Dames also firmly predicted end of the earth solar flares during the last solar cycles too… that never happened. He also predicted the Space Shuttle would be hit be meteoric debris… that never happened either. His accuracy rate is, shall we say, questionable.

this is exactly as described back in the 70s by a visionary veronica leuken–the sun gets struck and x.y.z. will happen–‘if this doesn’t get by the mod i understand as then the message board will change to one of severe arguing on theologies etc etc but at LEAST 1 person read it.

  5. Theresa Yap says:

Major Ed Dames hits may indeed be questionable. Dames did however have a hit when he remote viewed Fukushima. It’s not over until it’s over. Time will tell and time seems to be one of the biggest hurdles remote viewers face. Scientist’s are now suggesting this solar cycle will be a double peak. Again we will see. Until we are offically through the current solar maxim lets be nice and do some real homework of our own.
