This young new ruler is playing a dangerous game and whether he is only trying to impress some of his generals, who, in some instances, may have rebelled against him and some he may have had killed, he is putting the entire region and world at risk.
Current North Korean long range(three stage) missiles can reach Alaska not to exclude Hawaii (Pearl Harbor) and Guam.
I think it could get worst.

Hello, unfortunitely, I do not have a copy of your worthy book in my back pocket, but I would however like to know your thoughts about this grave concern (in this comment section). I would add, “nuclear” war is nothing to mess around with. I am the offspring of an atomic veteran and I have seen the affects of radiation exposure. Kim Jong Un could easily launch his nuclear payload. Thus, he would not be the first intolerable warmongering idiot to do so. We (The U.S. experts of mayhem and global interventionism) were the first to unleash radioactive hell-on-earth at the end of WWII. On today’s world stage — unless all of us are suffering memory loss — there is no moral justification to ever allow the A-bomb to be dropped again by anyone, anywhere. Heads of State need to holster their pistols, control their ferociousness for war, come together in peace without inflated egos and work this out. Bottom line, Instead of sending B-2 Bombers, Obama should be on a plane meeting with Kim to find a peaceful solution.

Vincent, I think it’s a very dangerous and potentially explosive situation. Dangerous; because it has long-term implications for even more instability in the region of South East Asia, potentially with the rising influence of China. North Korea may or may not attack, but whether it does or not- the fact is: its fundamental martial doctrine remains, it has an unknown number of nuclear weapons in its arsenal, and it’s a nation ruled by an untested dictator that is dangerously paranoid about his own country’s survival. I am by no means a conspiracy theorist, but the U.S. has a goal for the world; and it centers on the regional stability in the Middle East and elminating any potential threat from Iran. In many ways, there is no peaceful resolution to the current North Korean crisis because there is something grander unfolding here with long-term U.S. strategy to usher in a new world order of global stability- which means amputating the legs of Iran (the most powerful player). Notice how the dominoes are falling one by one. In case you’re wondering why Iran hasn’t been attacked yet, here’s why —

*Syria: revolution, civil war, and support for rebels in toppling of Assad
*Venezuela: Chavez dies of incurable cancer
*North Korea: Tensions rising on Korean peninsula (U.S. signs agreement with S. Korea, lowering its threshold for war)
*Iran: US confronts the Iranian nuclear issue, while pushing for talks about a Palestinian state

Wars are fought by soliders, but they’re planned by military stategists, long before the first bullet is fired.

Thanks for tuning in, and all the best,
        A.

Are these rockets loaded with nuclear weapons, or standard rockets? Obviously, one is worse than the other. Either way, still worried North Korea IS going to strike. Up until just a few days ago, I always blew off any warning or threat from North Korea, because they always have been all talk. This is different, very different. His father may have been all talk but this guy is young, wants to make a strong image of himself, prove himself to his people their country is strong, powerful, etc..by going to war. Thoughts?

Although with the track record of human anhialation these so called leaders of men have commited,I suppose anything is possible for the next cataclysmic human sacrifice.

Sadly this guy was brainwashed and groomed his entire youth. kim Jong-un is on a mission: suicide/genocide for his entire country. It is not likely he will achieve any long range targets, but he can cause sizable damage especially if he already has weapons in place and is sidelining his play of strategy. It is sad nations have so much hate other nations. Religions too.
It really should come down to the actual players to fight it out. How about Obama up against kim Jong-un? Not innocent people. And if it comes down to another- so close call…… It’s just a additional feather in the cap to the master plan to control the masses. Sure seems like a lot of close calls on many levels, situations and aspects around the worlds. Saved – just in the nick of time. On this particular situation; I hope so – but it makes you think. Either way- seems like the ordinary person looses. In both countries.

The time has come to take control of our own situations. Over the next decade we will watch the world we have all been raised by change into a world different from what we know. No humans will be able to avoid the change as it takes hold of our entire globe. A leader that holds no compassion for the people in which they are leading is very dangerous. This new young leader has yet to demonstrate at which the lengths he will go to prove himself. I close eye should be kept on this situation, and we all should begin to take control over our current situation both physically and spiritually. Bless all thoughs who suffer and those who use love and faith to move forward.

  13. yes we have a missile defense system. but i wonder if it will have the same troubles with these rockets as we had with the scuds in gulf war I. it would seem our missile defense system works quite well on modern, ultra-precise missiles. quite a different story when it comes to antiquated missile systems, which have a bit of a wobble to them, especially when in their downward trajectory.

If the US responds to an attack on its shores or allies with nuclear weapons, my main concern would be China’s response to a nuclear incident so close to its border and with NK an ostensible ally. NK is a small country – there’ll be damage/fallout to the US ally South Korea and/or to the big dragon to the north. Either way, it’s a no win situation for the US and the world. It seems as if once again, the principles of asymmetric warfare may cripple the world’s most powerful military’s ability to handle the situation. If all communication really has been cut off, then we’re in a very deep bucket of poo. While there is some form of communication happening, there is always the chance of heading off conflict – a truism that applies to international relations as well as interpersonal. My earnest hope for a best outcome is that the missile sites in NK can be disabled with minimal loss of life, without the use of nuclear weapons, and that the weapons targeting systems used by the US don’t have Chinese technological components in them.

Has anyone ever thought that it might not be a good idea to stage war games over this country’s territory? The threats are coming just after a ‘simulated bombing’ of North Korea by B2 bombers. Just because he is paranoid doesn’t mean that we aren’t out to get him. Let’s rein in all the military morons on BOTH sides, though it may be too late now.

    Hello,

One thing that the msm will not mention is that during the US korea war of 1950’s the US bombed every north korean city, town and village that was of any size to teach the koreans a “lesson”. North korea lost 30% of it population.
to put it into context in WWII the UK, France, Germany etc. lost around 2% of its population – and USA has the cheek to call other countries “axis of evil”.

Note: I in no way support north korean dictatorship ( i don’t live in the region and have no involvement )- but i cant help but think what the pschological impact of the US slaughter had on the north korean society and did this help the dictator family gain control.

It would be nice if the msm gave all sides to a story with proper context ( won’t hold my breath waiting for this change though 🙂 ) – because otherwise it is not possible for an “outsider like me to understand how a tiny country like north Korea could have threatened the USA for all these years, even before its nuclear tests.

I feel that the poor people of north korea were caught between the two superpowers and are still suffering – pray for the people.

Echo that. Recently, someone (I looked but could not find who or where) posted the first several stanzas of Yeats’ poem “The Second Coming”, including the lines, “The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity.” My cynical literature professor interpreted these lines to mean “The best have nothing to prove, while the worst have nothing worth proving.” It is self-evident that the US has the most “capable” military in the world, not in raw numbers but in technological superiority, and remains the only nation to ever unleash nuclear devastation upon an enemy, so what do we have to prove? Nothing. So why puff up like a peacock just because Kim does? Why not rather err on the side of caution AND dignity/restraint? Prepare defenses but do so without the fanfare. Where he exhibits a wealth of passion (and lack of control), we must not. Otherwise, in the worst case, we bear responsibility for all the ashes, not only because we invented the technology or because we gave them their first reactors, but because, by our own actions, rather than exercise diplomacy (and Dennis Rodman does not count), we escalated the tension

I’d disagree with your professor, I’d say it means “the best realize there is little if anything they can do to cause any change, the world is the way it is, because people are the way they are. You can try to help someone as much as you want, but nothing will ever change for them until they change. Imho, there is little we can do, but to be salt and light. and the worst are are full of passion, for they are evil, and the world is evil, how could they not succeed?”.

Whilst we should perhaps not entirely discredit all of North Korea’s threats, we should not take our eye off Iran either. Whilst North Korea’s leader might be planning something himself, he could just as easily be a vassal and perhaps even a cover for Iran. For sure Iran will be watching closely to see how the West responds.
Pray to God that no nukes are used in this ‘exercise’ by either side.
