Spreading? Mysterious tremors rattle homes in South Jersey

March 21, 2013SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY Just after 3 o’clock Tuesday afternoon residents in Atlantic, Cape May, and Cumberland counties say they felt multiple earthquake-like tremors that rattled their homes and offices. Absecon resident, Kay Stadlmeir, said, “I don’t think it would be an earthquake, but what could it be? It’s just really odd.” Somers Point resident, Bob Mower, explained, “There was a rattling of my windows and I felt the house shake just a little bit – it was unusual.” Stadlmeir told NBC40, “It has to be something really big to be witnessed in such a widespread area of South Jersey.” The reports vary from region to region. Atlantic county emergency management officials confirmed with the U.S. Geological Survey that it was not an earthquake. The next thought was that military training or an aircraft flying by might have caused the shakes. Both the 177th Fighter Wing in Egg Harbor Township and Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst confirmed none of their aircrafts were in the area at that time. Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst is still working to confirm whether or not any ground training was happening at the time, although it is unlikely that would cause such a widespread shake. Stadlmeir said, “I really don’t think it’s a sonic boom because, you know as I said before, I’ve experienced them before and this is nothing like that.” Mower told NBC40, “That was real unusual. I almost wondered if I was dreaming on that one.” After initial reports of the shakes came in, NBC40 put the word out on Facebook to see who else felt it. Immediately we received hundreds of responses from all over South Jersey. Concerned Egg Harbor Township resident, Oliana Collado, said, “I just think it’s weird because some people didn’t feel it and it’s like in random spots, and it’s very spread out. Yeah it was scary, but I’m just glad it wasn’t worse than what it was.” When we reached out to New Jersey State Police Headquarters, we were told that our call marked the first time they had heard about possible tremors and they were unable to tell us anything further. NBC40 will continue to investigate the cause of these mysterious tremors. –NBC40

I find it hard to even fathom that the ‘Military’ is going to admit to USA training flights or other activities above ground or under ground. Not to mention HAARP activity.

Couldn’t this be smaller meteors entering earth’s protective layer, then causing booms as they disintegrate? Therefore, nothing to be seen.

Hi Cara! Yes, that is possible but we have had some ground vibrations in South Jersey recently as well as explosive sounds and farther back that strange sound that would be like a jet thrusting so I think for the most part it is below the surface. It is intriguing. the largest rumble we had was from a quake that was centered in Va. I think other than that all other tremors have been 1 or less but something is going on! That’s for sure.

Whatever it is, it is nation wide and I am convinced that this is a developing major earth change event
of the likes we have never seen. It has been reported time and time again that the plates are moving against each other and I believe that what we are hearing in many cases is the result of stress being released from pressure. Of course you have mining operations and other underground operations.
It is like watching a stress test on a piece of metal, looking for the breaking point and listening to all the squeaks and moans of the metal as it is stressed.

That is just my opinion…….trying to be logical

Now, not trying to be logical………..
About 30 years ago I was watching a movie and the plot of the movie was that there were reports of earthquakes and strange noises in different places underground(I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP)and people reported missing.
Well as it turned out, The Chinese were digging tunnels to under the major cities in the usa to send an invasion force. In order for the investigators to determine the extent of the issue and to prove that this was actually happening, the entire country had to be brought to a standstill in order for placed sensors to work and of course in the movies they always do. The tunnels were destroyed once they found the entrances and America made safe, but it came to me when I read this post and of course all the comments made.

    NOBODY LAUGH……………

have a nice day……….and yes I am going to post his

This is interesting, I’m in South Jersey. Back on January 17th I heard and recorded an unusual vibrating sound. Last week there were booms in Western New York State, and this week in Southern Illinois, as was posted on this blog. These events are increasing steadily, along with more sinkholes, cracks and landslides. Meanwhile all the scientific community can do is shrug their shoulders. They either have no clue, or they have been told to keep silent or they’ll be killed just like the others that spoke up in the past. Best wishes to all, come what may. This world is richly deserving of Judgment, it a testament to God’s patience and grace that it has taken this long. But time has run out, apparently.

And of course, could all of this be a military or CIA Psych-OPNS designed to bring on anxiety,
panic attacks and stress due to worrying what is happening?

Why couldn’t it be an earthquake? We have tremors in New Jersey a couple of times a year. They are usually not strong enough to be felt though.

From here in Williston Fl. , I heard and felt 4 booms or explosions between 9:00pm and 9:25pm last night on 3/21/2013. So, here we have another strange loud explosion type event with different views and sighting from 2 different people.

    http://www.wcjb.com/local-news/2013/03/sonic-boom-may-be-fireball

Judy Hall from Bronson never thought she’d feel the effects of an aircraft flying feet above the roof of her home. “All of a sudden the noise just started rumbling louder and louder and louder and the house started shaking,” she said.
So up close and personal, she thought it was going to hit her house. “And there was a jet coming right over… It went right over those trees. Right at the tree top there,” she adds.
Her mother-in-law Margaret Hall, also saw it. She says that even though they do live in a less populated area, used for military maneuvers in the past. The intensity of this plane shook her. She said, “It was awesome! As a matter of fact the tears we’re flowing down my face.”
The halls aren’t the only ones talking about it. It’s a sonic boom that stirred all of North Central Florida. The Alachua County Sheriffs Office contacted Statewide Warning Point and was told that military exercises were responsible for the incident.
Their spokesperson, Art Forgey Alachua said, “I assume that it was a fighter type jet at a low attitude breaking the sound barrier and hence we have the big boom. I don’t think it was anything more sinister than that. I don’t buy into the conspiracy theories.”
However it appears there is a different explanation. James Albury with the Santa Fe College Planetarium saw exactly what happened. He said, “The people here in the gainesville region they heard the sonic boom because when i saw the fireball it was visible for quite a while and i even told my wife to get off her cell phone for a second and told her, ‘look, look it’s a fireball!’
Albury says he saw a meteor. And fireballs like that typically make two to three sonic booms before disappearing into thin air.

They’ve been happening again. Some what lower vibration but slightly shaking the house. Felt by multiple people here. Strange thing is I’m right by the national guard base and shortly after you hear their jets take off and they head out over the ocean. Been going on almost daily for the last several weeks. Maybe training??

Hi Carl! I live in N.J. near Camden and I felt a very light but distinct tremor while watching the Super Bowl. It was fairly late in the game but I did not look to see what time it actually was. It felt to me like it came from the NW as it passed through but not sure. It lasted no more than 2 seconds. Did anyone else witness this as well?
