10 volcanic earthquakes rattle Philippines’s Taal Volcano: activity increases in the last 24 hours

January 22, 2013 – PHILIPPINES – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said Tuesday the seismic activity of Taal Volcano in Batangas province has increased in the past 24 hours. Phivolcs Director Renato Solidum, Jr. said the agency has recorded 10 volcanic quakes from 7 a.m. Monday to 7 a.m. Tuesday. But Solidum said no steaming has been observed in the past 24 hours and water temperature at the main crater lake decreased from 31.7 to 30.9 degrees Celsius. The Phivolcs chief noted the volcano’s Alert Level 1 will be maintained as “10 volcanic quakes are still appropriate for a volcano that is under abnormal level.” He said that a volcano under Alert Level 1 means that abnormal volcanic activities are observed, though a hazardous eruption is not imminent. Since January 18, Solidum said Taal Volcano was relatively calm, with its seismic network recording “zero to eight” volcanic earthquakes in a day. –MST

Alvin, its me again. well, i am starting to observe the fact earthquakes and volcanos are getting frequent in the amount and magnitude. my question to you as the expert, what do you think could happen in 2013. from looking at the past i see many extinction level events, however, according to modern science it took millions of years. but, if you look at how long humans we have been here and how long previous species. to me something doesn’t match up to modern science. that fact that humanoids for some reason according to main stream science a 100,000 years to evolve into a intelligent conscious human. ok, my main point is where to draw the line when do humans actually figure out life isn’t about a day to day job, getting fat( i mean lazy and abundant of resources), and figure out we might need to get of this train wreck before we get thrown under the bus like the rest of the species. however, i attempted to ask my professor in physics, because if we believe we evolved then explain either bacteria has a conscious because it takes an observer to create reality or, we have always settled on earth. alvin, thank you for your work and time attempt to pick out my rant and turn it into an answer. good luck.

  Hi, Alex. There are a host of ills, many subsequent to what’s occurring now, that fall in a line that could pose even more ominous threats to civilization. If the trend of change progresses; we should expect even more catastrophic events to plague the planet from the deepening agitation of many systems like volcanism, geological faults, and the climate. I believe change can happen on the planet very quickly and we should at least embrace that as a possibility, when talking about massive changes that could befall the planet in the very near future. We live in a time, where all things are in a state of flux. The sea and ground are unsettled. The atmosphere is in an increasing state of commotion. The whole creation groaneth and travaileth. In the span of hours, cities can be consumed, islands can slip beneath the waves, and many of the world’s most enduring monuments, erected to the Age, can be relegated to ruins. The foundations of the planet will be rent asunder, the prophecies warn us. That suggests some very dynamic and tumultous changes over relatively short intervals. Both Hopi and Mayans legends tell us the planet occassionally goes haywire. Maybe that time has cyclically arrived again. We should not be planning on the planet’s fall, as much as we should be preparing to stand, when the world collapses around us.
