23 Responses to Israel mobilizes ground forces for an incursion into Gaza, after rockets fired at Jerusalem

    This is what I heard an representative of the goverment of Israel say today and he said that this threat (hamas) was going to die or be cut off forever. When I heard that, it was clear that there is going to be a ground assault with many dead and wounded and the Hamas will be no more.

    This could get real ugly and spread like a virus……………..

      >Hamas will be no more

      Does anyone have any idea how this can end?

      I mean, even if Hamas were destroyed, so what? Israel is surrounded by Arab countries where millions and millions of people have been raised since babies to believe the Jews are evil. The same population base that created Hamas surely will create something equivalent.

      How can this end? Does anyone have ANY speculation? Is there ANYTHING the world can do but watch this happen again and again and again forever into the future?

        The Bible says that the Gog-Magog war will go against an unwalled city (Ezekiel 38:11). Right now, Israel is not unwalled. The war that is coming up could be the prophecy of Psalm 83. After that, they will think they have no more problems. “If” this is that prophecy, Israel will win and think they will have peace. Of course this is just my opinion from my studies. I pray for peace, but there will no peace until the Prince of Peace comes. The only way “out” for the rest of us is to trust in Jesus.

        Read your Bible. It’s way ahead of the news. Damascus will become a ruinous heap. (Isaiah 17:1). Jerusalem is a ‘cup of trembling’ (anxiety) to all the nations of the world (Zechariah 12:3). Nothing is a surprise in the world today (earthquakes, tsunamis, hailstones, blood red rain, etc.) to any serious student of the Bible. God tells us history in advance – so that we may know His Word is true. But continue to deny … the world is an accident that blew up from nothing billions and billions of years ago ……

        Irene C and Steve, I have been studying Bible prophecy for 50 years and I concur with what you have said. We KNOW the prophecies are “incident reports” that our God Who sees the future has given to us in advance. We KNOW they will come to pass. Whether this is the Psalm 83 war or not, only time will tell, but, Irene, the players and the quotations from Psalm 83 are lining up 100% so far. I pray that God will preserve His land and people; and that His name will be glorified in all the earth.

    This further solidifies my theory that mission of Hamas is drawing Israel into a war in order to prevent an attack against Iranian nuclear facilities and to fragment support for the overthrow of the Syrian government.

    Israel deems it ok to assassinate ( murder) anyone it chooses in their sovereign lands yet it cries out of terrorism when those countries say enough is enough and respond in kind! Israel has occupied lands illegally since 1967 against UN mandates to return them to there rightful owners and constantly refuse to sign the nuclear non proliferation treaty and will not allow nuclear inspectors and yet jump up and down and complain to everyone of Iran’s nuclear program of who are signatories of the non proliferation treaty and have allowed inspections! Israel’s illegal blockade of Gaza and the humanitarian abuses of it’s citizens go’s unpunished by the world so it’s any wonder a people under so much pressure resist an unjust situation.

      Sorry to disagree with you, Samuel 24:24 clearly shows David bought The land at Mt Moriah centuries ago…it,s actually the Arabs who are from the line of Ishmael who are the wild donkeys of a people who are being misled by the devil to believe they think they own the land…read your Bible, if you dont
      believe Gods Word, He tells us all we need to know before hand, then why would anyone believe mans word?

      Ed, You need to go back, way back to study history. You are SOOOO far away from the truth and the facts! You will never find Israel attacking any nation. They have the right to defend themselves. First of all, Iran wants to wipe Israel off the map. Ahmadinejad made that statement over and over again, making it very clear. Even in his speech to UN. Here is a bit news for you…As far as Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, Muslim brotherhood and the rest, they consider Israel small Satan and US the big Satan. As far as they are concerned death to both. They will stop at nothing to achieve their goal. Do you know where Israel is located on the map or how big of a nation it is? Just in case you do not know let me tell you. Total area of the State of Israel is 7,951.6 square miles. A tiny speck of a real-estate, compare to all of the Arab nations that surround her with vast amounts wealth and land. The fact is the land never belonged to Arabs. Israel never occupied or currently occupying any piece of land that does not belong to them. That includes so called Palestine. Unjust situation?…You have NO idea.
      I can point this out to you because, I was born raised in that part world, and I am not Jewish. Maybe you can tell me why Hamas, Hezbollah chooses to hide among civilians? Since they
      are so concerned about their own people? Knowing very well that Israel will retaliate after they are shot at by rockets. Just like any other nation would and would have the right to do so.

    This situation could easily escalate to bigger proportions is Iran decides to join the fray. However, if I was an Israeli enemy, I’d be very scared right now. Still, it’s almost as if Hamas was looking for trouble. Wanting Israel to invade… Who knows where this is leading. We do know how it’s ending tho…

    @markLouis: HOW WILL IT ALL END? God’s word tells us!!!

    God tells us that in the last days just before the return of His Son Jesus, Israel will be involved in two major wars. These wars are found in Psalms 83 and Ezekiel 38 & 39. The first is the Psalms 83 war and it describes those that will come against Israel as coalition of Arab nations/populations that despise/hate Israel. Those nations/populations surround Israel (inner circle) and consists of Palestinians, Syrians, Saudi Arabians, Egyptians, Lebanese, and Jordanians. Psalms 83 says Israel defeats this coalition with their military and as a result gains more of the land God gave Abraham and his descendants, increase in wealth/resources and security. Soon after that, the Ezekiel 38 & 39 (a.k.a. Gog and Magog war) takes place. The coalition coming against Israel in this war also consists of Arab nations/populations that despise/hate Israel. They too surround Israel but they are those on the outer circle (e.g. Turkey, Iran, etc.). Although not Arab, some scholars believe Russia is also included and actually leads the charge (they say Russia is the Magog mentioned). Others think Magog is actually Turkey and just recently I read a study that says Iran is Magog (can be found here for those that are interested in reading it: http://www.aoreport.com). Israel also wins this war but this time it’s not with their military. Ezekiel 38 & 39 tells us that God Himself will destroy the Gog & Magog coalition!

    One of the remarkable things about Psalm 83 is that Israel’s worst enemy is not mentioned in this war. Of course I’m referring to Iran. But how come? Some believe that is b/c of the preemptive strike by Israel on Iran’s nuclear facilities and military targets via conventional methods or with an EMP bomb. Most that hold this position believe that this strike will be what will set off the Psalm 83 war b/c it will infuriate most Arabs. Not only that but since Iran will be recovering from those strikes, that’s why they are not part of this war. However, after seeing what is currently taking place between Hamas and Israel, I think Psalm 83 war could start as result of this conflict instead of a preemptive strike on Iran. And since Iran is close to acquiring nukes, their thinking might be to wait until they have them before wanting to get involved. This instead could be the reason why they are not mentioned in Psalm 83 war.

    Psalm 83 Coalition*:
    Tents of Edom = [decedents of Esau] Palestinian Refugees and Southern Jordanians
    Ishmaelites = Saudi Arabians
    Moab = Palestinian Refugees and Central Jordanians
    Hagrites = Egyptians
    Gebal = Northern Lebanese
    Ammon = Palestinian Refugees and Northern Jordanians
    Amalek = Arabs South of Israel
    Philista = Palestinian Refugees and Hamas of Gaza Strip
    Inhabitants of Tyre = Hezbollah and Southern Lebanese
    Assyria = Syrians and perhaps Northern Iraqis included
    Children of Lot = Moab and Ammon

    Gog & Magog Coalition:
    Magog, Rosh = Russia and the former Soviet republics or Turkey (or Iran if R.A. Coombes’ study is correct)
    Persia = Iran
    Cush = Sudan, Ethiopia, and Possibly Eritrea
    Put = Libya, Algeria, and Tunisa
    Gomer, Meshech, and Tubal = Turkey (and possibly Germany and Austria)
    Beth-togarmah = Turkey, Armenia, and the Turkish-speaking people of Asia Minor & Central Asia

    Areweinthelastdays.com has a great article on these two wars and so does bibleprophecyman.com in case anyone is interested in learning more about them.

    Indeed these are some very interesting times (end-times to be more precise) we are living in folks!

    For those of you that have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, I wouldn’t wait another second b/c His return for the believer is closer than ever!!!

      [1 Thessalonians 5: RSV
      1 But as to the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need to have anything written to you. 2 For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 When people say, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as travail comes upon a woman with child, and there will be no escape. 4 But you are not in darkness, brethren, for that day to surprise you like a thief.]

      So when Israel say: “There is (now) peace and security”, we know what will follow?

      Sam,

      Thank you for your reply. I do believe we are in the End Times. However, you must be aware that for thousands of years–throughout all Christian history and Jewish history before that–very well educated and very well meaning God-fearing people have mis-interpreted End Time prophecies. It is possible that we are somehow mis-reading the signs of the times around us and the prophetic Word just as our brothers and sisters have in generations prior to us. I pray every day that Jesus returns and this world is taken in the Hands of God Himself. But I wonder how we will struggle through these awful times if these aren’t the End Times but just another tricky political crisis for us to solve ourselves.

  9. A few weeks, or even months does seem ootimistic. As with any war, how can anyone actually forsee how or when any war ends?
    With war, I think it never ends.
    We are all still suffering effects from all previous wars, and the effects of stress and fear anticipating wars, small and big in the near and even far into the future. Daily our choices are altered by how we percieve the effects of war on our lives and on our cchildren’s lives. War even influences what is included in the education of our children.
    Once initiated, even regional conflicts of war, do not ever completely end. Especially not in a few weeks.
