Hey, Alvin, I think this falls into the category of “mining hell for humor”:
Earthquakes to the west of me, Frankenstorms to the east, here I am, stuck in the middle with you
No ice to the north of me, Popocatepetl to the south, here I am, stuck in the middle with you

Never mind the jokers or the clowns….That’s actually a good observation, Neibo and you’reright; in reality, this is just how this crisis will worsen. There will be catastrophic events happening in cascading fashion on every front. The world is getting a small taste of what’s to soon unfold.
Take care and hope all is well…
In the middle, Alvin

Response to Anjith: it’s an earthquake! 2 tectonic plates are moving opposite to each other, that results in an earthquake. No one died? well good, that’s because the earthquake hit a sparsely inhabited area that aso has houses built of wood, they move with the quake as opposed to brick or stone etc which would collapse or break up…. That’s “all”. Not to minimize the quake, it’s huge, yes, but relax, the Earth isn’t collapsing… earthquakes happen everyday all over the planet, nothing new or unusual… BC is a known earthquake region. I live here and have felt a few over the years, but not this one which occured far from my home.

@ Isabelle – Even I, as a skeptic, would have to say something ominous is unfolding here. Yes, earthquakes ARE a normal occurrence, but what concerns me is the frequency, the intensity and how wide spread they’ve suddenly become. You do not have to follow this site to see this pattern is abnormal, just watch the news.
And every one of these quakes seem to break records, “The strongest quake in x-number of years”, “The largest quake recorded…”. Even in eastern Canada we’ve experienced two strong quakes in the past year, usually quakes that noticeable are a decades apart. The same can be said of volcanic activity currently happening around the world.
Where it will all lead, who can say. Though one thing is clear, some kind of planetary change is occurring. Is this just a temporary hiccup in nature that will fizzle out, or are we seeing the early signs of a build up to something disastrous? I honestly cannot say.

Well, I for one am glad no one was killed or injuried but you have to look what is on going in the world regarding changes in the earth and as been pointed out many times on this wonderful site is that you can see the pattern: In that the earth, society and economic issues are ALL in a process/pattern of decline and WE ARE ALL heading to a point of collapse and lawlessness in the earth.
There is hope from above……………

There is something more going on here, which I will be discussing later.

Is it something that we need to be concerned with Alvin?

Yes, because things on the planet have clearly turned a corner and this signals the onset of potentially worsening conditions.

So Alvin, did this relieve pressure on the Cascadian fault zone, or is it adding to the stress? Or is there really any way to tell?

It did not relieve the pressure because I believe it portends something more significant is about to unfold. This quake was one of the last pieces in a puzzle that signals changing conditions for the planet have accelerated. Therefore it is not an event; but the beginning of more significant occurrences to come: many we will see along this region; others all along the west coast of North America.
