Heads up on a curious series of earthquakes south of the Salton Sea in So. Cal. This is where the San Andreas reappears from the Salton Sea near Brawley. Just happened in the last hour pr so.

Interesting… I wonder how this may correlate to what is now happening in Californi… 17 EQ’s back to back..?

You did an article back on april 12th, 2012.. when there were two 8.0+ EQ’s ,,then followed several in CA then as well?

Seismic tension is building for a major earthquake of the 6.8 to 7.9 range from the Salton Sea up to Central California; perhaps higher along the San Andreas. This is the second major earthquake swarm this month. The first happened on August 7 and 8th- with about 30 tremors. Not a good sign. The second thing is, this could be the beginning of fissures, or massive fault tears along the California landscape. The Laguna Salada fault has been growing increasing more active since the 2010 7.2 Baja Quake, and California geology, all over the state, has been growing increasingly more restless; from quakes at Long Valley supervolcano, to unexplained boom noises in the Sierra mountains.

Alvin, please can you tell us what is happening in Seeley/Brawley in California? Why have they had so many tremors today? More than 50, as reported in the USGS earthquake map. I’ve not seen anything like that. Thank your Alvin. Jennie in the UK and an avid follower of your site.

    • Glad you found the site and routine turn to us, Jen. I’m so fortunate to have you here tuning in. See previous comments. It looks like major stress release event is building and 5.0 magnitude earthquakes are not going to cut it or alleviate the problem; even if there were 20 of them.
