What does “sacred war” mean, anyway? A “war that is sacred”? So. . .what makes the war “sacred”?

Oh, wait. I forget. “Sovereignty” of the state is sacred, because, to a true Communist, there is no God; the state itself is the infallible higher power, and, since Kim is the state . . . the dictator is god.

The North spews the same rhetoric and paranoid statements every single joint US – ROK exercise. I guess that’s one way to try to get their people – some of the poorest and malnourished souls in the world – to focus on something other than their current plight. Maybe one day they’ll figure out that the way they’ve run their country since the Armistice is unsustainable. Only problem is they’re just as likely to strike out at the South in desperation as reforming their government and economy. Just too unpredictable.

I used to wonder just how close China and North Korea really where.
Then I realised that for all the Norths waste of money on the military and not on food – China barely throws them a scrap from their coffers!

Can someone please tell me how this evil seed can wage a sacred war when his country is in fact an athiestic communist realm?

    • Haha, very good point, Simcha! the entire history of communism is rife with examples of using trumped up linguistic convolutions to excite the people to support the government. Without probably even realizing it, Kim is acknowledging the religious heritage of his people while denying the value of religion. But, that’s how the Kims have done it for over sixty years…
