Khamenei: Zionist regime will disappear from map

August 16, 2012ISRAEL – With the U.S. sending clear public signals to Israel that it is opposed to military action now against Iran, and a cacophonous debate on the matter in Israel, senior Iranian officials continue to threaten Israel with destruction. Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Wednesday that he was confidant “the fake Zionist (regime) will disappear from the landscape of geography,” Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported. Khamenei made the comments during a meeting with veterans of the Iran-Iraq War. “The light of hope will shine on the Palestinian issue, and this Islamic land will certainly be returned to the Palestinian nation,” Khamenei was quoted as saying. Earlier on Wednesday Brig.- Gen. Gholamreza Jalali, the head of Iran’s Passive (civil) Defense Organization and a former commander of the Revolutionary Guards, during a speech ahead of Al-Quds Day, an anti-Israel event initiated by Iran, said that in order to liberate Palestine there was no other option but to destroy Israel. [Al-“Quds Day] is a reflection of the fact that no other way exists apart from resolve and strength to completely eliminate the aggressive nature and to destroy Israel,” Jalali said, according to a report by Iran’s ISNA news agency. The report was also picked up by other news outlets including Mashregh News, which is affiliated to the Revolutionary Guards. Al-Quds Day is an annual Iranian anti-Zionist event established in 1979 by Ayatollah Khomeini and which falls this year on August 17. Iran also seeks to export the event to other Muslim countries. Jalali said that the message of Khomeini’s Al-Quds Day initiative was that the Muslim world must support the “oppressed people of Palestine” in a show of resistance against “the Zionist usurpers.” Jerusalem Post

If you take a fishpond and remove the fish, and add frogs, there is no longer a fishpond. There is no Israel, and concepts of nations have little to do with a transcendant love. Love does not make promises of action, Action reveals itself in love.

One cannot just speculate on media. They likely do not have nuclear weapons. Rather religious enmity turns many to speculate the worst. Of course Iran will threaten back, it is a natural pride to do so. Just because quakes etc. happen in Iran does not mean God is against Iran, when it can easily just as mean the quake happens to waken the people that are for God. Small disasters catalyse events here and there, but I am sure larger disasters will also stop war-mongering in the same way, including the war-like thoughts of those who speculate. Thankyou.

      • When one nation, any nation, proposes to wipe another off the map the last thing anyone needs is for them to obtain nuclear weapons. under the current American presidency Iran has been given every opportunity to cease and desist and they have refused. There is an old saying that if you know that a man is coming in the morning to kill you, get up earlier and strike first, and if Israel strikes to prevent a nuclear Iran from becoming a reality they can hardly be blamed considering Iran’s adamancy in threatening Israel with extinction. And even the largest of disasters won’t stop humanity from trying to kill each other, otherwise there would be no coming battle of Armageddon.

I think all the world’s superpowers want war. They are manipulating us into accepting it again, and when I read things like “And the Iranians wonder why so many nations are against them developing nuclear weapons? I don’t believe they would hesitate to use them on anybody, even other Muslim nations that oppose them, like the Saudis” and it seems like they are succeeding at it yet again.

Just for the record I have to say that the man-made, stolen land of our current day nation of Israel has nothing to do with the Israel the Lord speaks of. Most of those who are occupying the Palestinian lands are those who call themselves Jews but they are not. They are the Synagogue of Satan.

Iranian President Prepares For 12th Imam’s Reappearance

    By Erin Roach
    Baptist Press

CBN.com– NASHVILLE, Tennessee (BP) — Aug. 22 could be an ominous date for Israelis and Americans based on its significance this year as one of Islam’s most revered holy days, according to a Princeton professor who says Iran may be planning “cataclysmic events” to prepare the way for Shiite Muslims’ awaited messiah.

Bernard Lewis, a professor emeritus of Near Eastern studies at Princeton University, warned in a Wall Street Journal opinion piece that Aug. 22 this year corresponds to the 27th day of the month of Rajab of the year 1427 on the Islamic calendar, which is when Muslims commemorate the flight of the prophet Muhammad on a winged horse to Jerusalem and then to heaven and back.

Aug. 22, Lewis said, could provide an opportune moment for Iran’s president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to set in motion the return of the 12th Imam, whom Shiites believe will forever end the struggle between good and evil in the last days.

“Mr. Ahmadinejad and his followers clearly believe that this time is now, and that the terminal struggle has already begun and is indeed well advanced,” Lewis wrote in The Wall Street Journal Aug. 8. “It may even have a date, indicated by several references by the Iranian president to giving his final answer to the U.S. about nuclear development by Aug. 22.”

The United Nations Security Council has asked Iran to stop all uranium enrichment by the end of August, but Iran has refused. Western nations, led by the United States, believe Iran is using its nuclear program as a cover for developing atomic weapons while Iran says the program is for generating electricity with nuclear reactors.

Ahmadinejad repeatedly has said he believes Israel should be obliterated, and he is a clear foe of the U.S. government, which he contends is against Islam and is the strongest threat to his Shiite goal of Middle East domination.

Lewis identifies another key reason Ahmadinejad is an imminent nuclear threat, based on an concept that kept nations from nuclear attacks during the Cold War — mutual assured destruction.

“There is a radical difference between the Islamic Republic of Iran and other governments with nuclear weapons,” Lewis noted. “This difference is expressed in what can only be described as the apocalyptic worldview of Iran’s present rulers.”

In other words, Iran doesn’t fear retaliation if they attack Israel or the United States because a final global struggle against an evil enemy will present them with the privileges of martyrdom as taught in Islam, Lewis wrote. Death is not a deterrent.

“It is far from certain that Mr. Ahmadinejad plans any such cataclysmic events precisely for Aug. 22. But it would be wise to bear the possibility in mind,” Lewis wrote.

Ahmadinejad Obsessed with Return of 12th Imam

Kairos Journal, which seeks to equip church leaders as they engage the culture for Christ and has several leading Southern Baptists on its editorial team, has taken a look at Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s fascination with the return of Shiite Muslims’ messiah and what that means if Ahmadinejad is armed with nuclear weapons.

“Ahmadinejad belongs to the mainstream of Shi’a Islam, known as ‘Twelvers,’” an article posted at http://www.kairosjournal.org stated. “They recognize a historical succession of Imams, connected by family ties, commencing with Muhammad and concluding with the 12th Imam.”

The 12th Imam was born around 868 A.D. at a time of great persecution of Shiites, the journal explained, and in order to protect him, his father, the 11th Imam, sent him into hiding. He appeared in public briefly at the age of 6 when his father died but then went back into obscurity. Shiites believe he continues to guide Muslims, and they expect his “messianic” return to bring order from chaos and righteousness from unbelief, Kairos said.

“President Ahmadinejad seems to think that the time is ripe for the 12th Imam’s reappearance and that, as president, he should play a role in opening the way for his return,” the journal said. “He is reported to have said in one of his cabinet sessions, ‘We have to turn Iran into a modern and divine country to be the model for all nations, and which will also serve as the basis for the return of the 12th Imam.’”

Like Bernard Lewis of Princeton, the Kairos authors said Ahmadinejad seems to believe “that the hand of God is guiding him to trigger a series of cataclysmic events which could precipitate the return of the 12th Imam. Only time will tell if this is his true conviction; but if he does hold such a view, his possession of nuclear weapons is a particularly scary prospect.”

Thanks for posting this article. You are spot on re Ahmadinejad’s goal to usher in the Great Mahdi.
Just wondering if you have read Joel Rosenberg’s THE TWELFTH IMAM and THE TEHRAN INITIATIVE? Fiction but very informative re Shia eschatology and in many ways prophetic. Joel is a born-again Christian Jew and brings an interesting perspective.

        Greetings streams13,
I haven’t read Rosenberg’s works. Most recently I read “The Haj” by Leon Uris. Written in the ’60’s, It is a fascinating study of Palestine, Islam, Shia, Suni, a nacent Israel and the singular mind set to rid the world of the Jews and to either convert or conquer the Infidel. Jihad has been around for centuries. The goal of the Muslim Brotherhood and the fundamentalists is to bring the world back to the middle ages, paving thier way to Paradise.
Yesterday weapons went from swords, daggers, to rifle and pistols. Add the immeasurable wealth of petro-dollars Soon there were the tanks and aircraft. Fast forward to today. We are worried about Iran enriching uranium to weapons grade concentrations. Have we considered that the rhetoric is baiting Irsael to take the first shot? Has anyone considered that these petro-dollars have already purchased nuclear weapons from North Korea, or has Pakistan sold some of theirs already? Are these weapons poised and positioned for attack to burn away Israel in the great fire. And those killed in Iran: they belive that they will be in the seventh heaven of Paradise.
With all crescendo of convolutions the earth and mankind is now witnessing, (thank God Alvin is chronicling for us to see and prepare) it looks like all of us will meet our Maker.

First and foremost, Western powers should critically question why Iran is so confident in threatening Israel to the core, while knowing the repercussions of war. Is it the 12th Imam? Is it Russia, its big brother? Is it a new technology they are hiding? For me, it is only a lunatic that can threaten such powers, and for sure, Iran is is not a lunatic. Poker cards are being hidden under the table for the next move.

    • Whatever the reasons for Iran’s threats, those who do not take them seriously are blinded to the truth. A nuclear Iran would be the biggest threat to global security since their radical government would not hesitate to use as they wished, and if millions of Iranians die in the process, in their thinking, that would be just so many more martyrs to Mohammed.

    • With Iran, and this evil ideology, it is imperitive to always keep a close eye. Noone believed Hitler either, until he actually carried through with his evil plans. Even though he shouted it just like Iran is doing. God’s timing is not our timing, it will happen, it’s prophesied, but we don’t have to look on with dread. We can look on with hope, hope that a bright new day is coming with our Lord. God Bless all.
