2012 Perseid meteor shower coincides with minor planetary alignment

August 11, 2012 – SPACE – The annual Perseid meteor shower is underway. International observers are reporting 15+ meteors per hour in pre-dawn skies as Earth enters a broad stream of debris from parent comet Swift-Tuttle. The shower has been building since late July. Over the past two weeks, NASA’s All-Sky Meteor Network has recorded more than 57 Perseid fireballs. Their orbits are shown here, with Earth’s position marked in red. The Moon, Venus, and Jupiter are lining up in the eastern sky this weekend–right in the middle of the Perseid meteor shower –Space Weather

    I would love it to be a clear sky over here in the u.k for this amazing,natural light show.

    I live in Minnesota and with the trees and the clouds It’s hard to even see stars. I love this video. It is very complete and detailed. Thank you

    yeah that falling star night…did anybody see it?
    The sky was a little cloudy, but because of all the light pollution, I could only see planes passing by…I remember as a kid, I loved to watch the sky…even that luxury is hard to find these days…

    I wanted to relay to anyone I had a wierd dream that jupiter would harm me the earth and now just found out about the alignment my dream was in the last 2 days maybe as it happened find my emal contact me please

    Seems like propaganda. I’ve noticed a bright something in the sky since last year and its getting brighter and closer. Jupiter? Venus? Of coarse they would like us to believe that. Whatever it is, its getting closer.

    Today at 7 o clock I see a meteror near my home diving from sky . It was big .I am scared . Dated 28.10.12 .location Lahore .defence.pakistan

      Rizwan, what amazing wonders we see in God’s heavens. These are trying times we live in. Jesus said in Luke chapter 21 when he was teaching about the end times, There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven. He also says “Let not your heart be troubled, do not be afraid, for I am with you even unto the end.” Although we face a fearful world and fearful events in the skies, and convulsions of nature. We can be assured of God’s promise to carry us through. This is our light in darkness. Praying for your protection.
