16 Responses to America’s infrastructure buckling from climate change: we’re being hit with the ‘Storm of century’ every year now

My husband and I went to Lake Huron ( Port Sanilac area ) 2 weeks ago and when we stepped in we got the shock of our lives; it was uncomfortably warm. I have been going to the lake here in the summer for almost a decade now and never have I experienced the lake so warm.
We continued to go out as far as we could walk and yet the water temperature was still very warm.
( we had our dog with us so were not able to swim out further ).
Perhaps other Michiganders might have expereienced this in earlier times? Not sure as we are relatively new to this area.

My wife, a Michigander from the Detroit area, states that “I can’t imagine what would cause that. That water is normally FRIGID.”

I know from personal experience that my first time swimming in Michigan water was my last. I’m surprised my testicles returned.

“Change” and extinction are two different ponies. I am sure that most people are aware that weather patterns can fluctuate but there is usually a “norm” ( model ) to compare cycles/patterns with. There are none at this time.

I do agree, though, that “change” can imply growth…but I do not see that this is the case with this particular situation.

Earth has been both colder and warmer than it is now. Sun is also very active at the moment. There are many UNKNOWN things that can affect the climate on Earth. These things are never mentioned by ‘the environment talibans’ around in our world. When You ask them a series of very serious questions about that they are never able to answer them. I have tried many times, but never get any answers…. They just continue ‘the same old song’….

Today there are evidence that the human don’t affect the climate on Earth. More and more scientists join those who believe in these overwhelming evidence. Too bad that mainstream news censor them completely. Global warming was INVENTED during the 1960’s. Check internet for more info on that.

New, convincing evidence indicates global warming is caused by cosmic rays and the sun — not humans:

We should not be surprised about this since Alvin and others have been posting about the forthcoming change in the weather worldwide. Some look at it as part of the earth cycle, others look at it as weather warfare and also as judgment from God upon the land for the wickedness of those who inhabit the land.

When Disney first opened, women were losing their heels as they became stuck in the payment because it was so hot.
The comment that stuck out at me was the comment concerning the inability to cool nuclear reactors that provide power. Is it possible that in the future, the daily norm will be limited hours of power as is in some third world countries?

    Just a thought…………..

The soles of shoes were probably made from a slightly different substance than what they are made of today I would think. Speaking of women losing their heels (soles), as I was climbing the Sleeping Bear Dunes, in Traverse City, this past weekend a woman was passing me coming down the slope. As she passed me she showed me that the sole of her shoe had melted and come completely off of the shoe because the sand was so hot. It was around noon time and I can say that the sand was blistering hot.

Lu 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. KJV The greatest climate change on record occurred in the days of Noah. The greatest climate change will occur also in the days of the Son of man. In our local area things have gone from the extreme of unprecedented moisture last summer with flooding from our local area of the Rocky Mountains all the way into the Mississippi river. Now this year it is drought from our area all the way across the county to the south and east. Indeed there is climate change. As I post this we have another wild fire burning 25 miles away. This on the heels of massive fires in our state. His Word is True!

The weather has changed & continues to change drastically & it’s so obvious to anyone that uses even one of their six senses but still people bicker & debate the origins of that change & who or what is culpable for it. Whether or not it is the wrath of the Christian God, Mother Nature going beserk, Man’s stupidity, ignorance & arrogance coming back to haunt him or a cyclic phenomenon I believe it’s about to get a whole lot worse sooner than later. I’ve never seen such frequency or been amazed at the savagery & severity of events, never heard the words Mega, record breaking or unprecedented describing the weather till a couple of years ago, now such words are a fixed part of our vernacular. Soon there will be an event that will shake our species to the core, a weather/Earth related event that will supercede anything that has gone before it & then, only then will people finally realize how dangerous the precipice we are standing on actually is.

one can debate whether this or that year, decade, century had the worst storms, but can one debate that were facing the greatest economic devastation mankind has every faced from natural disasters? With the worlds population overload, infrastructure on every fault line, floodplain, island, hillside and mountain top, every natural occurance has the potential to be catastophic, let alone the “mega” disasters. Fukushima is poised to potentially kill a few BILLION PEOPLE if a large, not mega, large quake hits Japan just right(wrong seems more apropriate). Even if we dodge a large loss of life, initially, how much longer can we withstand the economic loss when every occurance seems to be in the billions? Imagine the world wide economic chaos caused by power grid failure in the U.S. would cause, let alone something(an EMP) that could cause a global concern would do? COLD CHILLS UP MY SPINE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!
