5.1 magnitude earthquake strikes Dominican Republic

July 7, 2012 – DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – A moderate 5.1 magnitude earthquake has struck the island nation of the Dominican Republic. The epicenter of the earthquake was 113 km (70 miles) W (260°) from San Cristóbal, San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic and just 128 km (80 miles) ESE (106°) from PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti. The earthquake had a depth of 19.9 km (12.4 miles) and may have caused some preliminary damages though reports coming in are scant in details. –The Extinction Protocol

        The end of the world, the apocalypse, the rapture, the end time. God, in my humble opinion, is not a psychotic showman here to punish the wicked. I hope we never become too complacent with this type of news, we need to see the patterns for ourselves and interpret them with our own God given intelligence.
        Until now, an area of study that has had little attention is solar cycles.

    I heard a comment on the tv last night and the person said that of the ten most powerful recorded earthquakes in the world, 6 of them have occurred since 1948.

    I have friends who are missionaries in Haiti. I need to find out if there was any damage there from this quake. They still haven’t recovered from the last one.

      I was in HAITI for three months right after the 2010 quake and again in September of that year. I keep in touch with Haitians, and things are still difficult for many Haitians since the infrastructure is sadly lacking in terms of roads, sewer systems, potable water, garbage collection, electric…and the list goes on.
