Omen? Waters near Osaka bay Japan turn pale yellow

June 13, 2012 JAPAN At this moment, people in Osaka and Kobe are tweeting the color of Osaka bay looks strange. From the picture, it looks pale yellow. One follower on the site tweeted: “Moving from parents house to Mikage. Osaka bay looked yellowish when I saw from an eminence. Am afraid it’s a sign.”  From local citizens, it became strange color before the great Hanshin earthquake (1995) as well. They might need to stay informed just in case. –Fukushima Diary
Fish kill: The region is near the area of a recent sardine mega-fish kill. In May of this year, Japanese seismologist warned of the dangers of a tripple-earthquake strike in the area: “If three earthquakes simultaneously occurred along the Nankai Trough located in the seabed off central to western Japan, high-rise buildings in Osaka would be shaken by long-period ground motion five times stronger than that in the Great East Japan Earthquake, researchers have predicted. A group of researchers with the University of Tokyo made the announcement on May 21 at the Japan Geoscience Union Meeting, currently under way in Chiba. The group also speculates that, if the three temblors — the Tokai, Tonankai and Nankai quakes — took place together, high-rise buildings in Tokyo would be shaken by long-period ground motion twice to three times stronger than that in the Great East Japan Earthquake, which struck northeast Japan on March 11, 2011. The long-period ground motion will be stronger in the Tokai-Tonankai-Nankai earthquake because seismic tremors will be amplified by soft rock and stone deposited along the plate boundaries in the Nankai Trough, according to the researchers. The announcement is expected to prompt authorities to step up measures to minimize possible effects on urban areas, which host skyscrapers. In their study, the group predicted the intensity of long-period ground motion in the event that magnitude-8.7 triple earthquakes took place along the Nankai Trough simultaneously. In case of seismic movements with a cycle of six seconds, the seismic velocity would be 250 centimeters per second in Osaka’s bay area — five times that in the Great East Japan Earthquake — and 110 to 165 centimeters per second in central Tokyo. The tremors in both cities would also last at least twice as long as the March 11 quake, according to the researchers.” –DU

Didn’t mean to make this a separate post. This is my favorite sole website for current events globally, you do a fantastic job, great detail. Congratulations. We here in Los Angeles are awaiting our imminent long-overdue foreshock, Japan has affected us far more than most people are aware. Last earthquake over 5.0 was well over a year ago in Chino Hills, hasn’t budged since.

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t China experiencing some kind of haze right now that’s the same color? Could be very significant.

I would absolutely move as far away from the coast as I could if I saw the water in the bay turn yellow, I would not wait to do it either, something is about to happen.

This is a very interesting developement. I was up late last night. I experienced an odd feeling after the 5.3 Sandwich Island event which if you will note Oklahoma also had a small event. The last Japan event actually affected the Mexico/Panhandle area more than the LA/Orange Co. area. I believe back in 2004 there was a report that the Coco’s plate dove (sp?) differently. I will be paying attention due to a recent dream that I had.

Hi Lilia thank you for your post…all I can say is I echo your sentiments exactly..and unfortunately it is beyond ‘if’, it is when another major quake rattles the area….I am on the West Coast here between Mt.Rainier and Mt. St. Helen’s so keep a pretty close watch daily on Japan and my area/West Coast USA….Today I am reminded of just how tenuous and finite the balance of life is here on this our Earth and I give deep thanks daily for the clean water I drink and the fresh air I breathe..we are beyond blessed just by those simple things when we awaken every day here in the USA…..

Volcanic? Non-Volcanic? Low-Frequency Earthquakes beneath Osaka Bay – Event Search from Continuous Records –

    Aso, N.; Ide, S.

American Geophysical Union, Fall Meeting 2010, abstract #S23A-2093

Low frequency earthquakes (LFEs) and tremors are observed in Nankai subduction zone, Japan. They are recognized to occur upon the subducting Philippine Sea plate. On the other hand, LEFs apart from plate boundary surface are also known (e.g. Ohmi and Obara, 2002). Most of them are distributed around volcanoes with some exceptions. Ones of the exceptions are LEFs occurring beneath Osaka Bay area between Kinki and Shikoku regions. These LFEs occur near the extension of tremor belt in Shikoku, and they are also close to the tear of Philippine Sea plate between Kinki and Shikoku regions (Ide et al., GRL in press). In addition, the epicenters of these LFEs are aligned toward north-northwest, the direction of the tear, and its extended line passes through the epicenter of the 1995 Kobe Earthquake. These facts suggest the hidden relations between LFEs, the subducting slab, and major inland earthquakes. The waveforms of the LFEs beneath Osaka Bay often have distinct spectral peak around 2Hz, unlike LFEs in subduction zones. This feature is common to some volcanic tremors. It is also suggested that mantle-derived water is blowing off along the wake of the slab tear, and some fluid likely exists beneath Osaka Bay. The LFEs have been detected by routine analysis of the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA). These are small portion of overall activities, because the routine analysis is not optimized to detect small low frequency events in noisy data. To figure out whole activities of LFEs, we apply Matched Filter Analysis (Gibbons and Ringdal, 2006; Shelly et al., 2007) to continuous waveform records, using LFEs detected by JMA as template events. We used the 69 components in the 23 stations in Hi-net, maintained by the National Reserch Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Prevention. The waveforms are bandpass filtered between 2 and 8Hz. We calculated the cross-correlations of template LFEs and continuous records with 8s time window. An LFE is detected when the cross-correlations take high values for all components simultaneously. We have detected many LFEs in five years’ records. Most of them were smaller events than the template LFEs. There were active periods and quiet periods, but the pattern is different from the episodic high-activity LFEs with almost constant recurrence time observed at subduction zones.

Found this old article, may shed some light on to whats going on in the bay

Did any of you hear anything about radiation levels on the West coast from Fukishima ? Also there have been reports that the EQ in March 2011 was only 5.8 richter but reported as 9.0 by the end of the day . And conspiracy about israeli involvement in computer override at Diachi nuclear plant causeing containment breech ? Because of an agreement to enrich Uranium for Irans nuclear program . That would explain the media black out in this country .
