60,000 to 100,000 dead fish wash up eastern shores of U.S. near Chesapeake Bay

May 24, 2012 MARYLANDSomething’s rotten on the Baltimore area waterfront. Fish are washing ashore by the thousands in a mass die-off that officials say appears to be caused by a weather-driven worsening of the pollution that chronically plagues the Chesapeake Bay. State investigators expanded their probe Wednesday into what they believe are algae-related fish kills in Marley, Furnace and Curtis creeks in Glen Burnie, raising the estimated death toll there tenfold, while finding a new batch of finny carcasses in a Dundalk creek. Jay Apperson, spokesman for the Maryland Department of the Environment, said the agency’s fish-kill investigators estimated anywhere from 60,000 to 100,000 fish of several species dead in the three creeks in northern Anne Arundel County. Only a day before, Apperson had said investigators figured there were about 6,000 dead. “You could smell it through the neighborhood,” said Rob Rogers, 45, who took a break from work at the Point Pleasant Beach Tavern to describe what he called “unbelievable” conditions on the creeks. Rogers said boaters reported dead fish floating in the water so thick they couldn’t avoid hitting them. The state investigators also found about 300 dead fish in Bullneck Creek in eastern Baltimore County, Apperson said, where residents on Tuesday had reported seeing fish and crabs thrashing on the water’s surface in apparent distress. The investigators measured little oxygen in the creek’s deepest water for fish to breathe. The die-offs are a drastic byproduct of algae blooms that have discolored water in much of the upper bay for over a month now, officials said. “We’ve been having lots of algae blooms in Middle River, in Baltimore harbor, even down on the Severn River,” said Thomas Parham, tidewater ecosystem assessment chief for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. “This is earlier than normal,” he added, and while algae blooms are a common phenomenon on the bay in spring and summer, they normally are “not at this level.” –Baltimore Sun

What is going on? This headline appears at least once a month on here. By now there must hundreds of thousands of fish washing up all over the world and no real concern anywhere, except here.
Apparently the bird population of Britain has dropped by over 50% in the last 25 years. If you want to hear a cuckoo, you have to buy a clock. And bees are getting lost all over the place.
And the most frustrating part of all this is when you ask scientists. They can explain everything indivdually, and it all makes perfect sense. But ask them why there is a massive culmination of events and they say its your imagination. Unless I am losing all grasp on reality (and this is a possibility) it’s not my imagination.
I just have a horrid feeling that an “Ahhhh, now I understand” moment, is lurking out there somewhere, soon to be understood, but by then it will be too late.

It has been said that the massive fish deaths usually precede a seismic event. I would not be surprised to see something big on the East Coast in the coming months. This comment will be awaiting moderation until then, because for some reason my comments are never approved….

2 By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.

3 Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.

They give every other explanation in the book for these mass fish & bird die offs except for what is so blatantly obvious. They will still be denying even when the oceans are totally dead.

This has never happened before in all recorded human history…is this related to the pole shift happening? We know that the pole shift has drastically increased earthquakes, tornados, volcanic eruptions, hurricanes, & so on.

you are right but tornadoes are caused by drastic changes in air climate and not by polar shifting, and hurricanes can also be cause by the moon, there are many flaws to your idea on this polarity shifting is not the only thing that can cause these mishaps

Seems as though the world’s fish population is diminishing at a rapid rate. What is killing our fish, whales, dolphins….? Could the BP spill have had anything to do with this mayhem? Just a thought.

There is definitely something terribly wrong! This is happening more and more all over the world. Personally, I believe it’s warning signs that should be taken very seriously. I think we will find out before the year is up.

ITS A STUDY ALREADY DONE ABOUT THIS… IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD OR GLOBAL WARMING … ITS SIMPLE .. THE US NAVY IS USING HIGH FREQUENCY SONARS FOR MILITARY PURPOSES THAT ARM SEVERELY THE LIVING CREATURES ON THE OCEAN , REMEMBER THE MASS DOLPHIN AND WALE SUICIDE ? WELL SAME HIGH POWER FREQUENCY SONARS ..

    • marlene says:

Whether its pollution or the navy high frequency sonars, how can these factors identify a specific species of fish (dolphin, whale etc.) to wipe out. Don’t fool yourself, everything cannot be scientifically explained. There’s no doubt we’re in end times and God is increasingly warning us that He will soon return. We need to acknowledge Him before it is too late, and by then we will really have no excuse.

    Hi Alvin,
With the masses of fish dying around the world, how is this effecting the fishing industry and peoples livelihoods? Do you think this has to do with the nuclear reactors in Japan leaking radiation into the sea, or is this part of the other earth changing events taking place.
Again, thank you for all your work in maintaining this site. I have turned a lot of friends onto this site and they are as grateful as me for it. Be blessed.

    Tonic,
Science studies the world by breaking it down into pieces. Each individual case mentioned above does have a specific cause but you will not get the answer WHY ALL OVER THE WORLD. A godless world will not accept the answer found in the bible. Remember a perverse and unbelieving generation will not see the signs.

Do not despair keep the faith in Christ, for these events must happen.

Tony, I cannot do anything but despair. God has gifted me with over 50 years living on Earth. This means that the first twenty five years of my life I seen the real beauty of this planet, Stupid as all this sounds I loved seening swallows return every year. As a kid I used to try to spot some oddity in the chicks that were born and see if I could identify them next year they came back. They are not coming back anymore.
There were insects everywhere, I used to get bitten all the time in summer, not rarely, like now.
Even the air itself was different, I promise, it really was. Difficult to explain, not cleaner. but more vibrant if this makes any sense. And people were in touch with the earth then. Again difficult to explain, but profit was not the number one priority. People were. Its very difficult to put all this into words.
Anyway, I lived this life, and loved it as a child. I despair now when I see a kid with a mobile stuck in his ear. To me, it seems that a whole chunk of what this world is about has vanished. The new generation have never had it, so will never miss it. But I seen it and miss it desperately. And I feel guilty for having seen it.
Guilty, because we have done something along the way to deprive what I have seen and felt from our kids. I wish with all my heart, I was twenty five. (not to be younger, just ignorant) I understand that prophecy has forseen all this, just wish I was not witness to it.

If the officials are saying that algae blooms have been in place for some time now then that is probably the smoking gun…but who pulled the trigger? In a sense all of us have. I have lived in New jersey for all my 55 years and algae blooms happen often off our coast too. Though algae is always present it’s proliferation is magnified when organic chemicals are in the water for the algae to feed on. Add heat to the water which further reduces the oxygen availability and increases the algae consumption of oxygen and a disaster is waiting to happen. Some of our fresh water lakes and streams used to be so polluted with affluents and detergents that fish kills were common and those that were alive wished they were dead but we have changed our ways and fish kills are much less common.

Red tides are normal here on the gulf coast. Caused by algae blooms. And we even have a rare phenonomen here in Mobile Bay called a “jubilee” where the oxygen depletes and you can catch flounder, crabs, and anything else with your hands. An algae bloom alone doesn’t concern me but added to all the birds and animals dying it does…..if it isn’t normal there.

Ummm Tonic I am part of the “younger” generation and if it were not for my phone being attached to my hand all the time, I would not learn about this information. Most of the items reported on this site have not shown up on my local or national news. If it were not for my phone I would be one of those mis informed “kids”.

Maybe in your day when the air was “vibrant” you were being too naive to notice your surrounding. Who is to say your local news didn’t keep you informed.

Tonic, I totally understand what you are trying to explain. I too cannot find the exact words, but things WERE different. People were so much more connected to each other and not technology. It is totally depleting our younger generations’ social skills. People don’t know how to be kind to one another let alone our earth. We are a throw-away, self-absorbed society. God is trying to get our attention, it is subtle to some & non-existent to others, but for those of us who are in tune it is so blatently obvious.

The news media is not reporting this issue. What gets presedence in the news headlines is: Hollywood’s stars and who they are dating or what they are wearing. Politics gets a big piece of the news headlines as well. There is something very seriously wrong with all the aquatic marine life and animals dying globally. The problem seems to be increasing more and more each and every day. Sounds like something BIG is on its way. I suppose we will soon find out, folks. The world events are getting more and more interesting. We are living in earths last days!
