EU tells defiant Iran it must suspend uranium enrichment activity

MAY 9, 2012IRAN The European Union told Iran on Monday it must suspend uranium enrichment, a few days after the Islamic state ruled out doing just that, as Tehran and the West engaged in diplomatic shadow-boxing ahead of nuclear talks this month. The United States called on Iran to take “urgent practical steps” to build confidence during negotiations with world powers on Tehran’s nuclear program, which Washington and its allies suspect is a bid to develop an atomic bomb capability. Iran, attending an international conference in Vienna alongside its Western foes, for its part accused the United States of supporting Israel’s atomic activities. The Jewish state is widely assumed to hold the Middle East’s only nuclear arsenal. Iran and the six major powers resumed discussions last month in Istanbul after a gap of more than a year – a chance to ease escalating tension and avert the threat of a new Middle East war – and both sides described the atmosphere as positive. The next meeting between the powers – the United States, France, Britain, China, Russia and Germany – and Iran is to take place on May 23 in the Iraqi capital. Iranian officials say they are “optimistic” about making progress. But with Iran seeking an end to sanctions and Western states reluctant to prematurely ease the pressure they credit with bringing Tehran to the negotiating table, diplomats are already playing down the chances of a settlement in Baghdad. “A lot of people are talking the Baghdad talks up. We are also hopeful. But it is important to remain realistic,” one European diplomat said. “This will be a start, not an end.” Western officials fear Iran may be hardening its demand for relief from sanctions which have been tightened over the past year to target its oil exports, and say this round of talks will at best serve as a stepping stone towards a final deal. –The Star

Oh for fudge sakes, why don’t the PTB’s concerned just do the right thing & actually pay Iran for their oil instead of this long winded WMD baloney that everyone knows is just another United (G7) Nations ploy to steal another sovereign states assets.

Well now I could be wrong, but it seems to me that with Iran there is just a little bit more to it than their oil. I have been reading about the Persian empire and watching what Iran does and says for a long time.

I am not disputing your take on the UN and lets throw the US and Israel into that equation as well, but when it comes to the generation of a war with Iran, it takes two to tango.

Please explain what you mean, you seem as if you want to blame Iran for something here, though unclear what ! I dont think anyone could say Iran is the aggressor nation. and what do you mean ” it takes two to tango” that is no justification, it would be war your talking about, thousands of innocent people losing their lives and i cant see how you can blame Iran for that. Dont forget we have already got the weapons we are telling them they cannot have, can never get my head around that one!

Even in Iran they have chemtrails in the sky. It is really all over the planet!

By the way, to me, this is just theatre. Potentially a terrible theatre, like WWI or WWII, but a theatre. Isn’t it what they call it, the theater of war? That is, the battle filed, where sacrificial killings are performed em masse.

Europe, USA, Iran, etc. are all under one control, and one control only. There are plenty of pictures showing the Iranian president (or prime minister, I do not remenber) doing, publicly and very intentionally, the salute to Satan (arm strecthed, all fingers out except the two middle fingers on top of the palm), just llike the Bushes, Clinton, Cheney, Obama, Sarkozy, Cameron, Merkel, etc., etc., etc. No wonder Christ needs to come back!

Gil……………. sorry I do not spend a lot of time on the internet. Anyways, Iran is never completely honest about anything it is doing and I have yet to see an inspection in which they did not declare certain areas off limits for the inspectors or where words and actions by all involved simply caused the ‘open’ inspection to be canceled.

As with North Korea, they routinely bluster and threaten everyone around them. This does not improve the situation and eventually this will cause someone to respond with more than words.

Now I am not going to debate whether they should be allowed nuclear weapons as the big kids in the playground have decided they should not have them……….. and nothing you or I say is going to change that. If the Iranians are on the up and up and they really want to sucker punch the US and the EU, all they have to do is actually let the nuke inspectors into these areas that have been off limits to inspect. If nothing is going on and it is broadcast to the world then the US/UN/EU would have a hard time justifying anything after that.

But Iran likes to play games and poke and prod. I understand they do not like to be told what to do, but at some point they have to come clean or a decision is going to be made that none of us are going to like. It is as simple as that.
