Russian scientists alarmed by number of strong quakes striking the planet

April 23, 2012 – MOSCOW – Russian scientists announced last week alarming observations about the strong earthquakes that shook the Earth. In the first decade of the 21st century there were almost as many earthquakes measuring above 6.0 on the Richter scale as there were during the entire 20th century. 14 such cases were registered in the 2001-2011 period compared to 17 strong tremors during the 20th century. –Focus

    Surely this can’t be right. According to Wikipedia, there were 205 6.0 and higher earthquakes last year alone.

      Totally agree with you! We have underground bunkers being built all over the world at an alarming rate. Emergency food being bought out by FEMA before anyone else can buy it. They know something is coming. Fireballs falling everywhere all over the world. Bangs and shaking! Volcanoes waking up and going off. Watch, soon there will reports of Yellowstone volcano becoming a threat.

        Also the increase in tornadoes too. Last year was a record for them and now already a high number that will probably exceed last years record. Mother Nature is sure showing herself here lately.

        There is no certainty..Certainly the warnings have been there for many years and much has been done and spent and provided in this Country for what we call the 1%.But will any of it bare fruit. Can this colossal disaster be survived this time.Im looking at the possibility of yellowstone blowing and the geological pole shift.Ive been concerned over the ELE in the Gulf and the ELE in Japan but the geological pole shift would be the ultimate ELE without answer.

    I get fed up with people who have their heads buried in sands, claiming that “oh it’s because we have better technology and we are seeing more earthquakes than usual due to technological improvement.” Baloney! People need to wake up and smell the coffee and it is not alright! This is a big deal.

        Do you realize that these Russian scientists said from the period between 2001-2011. They are not even including all the major quakes 6+ or above that have struck in just the first four months of 2012 alone and we still have eight months left!!! How many more will hit then?! What’s going on?! This right here is hard data to silence the naysayers with their “oh it’s only because we have more seismometers now than in the past.” The sad thing is that people fall for that hook, line, and sinker.

      Jon_NY – you are correct. There is something seriously wrong with the data the Russians are using. Or there is a misprint in the article and the number should be 9.0, not 6.0 (and I’m not even sure of that). I’ve been watching the earthquake page (USGS and the french one) for about 8 years and even *I* know that the article is wrong. More than once I’ve emailed my sister and sent her the website address and told her to count the number of quakes in red (those above 6.0) for a particular week. Some weeks there have been 6, 8 or more in a single week!! “17 strong tremors in the 20th century” is ridiculous. The number is growing per year, no doubt about that, but i repeat – this article is ridiculous as written.

      Yes, they use a seismic scale but they also have a different scale for measuring damage intensity.

        Is it possible to get a more precise understanding of how they measure quakes? and if so, put the their scale alongside the USGS scale, so we can compare.

        If their scale depends on damage, then ours Feb 6 would’ve been higher than 6.9. We know that quake registered 7.0 in Dumaguete, but was only moving sideways. In Ayungon, Tayasan (near the epicenter), Jimalalud, La libertad, and Guihulngan, the quake moved up and down, as well as sideways; and the damage (esp. in the last two towns on my list), had gross damage.

        Because I believe we’re involved in spirtual warfare with otherworldy forces that are contending for the mind and the allegiance of the heart. Many are claiming they are guiding, or presiding over the events transpiring on Earth and they have influence to change said events provided human behavior is modified. This has certainly been the case with Marian apparitions and with the rash of UFOs seen recently hoovering over erupting volcanoes.         Alvin,
        I enjoy visiting this site and getting up to date information about what is happening across the earth. Definitely the signs of the times.
        I am a devout Catholic and I need to tell you that Catholics DO NOT adore Mary. We only adore God, in the Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. There are so many misunderstandings and misconceptions about Catholicism. This is a great quote from the late Archbishop Sheen: “There are not more than 100 people in the world who truly hate the Catholic Church, but there are millions who hate what they perceive to be the Catholic Church.  ….As a matter of fact, if we Catholics believed all of the untruths and lies which were said against the Church, we probably would hate the Church a thousand times more than they do.” 
        We love and honor Mary as the Mother of our Savior, just as her own Son did. From the cross, Jesus gave Mary to be the mother of us all when he said, “When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home. (John 19:26, 27). Jesus’ last words before His death were given for us through the ages.
        As far as Marian apparitions, Fatima was one of the most famous. It started in May and ended in October. But they have occurred all over the world and in different months: Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico, Our Lady of Grace in Lourdes, France, and Our Lady Queen of Peace in Medjugorje (where she still appears daily) just to mention some of the better known ones. Miracle upon miracle has happened at all these sites. Untold conversions have happened. “By their fruits you will know them”. Blessed Mother (as we Catholics love to call her) always leads people to her Son, never drawing them away from Him. Remember she said at the Wedding Feast at Cana, ” Do whatever He tells you”. That is what she wants of all of us, to do whatever her Son tells us.

I think one of the tremendous challenges of the times ahead of us is the reformatory call back to simplicity, purity, virtue, the obedience to God’s commands and the faith of His Son, in light of the ensuing Earthchanges, to prepare a world for the soon return of our Lord Jesus Christ. I think if this is the goal in our hearts, we will all align towards the orientation that point to Christ, and Him along, as the Savior and priestly Mediator of divine grace. I also am of the conviction that right now, Christianity owes too much of its current heritage to paganism as the Romans were cultural assimilators for most of the nations of antiquity they encountered during their history and all these nations happen to be pagan. The old gods and goddesses were recycled as they passed down through time from Egypt to Babylon, to Assyria and Persia to Greece to Rome. We adopted their days of worship, and changed holidays and names in many cases to preserve cultural legacies. This came at the terrible expense of creating schisms in the Christian religion. We’re only allowed two bags at the check-in counter on our flight to heaven according to Revelation 12:17 and that is “keeping the commandments of God,” and having the “faith of Christ.” What incurs the dragon’s wrath must surely also engender the Father’s favor. As the call of the Baptist was a call to purity before the first advent of the Messiah, the message of this end time is even more so the same; ‘reform‘ and that is the challenge of our time. No man putteth an old piece of cloth on a new garment, lest the rent in made worst. New wine is put in new bottles and only then is both preserved. Matthew 9:16, 17. Christ’s admonition to the Pharisees about holding to the traditions of men rather than obeying the express command of God is doubly apt for our time. If Christianity was perfect in its present state and doing everything it should be doing; Christ would have long returned by now for his faithful. We must relegate the old, along with the traditions of men, and stand fully on the foundation of Christ, with our feet firmly planted on God’s word. The Bible, and the Bible along, is to be the sole torch of faith that is to guide men through the dark corridor of perils laying at the end of this world’s history.

    On or around the 17 th September there will be undeniable proof of the cataclysms to come. Before these times, and later, the Earth shall shake as if casting off a layer of unwanted skin. It will be as if we have been sleeping, and then told of a loved ones passing. First denial, anger, sadness, madness….acceptance.

    may 5 this year is also the date of the super moon (if i read it correctly) when the full moon is at its closest point to earth , i would not be surprised by strange tidal events or heightened seismic activity within the days around this event

    The elite has been preparing underground cities at least five miles down. Will anyone survive the days of reckoning??Vast Earthquakes Tidal waves and massive winds 300-400 mph will shake this planet. Interior quakes very deep in the earth will tear the planet asunder.Is it time to prepare not to survive but to move on.The universe and infinitude awaits.My great teacher told me yrs ago that everyone has to die but there is no death.Death must be crossing a threshold and preceeding onward.The earth was only a temporary home….

    I was born on May 1st. It seems May is a month of turmoil. The earth is in distress, just as the Bible says it will be in the end times, in Matthew chapter 24. We are living in perilous times. Thank God He is in control and will be until He returns to take His people home with Him. Bless all of you on this forum.

    As a fully ordained & graded Pagan priestess I cannot help but be saddened at the lack of knowledge being shown toward Pagan traditions – especially the manifestations of Our Lady. I shall try to pay forward some modicum of repect, some modicum of Truth without the normal bigoted propaganda.

    May. Named after a Greek Goddess. In the Northern Hemisphere it had, through the Ages – until the advent & spread of Christianity – been a time of great celebration. It is a month for thankfulness, blessings & hope. Many of the old superstitions regarding this most powerful time of year originate from ignorance & fear from the adherents of a new religion to the older Nature based one. Such is the way of the conquerer & sometimes the most simple explanations are the true ones, Truth without bigotry & the religious fanaticism that comes with it. Truth without fear & prejudice. All Pagans know instinctively or otherwise that this is the Truth, that the holy traditions were stolen & then assimilated into a new narrow patriachal religion that Pagans were forced to convert to & if not, were ruthlessly murdered, that our Gods & Goddesses were demonized in this dark New World where the White Christ held sway. And the most blasphemous of all, the most reprehensible & unforgivably stupid mistake that Mankind made – that our holiest of holy, our sacred Mother was stripped off Her power & stolen & reborn a sterile virgin, giving birth not to Nature’s bounties but to a God King. To suppress an archetype such as the Mother Goddess in such a way, robs the hearts & souls of Man & makes them wither.

    The Virgin Mary got most of the recognized Mother Goddess sites in this religious shakedown. These are extremely ancient. These are the sites that most “Marian” apparitions occur in. Most are recognized energy fields drawn together with ley lines. They are holy places, powerful in the extreme. These apparitions are the product of a combination of an electromagnetic force & the internal projection of the Mother Goddess in the brain of the experiencer which is part innate & part conditioned by one’s culture. Over time, early Man learned the places & times at which these apparations would most often appear & the rituals – mental exercises & conditioning of expectations – which would cause specially trained persons to become more sensitive to their presence. With time, they could attune themselves to the local Earth force which would enable them to use its powerful electromagnetic field to affect the bioelectromagnetic fields of humans and animals at a distance and thus cause healings, blightings and enchantment.
