11 Responses to Dollars and $ense: Eurozone debt crisis far from over- Greeks turn to barter system to survive

  1. This is what the world will have to implement in the future.. I have long thought that when the economy crashes and it will.. this new kind of exchange of Goods for services will start in the community.. After the Chaos of the Greed has died down.. for let’s not make any mistakes.. Chaos will ensue if people can’t get hold of Money..

I love bartering for things I want/need & I learned this from my Father, born in ’48, who learned from his Father, who was born in ’23. It’s a tool that has gone out of favor as people want the “newest”, the “best” & the “flashiest” instead of having any concern for what are simple needs. We, in the US, are a spoiled, greedy, dysfunctional group of people who, all to often, would rather something on Credit(for up to 28% interest) than wait till they have the money to purchase it &, again all to often, it’s a “want” & NOT a “need”. We, as a Country, are in for a VERY rude awakening.

So true Rob I’m in my early 20s and my peers are all about the flashier, best, etc. all my friends don’t understand why I don’t want an iPhone and I have a phone that’s just fine but they say but it has instagram and I have no idea what that is and I said that and they said exactly see you don’t have the latest stuff. Clearly I don’t give a crap about that kind of stuff but most of my peers that’s all they want and sadly their lives revolve around it.

  3. Thank you Rob! I have been saying this for a very long time…the more people have ,the more they want. We would all be better off with the simpler things in life…and a lot healthier physically and emotionally

If you are poor or nearly poor then this is the best way to do things! WE do not have to have new things always. there are so many ways to barter for what we need. Work it out among others either in neighborhood or in free ads in paper or on here but be careful people, some are not so honest and forthcoming about things. GBU for sharing this with us. Been there done that already!

Nigel Farage is maybe the last sane voice left in the crumbling edifice called the Eurozone. Notice the patronizing looks he gets from all the surrounding kleptocrats whose pockets are being filled by voting in the newest and “final” bailout. The sad fact is that we here are far worse off than the Eurozone. The day of reckoning approaches fast, be ready.

BARTER SYSTEM? If this could work across all of World’s Economy then maybe the NEW WORLD ORDER would be AVERTED.

You may get to see this barter system working yourself in the near distant future. The N.W.O. notwithstanding.

Dann – If such a thing were to actually happen, you can bet your shirt that those in control, would fight it….. and make such activity illegal.

“… that no man might buy or sell, unless he had the mark, or the number”. <- Sounds like a compulsory system, unfortunately : "… as many who refused to take the number or worship the beast…. were killed". 😦
