Ferndale, Michigan residents shaken by three mysterious booms and bright flashes

April 2, 2012 – MICHIGAN — Ferndale Police are investigating what might have caused three loud booms and light flashes that shook homes and concerned many local residents Saturday night. The booms were heard around 9:30-10 p.m. and may have originated near the area of Hilton and Marshall. More than 40 people posted on Ferndale Patch’s Facebook page about the incidents — describing flashes of light seen in the sky, their homes vibrating with the noise, and helicopters heard overheard following the sounds. A Ferndale Police dispatcher said last night at 12:30 a.m. that they investigated the noise but could not find its cause. He said fireworks were a possibility. Ferndale Police Lt. Casey O’Loughlin said Sunday morning that he was not aware of any reports made but said loud booms can be caused by fireworks. “That’s usually what loud booms turn out to be are fireworks,” he said. In Ferndale, any type of fireworks that explode or leave the ground are illegal, he said. O’Loughlin said he was not aware of any helicopters being sent out. Here’s what some Patch readers had to say about the noise:
•Agnes: I’m at W. Marshall and Pinecrest and we heard them. The first one shook my house too. I also heard low flying helicopters. Once, right before the first and loudest boom and then once again after the third “boom”. I went outside a couple of times . . . but nothing seemed to be going on. I wonder what happened?
•Cindy: There’s absolutely no way those were fireworks to shake people’s houses all over town, first of all…and, this is the 3rd or 4th time we’ve heard/felt some type of ‘explosion’ with absolutely no explanation from police at all. When/how are we going to get an answer!?
•Chris: I was inside the New Way…didn’t hear anything due to the music, but noticed a very bright flash of light out the window. It did not look like any fireworks I have ever seen…much brighter.
•Melissa: I was at the stop spot on  9 MILE, we saw the sky light up three times. It looked like lightening. –Ferndale Patch

    this is just getting crazy,I am beginning to believe that they are doing something,and covering it up,military tests?or planning for something,I dont know but this is getting really creepy.

    Start demanding under the FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT information on any/all US Government related testing to include systems like HAARP or other inner-space related technology. Also, I would seek local information regarding the increased activity / movement of trucks, trains, air traffic which could be centered around unidentified construction within mountainous and/or underground areas. The later, could also take into consideration airports > large shopping malls, or other fairly large facilities which could be excavated underneath and installations constructed unknown to the local population through diversionary parallel construction on the surface. I would seek information with regards to ‘local guests’ staying for long periods in hotels, motels, or homes rented out quietly to individuals or seemingly couples that have an invisible lifestyle. Don’t go off the edge with ‘X-Files’ type thinking. Stay on the ground 🙂

    In all my life, I’ve never experienced exploding fireworks causing my house to shake and where I live at now, large fireworks are used quite often during the spring/and summer at the local ball park. Sometimes mistaken for thunder. With all these reports, personally, if it is a pys-opn operation, underground digging or an forth coming earth change event, it is not going to bother me today. I am not going to let it play with my mind but i will be aware.

    There are reports of unexplained booms,shaking,& just strange noises and hums going on all over the globe. The Bible says that the earth will experience out of the ordinary stuff when JESUS CHRIST gets ready to return. These are signs. Get your life in order and make sure that you have asked JESUS to be your LORD and SAVIOR because the end is coming soon.

    I live within 30 miles of this area. I did not hear anything on the news.
    If indeed there were low flying helos, then the military is bringing their war toys into domestic play. They may be testing or looking for meth labs, to enroll local law enforcement. The flashes and booms, I have no idea. I’m sure they can xray technology to see right in your house, weapons, infrared and stuff that we had no idea of. The military is always 20 years ahead.
    When I was in topsail beach, NC, last easter, camp legume had helo runs on the ocean. Less than 200 yards away, I could not see it and it was very quiet. Without the two little lights on it, I would never knew it was there. Absolutely no reflection from area street lights. Actually, it may not have been a helo, at all. Very stealthy, indeed.

    I have had a similar experience about 3 weeks ago, of the strange loud noises. I live in Nottingham UK and around 1:30pm, my daughter told me that it was thundering outside. Impossible it was a clear blue sky with little clouds around. Indeed the sound was very loud like a large aircraft, so loud I could hear it from inside. I Stepped out on to my garden full view of the sky but nothing around. The loud strange aircraft sound or very large mechanical sound lasted a good 5 minutes. My honest opinion was it was no helicopter or aeroplane as I see these often. I do not live anywhere near an airport either, I would have to say it sounded like a massive aircraft descending from high above. I have only told few people for fear of being corrected as something explainable, of which there was none.

      I would hope that the Ferndale Police are capable of confirming “tearing down Theater Bizarre by the State Fairgrounds and lit off some dynamite” Karl; so that, we can start bringing these sounds down to practical earth 🙂

      on person heard and saw the event @ the New Way Bar, more than 2 miles from the Theatre Bizarre complex on St Fair Road. Dynamite doesn’t make a flash 2 miles away.
