I’ll have to run this through a converter, I don’t ‘do’ Farenheit;-) I can’t say we’ve had much of a winter here either. A few frosts last month, that’s probably about it. No snow, a bit of wind now and again, some rain, but temps have been springlike even in November!

I am in Ohio and I have buds on a couple of my maple trees. It is very warm here today although that should have little difference on trees bearing fruit. They should not have anything on them until the days start getting longer. It is as if the trees know there is something going on.

I agree Richard. I’m in Ohio also and normally I prepare myself for the bitter cold that we have grown to love (Not!). Our temps were in the 50’s today (Ohio in January?) with bright sunshine. Although I love these temps, I worry that with no snow/rain, we will suffer a drought come summer.

The weather has been completely off track around here N.W. Washington state, for several years now with this season being the very strangest of them all. A few days of freezing daytime temps, like 3 or 4 and then Spring like weather. The trees are all budding and I expect the flowers are popping out too.

This is going to be an odd year for planting food. Suggest you back-yard farmers seed as much as you can in doors -now- and be prepared to have them go into the ground as early as Feb, beginning of March. This is what hubby and me are going to do this weekend.

It certainly is a lot warmer than it should be but are these weather scientists that are warning of a scorching summer the same ones who said this winter was going to be much colder than last year? They connot predict the weather months from now. The winds we had in Scotland during the week were the worst I have ever seen, Hurricane Bawbag that we had a few weeks ago had nothing on those winds and there was no warning. The Met office gave a red alert warning about 15 mins before it was all over and it had been going on for hours before hand. Where I live we had gusts of 91 mph whereas Bawbag only reached maybe about 70mph +. All we can do is be prepared for the worst, and thanks to this site we do, maybe have a heads up.

Indeed! 52 here in Marlette, MI. Yesterday I was in Sterling Heights doing some shopping and a woman ( she was an employee of the store I was walking into as she was walking outside ) looked me straight in the eyes and said, “Did you hear that it is going to be 50 degrees today!?” I saw fear in her eyes and heard incredulity in her voice. She was not just making a statement of joy but rather an earnest query so I replied, “It is a Polar Shift we are experiencing.” She looked at me speechless so I continued to describe what this entails and she said, ” What are ‘they’ ( I am suppossing she believes that there are powers that be that can mitigate natural events ) doing about this?!”
I told her that there is nothing to be done as this reaches far into our galaxy and everything is being perturbed by the changes. I did tell her that the other Planets were heating up as well and experiencing massive changes and she just shook her head in resignation.
She then responded with a question within an understanding, ” Things will get worse?” I agreed with her and we went our seperate ways. I wanted to explain in depth what was going on but it would have taken hours…time I knew she could not spare…nor I as I have been ill with a sinus infection that keeps reoccurring. My husband, who is an avid runner and bikes 80 mile marathons, is also sick now for the past month. I am wondering if anyone here at these boards is experiencing upper respiratory illnesses that will not go away?
Could it be from the ash clouds and ancient pollens disturbed from their slumber? I can think of nothing else that makes any sense regarding the constant allergies and infections that many are suffering here in Michigan.
People are waking up….slowly.

I’ve had a sinus problem since this past June. Started when I was visiting Washington State and continues while I live here in Kansas. At first they thought it was allergies or perhaps a cold, so they gave me a z-pack and some flonaise. Shorty after I had a PET scan for something else, they saw residual pneumonia, so they gave me 10 days of antibiotics. That didn’t help, so I went under the premise that somehow I had developed allergies later in life and would wait until the first frosts to see if that would solve it. It didn’t. Went back to the doctor, who sent me to an allergist, who said that it could be a polyp or brain fluid seeping through my left nose. He ordered a sinus CT scan and then set me up with an appointment with Ear Nose Throat special that I have on Monday, but in the meantime, he ordered a 10 day moxifloxin, because he didn’t see anything and the nurse said it must be sinitus, which is a bacterial infection. However, I am still going to the ENT appoint and they made another follow up appointment with the allergy doctor after that??!!?? Weird. I’ll see what happens on Modnay.

I live in CA and my roomate and I have had sinus problems for the past few months as well. I also often hear people at work talk of their sinus infections they cannot seem to get rid of. My first instance was that it may be caused by the radiation that I am sure has reached our shores from Japan. Strange that is seems to be happening everywhere.

Jamie, I know several people in central Indiana that are having strange sinus conditions that won’t go away. Some have seen doctors and others have not. The ones who saw doctors are no better than those who went on antibiotics. I’m guessing this started about 6-8 weeks ago.

Hi Jamie and K8N. Regarding URI – suffered for a while now. Consider trying
NAC. http://www.advance-health.com/nacetylcysteine.html. I had this under control in the past using mucinex. Now I use NAC instead. The chemtrail spraying in CT has been out of control. NAC will also help chelate these heavy metals.
I have the 1,000 mg pills that I break in half. – 500 at breakfast (take extra C) and another 500 with supper. You’ll wake up in the morning swimming in easily expelled mucous.
Try it for a few days and see what happens. Don’t bother asking your doctor about this–they won’t know what you are talking about

K8N…..I do hope everything comes out alright with your CT. I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts. They gave my husband allergy medicine and antibiotics yesterday for a cough and upper respiratory infection. I have the same but do not take the allergy meds. Do take plenty of probiotics while on antibiotics so the good flora in your stomach is not destroyed. I take 2 a day. These illnesses are hanging on a lot longer than normal. Take care……
To joemozden; How long have you lived in Michigan? We have been here only 9 years. Have you ever seen a winter like this one?

I live in Washington, DC and this past weekend, on Saturday, the temperature reached shy of 70 degrees in the area, and between 65-68 in surrounding areas. The spring-like weather motivated me to go out jogging in shorts and a sweatshirt. Apparently hundreds others decided to take advantage of the good weather by riding bikes, jogging, walking, etc., at the same park trail I decided to go to. The next day, it snowed. We got about an inch or two. This has got to be the oddest winter season I’ve seen in a long time. After reading several posts about seed buds on trees, i’m going to pay a little more attention and see whether or not I see any in my area.

This is a major problem for me, Mr. Conway. Our temperatures are fluctuating wildly. 52 yesterday to 36 today to only god knows what tomorrow. It is difficult to manage these fluctuations…..at least from a physical point of view. In a dream I had last summer a soft snow covered my backyard as spring flowers were blooming in my front yard amid green grass. It was two seaons blended into one and I thought is was fascinating….but, I think most everything is fascinating. At this moment my tulips are coming up out of the ground. I have mint, parsley, bok choy, german chamomile, lemon thyme, sage and eucalyptus still growing in my side yard! They do not look any worse for the wear despite the occassional 5 degree nights. I am going to stay fascinated by these changes and welcome them as part of healthy renewal for all.
Always thankful for your consciousness and concern, Mr. Conway.

Here in Central Oregon, we haven’t had any snow to speak of. We have had a few snow storms but no great amounts and right now it is snowing but suppose to warm up the next couple of days into the 50’s so this snow won’t last. Normally we have lots of snow this time of the year. We’ve had temps running 30’s and 40’s during the day and we got down into single digits at night several times. It’s being one of those years I suppose. I remember back several years ago, we had 16 to 18 inches of snow fall on the 4th of July. Snow flake fire works! I was just wondering the same thing. The world appeared to be setup for a massive freeze this year, just 3 months ago.
The major arctic upheaval story, I think, goes to the massive methane outgassing in Siberia, right? It could be we’ve reached our “Seminal Event” for climate change, whether you think its a pole shift, or AGW at the root of all this.
As the author said, Climate Change is upon us.

It is true that these changes could identify global warming as the culprit but not the man made, green movement, money pit hype, we are being fed by our media. One only has to look at our own solar system to see that climate change is happening to almost all other planets in our solar system as well. Taking into concideration the weakning in both the earths magnetosphere and suns heliosphere and the wild weather patterns seen throughout the planets in our solar system there is much more going on here than we are being told. I have even read articales talking about huge cracks forming on titans frozen icy surface where the ice is many miles deep because of temperature and pressure changes on that moon. People need to wake up and realize that some issues are not local to our own little world and see that there is a much much larger change going in here. Man made global warming is a soft and easily digestible story the government is peddling because the real truth would likely turn our stomachs. Not pushing fear mongering but the facts just don’t add up.

It’s not a man-made issue. This is based on processes occurring within the planet’s interior acting, in some cases, in concert with space weather and stellar energy exchanges. The Earth vents heat through convection, its volcanoes (70% of which are under the ocean and unseen by man), and magma plumes. This prevents Earth from cracking open like an egg because internal pressures and gradient is so great within its interior. During a magnetic reversal, this process is exaggerated as atmospheric processes are overturned. There is nothing we can do to prevent it from getting worse. We are all tied to the earth and depend on it for sustenance but that relationship too, is being overturned as the ecology crashes in concert with ever more erratic and unpredicatble weather patterns. Once growing seasons begin to vanish in the hemispheres just as I warned they would, human extinction is not far behind.

Mid latitudes will be in flux until earths energy balance is stabilized. this happens with both heating and cooling. one must simply look at which Jet stream is causing the change. The polar jet is now the one with the most energy. Cooling is reaching far to the lower latitudes. This atmospheric mixing gives the illusion of warming to mid latitudes, reduces tropical cyclone intensity and frequency, while the planets energy is redistributed to the poles in an attempt to maintain the rise in temperature.. This illusion of warming will be short lived. enjoy the warm days, when the balance becomes closer and circulations settle the cold will return.. its a matter of thermal physics..

Yes…and what makes me cringe is that the meteorological websites ( such as ‘Accuweather’ ) made a bold prediction this past autumn that winter in the midwest would be the worst, yet, nothing could be further from the truth. I cringe because these scientists have an obligation to mankind to tell the truth…..which I see so little of in our world…….yet they continue to ignore the signs and the facts. Piers Corbyn has a great site and his predictions are usually spot on…..and he is completely ridiculed by the mainstream scientists. That fact alone should lend him enormous credibility!

I agree. Anyone who has been watching the weather patterns for the past sixty years has noticed very significant changes which no one reports on TV or in the papers.

Montreal, Canada. For the second year, no snow, freezing rain, rain but no snow. I’m a winter sport enthousiast, so you can imagine how sad I am. We can’t even go skating because one day it’s melting, the next day it’s freezing. Usually, in mid-november we could go skiing and crosscountry skiing, january-february was the best time with tons of snow. Not anymore, the winter economy is taking a dive, tourism, clothes, shovels… But again, because we had a record snowfall winter four years ago, nobody is taking this seriously.

David Wikerson, in a vision the Lord had given him back in the 1970’s, stated that there would come a time that the weather would become so erratic that weathermen would no longer be able to predict the weather with any accuracy. I think that time is increasingly coming upon us.

The weather in Houston Texas is very strange temperature, 75 degrees in January. The leaves on the trees fell off and grew back three times. When I talk about it to friends no one seem to care, everyone is like a zoombie. I am afraid of summer, last summer was so hot, when I went outside I felt like the sun was sitting on the back my neck, it was unbareable.

I have experienced the same up here in Michigan, geisha. The Sun feels as if it is boring a hole through my back and neck. I am an avid outdoorsperson so am quite accustomed to the feel of the Sun, and, can say that this is a very different Sun than I am used to. I am glad to see so many of us reporting what we are experiencing.

Jamie, same here – I grew up on the beach in Australia & was always tanned by my birthday in early November. I wouldnt dare go lie in the Sun anymore & I cover up when I am outdoors. It is far too dangerous now to do so, even on milder days, I can feel the sting through clothing let alone bear the feel of it on my bare skin.

The weather here in central Virginia is highly unusual with highs in the middle 60s. It’s not just for a few days. It’s continuing through the middle of January ! Something is nuts…

I believe winter is coming fast. 70 degrees in Richmond, Virginia. But saw 2 big flocks of geese flying south at 7 in the morning. the birds were flying hard and fast!

The extreme flucations is the issue and that’s worst than long frigid cold spells because if you plant anything during the warm spells, the sudden cold snap will likely kill it. Plants and animals are also similarly thrown into confusion by the wild spectral swings in temperatures. As long as the weather continues to behave erratically, agricultural ecology will be taxed as a result. And as the planet’s jet stream is bouncing across the globe, Earth’s magnetic field continues to weaken.

It’s interesting that you mention geese. I, too, live in Virginia. I live in Northern Virginia along the DC/MD border and I’ve seen flocks of what I think are Canadian Geese migrating to and fro. I wasn’t sure if that was typical or not.

East coast is somewhat warm today. Except pretty cold earlier in week; but then by Thursday this week started warming up. But overall, it’s been mild since November. Sometimes when we get this kind of weather, snow is not far behind, although I kind of doubt that, but who knows. Spring is right around the corner and no winter to call home ;(

Hey the sun goes through cycles and it is what heats our planet. The sun has been putting off mass ejections? What heats our Planet ? yes class ,it is widely known that the SUN is entering a period of increased activity …… sun heats up? Earth heats up ?Our Earth goes around the sun and that orbit itself changes through time. Let’s not forget that we are traveling through space at millions of miles an hour, our Milky-way galaxy itself spinning and zipping on through space and time. If the majority had any grasp of the magnitude of the complexity of it all, the world would be a different place. We have a north pole that is on the move. Personally I say sit back and enjoy the ride, because we can’t control the weather and to think that we are the main cause of weather change, well then ,we just have to think what a few volcanos would do or just look at the past and the mid-evil warm period or the little ice age and realize that on a planet traveling through space at millions of miles an hour ( time itself ) predicting weather is quite complex. Our planet goes through weather changes, much of it beyond our control ( ocean currents, sun spots , air currents ) when science can control all these factors ,then we can live on a planet where weather holds to the norm. THERE IS NO NORMAL WEATHER, it fluctuates just as a plant’s/solar systems, galaxy’s path does (think bigger and look at the sun) it is in charge, not us …………..

Actually the sun is not gaining output. As a fission reaction it is fairly constant it is the unseen portion of gravitational change (which is energy transference) and how it affects planet albedo. Solar cycle 25 is looking to be VERY LOW (1/2 of the current). the low gravitational output allows galactic radiation to interact with water creating clouds… this simple change cause cooling or warming… the ENSO, ADO and other oscillations have decade/multidecadle trends. its the long term ones that cause warming or cooling.. and when the Sun goes dormant for 60+ years its fairly obvious what will happen to the earth.

It’s the same here in the Southern Hem just reversed. Here in South Australia we have had an extremely mild Summer so far. Normally our temps during this part of the year are extremely high – in the high 30c ‘s to high 40c ‘s – with little rainfall. We had a heat blast a few days ago for about 4 days then alot of rain & now temps have slid right back down. It’s very wet here also, we have had two big hail storms in the last month yet there are areas that are not getting any at all, seems to be localized.

I work up at a ski resort in Colorado and this is the worst winter anyone’s ever seen. Today is the first time we’ve gotten snow accumulation in a month, and even then, it’s just a few inches. All the resorts are really hurting because no one’s getting any snow. It’s very strange.

I have been carefully reading all of the comments here. And the one thing I have to say is – I agree with all of you. The weather, as we are use to, is totally out of whack. At least it is for us. Even The Weather Channel is saying “Where is Winter?” (By the way, The Weather Channel is talking about “possible” tornadoes.)
What I am concerned about here is that we will have all of this warm weather, then late in the season a miserable cold spell. By that time our vegetation will have blossomed and then freeze. Then come summer we will have hot hot weather with no reserve water table to help us. Personally, I was prepared for a hard, cold winter (which I thought was forcasted). Now I know I might have to prepare for a hot and very dry summer.
However the one thing we need to remember is, this is January. The harsh reality of winter could (will?) hit us in February or maybe March. Although I always wanted to go into the field of meteorology, I don’t think I would want to try to do any forecasting of weather.
The one thing I also agree with is the attitude of the people. Yes, they are clueless zombies. So many are thrilled with the weather (except for those involved with winter activities and jobs). And although I love this weather since I really can’t handle cold weather (strange for someone living in Ohio, I know), I also understand the logic of having snow. So many people do not understand what is going on and what the reprucussions will be. They don’t understand that crops will fail and, unless we get precipitation, water may be at a premium. 2012 may not be the end of the world, but it will be a may be a life-changing experience.

the current models are bunk… using static data where dynamic is required makes them garbage.. they cant even go backwards from today with any accuracy beyond 6 hours.. when you cant even replicate short term past what makes you think that going forward will have any different result?

I live in the middle part of germany. on christmas I found the first new leafs at the ” wilde waldrebe” and yesterday there have been baby snails all over the place. It’s not that warm but it’s not winter. there is a smell in the air that tells of life .only the wind sometimes is cold. But the birds are there, singing. strange how they went away in summer, none of them left behind and came back in autumn, went away and now they are back again.

In Warsaw, Poland it’s 4 degrees C and in Moscow it’s 5 degrees….normally it should be -15 degrees at least.

Despite a lack of snow cover, it is cold as usual here in Northern NH. Several Nights of well below Zero temps already. Coldest so far -10 degrees F. This mornings low was 6 degrees F. So, we got plenty of cold here. Just no snow. About an inch of snow cover on ground. Should have at least a foot of snow cover by now.

It’s all written in the planets and stars and giant cycles that we can neither change, not divert. Our only choices are:
a) Go with the flow, which must mean mixing back with the elements
b) Learn to swim against the flow, like Salmon, lay eggs for the next, the new.
Anything else is just delaying the in-evitable.
