Japan’s March 11th massive earthquake altered the planet’s gravitational field

December 8, 2011TOKYOLast week, we learned that the massive Tohuku earthquake that rocked Japan earlier this year shifted the sea floor of the Pacific Ocean by about 50 meters. Today, New Scientist informs us that the same earthquake was so powerful that it altered the planet’s gravitational field and, in turn, the orbits of satellites circling Earth. The findings were made by two satellites that make up NASA’s Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment, or GRACE, which has the express purpose of monitoring fluctuations in the Earth’s gravitational field, which are caused by adjustments in the planet’s mass, such as those caused by the melting of polar ice caps. How did GRACE come to the conclusion that satellites were knocked slightly off course? The researchers calculated how the relative velocity of the two satellites changed as they passed over the affected region. GRACE records variations in the gravity field due to other processes too, but these background signals change over larger timescales than that of the quake, and so could be identified and subtracted. The leftover signal showed that the rate at which the distance between the two GRACE satellites changed – the so-called range rate – was twice as high in the month after the earthquake as in the month prior to the event. Only two earthquakes since 2002 had been recorded as altering the gravitational field – the 2004 Indian Ocean quake and last year’s megaquake in Chile – and now the Tohuku quake has joined that rarified company. The GRACE team also found that monitoring shifts in satellite orbits could give a more accurate reading of how powerful an earthquake was, as their findings suggest the quake was a 9.1 on the Richter scale, compared to the 9.0 that Earth-based sensors arrived at. –The Mark
Planet’s stability eroding: Even before the March 11, 2011 9.0 earthquake which struck Japan, on December 25, 2010, I warned that the planet’s stability was eroding due to a consecutive string of large-scale seismic events impacting the globe. As tectonic plate tension increases from the geological change currently sweeping across the planet, Earth’s stability is at increased risk from a lurch event brought on by another large magnitude earthquake in the upper 8 or 9.0 range. The picture on the left of the Earth taken shortly after the March 11 earthquake in Japan by the European Space Agency’s GOCE’s satellite shows the true shape of the Earth based on its gravitational field. Its lopsided physique, which has been repeatedly battered by 3 very strong earthquakes over the short span of 9 years, is an indication of the dangerous deformation of the planet’s stability, which is only further stressed by angular momentum. It’s a deformed geoid that’s becoming more stressed to spin. Another significant large earthquake will only exacerbate an already deteriorating situation and could increase risks of a seismic lurch-type event where tectonic plates are shoved several meters rather than their routine centimeters- creating a cascading double or rippling earthquake event that could leave the planet reeling from a breakout of global aftershocks. This would not be a crustal slip but it would certainly be a precursor to it. – © The Extinction Protocol

I was watching “Japan’s Killer Earthquake” on NOVA (PBS). The geologists said that they had been concerned about a possible quake south of Tokyo. One that would be a 9.0 magnitude quake. They were surprised by the magnitude of the March 11 quake and that it took place place some 200 + miles north of Tokyo. They believe that the quake added more stress to the nearby tectonic plates, especially the one south of Tokyo.

    “…by about 50 meters…”

Like unfaithful Thomas, I would like to see a some scientific evidence…

What worries me both as a human being and first-call disaster worker, is not really what has happened yet, but what has NOT happened. Since the minor quakes in the well-known “Ring of Fire”/indonesian region have been much less frequent the last months, there is a high risk that
the tensions building up will be released in a very large earthquake, possibly during this winter.
I have been working with disaster aid, mainly body recovery, and trying to minimize spread of contagious disease in both diaster-struck and our own society the last 24 years. I am really concerned about the development we see here. Also – I would like to warn you that the common Norovirus outbreaks this year is something you should really take seriously. The virus should be
avoided, no effort spared. Stay safe.

Why do you say that? Has the virus mutated? If so, why don’t we see that info on TV?

Another precursor to the events described in Revelation 6 (and elsewhere), along with the forecasted red moon and the fireballs/”stars” falling from the sky, that looms in the near distance, a worldwide quake, a “great earthquake…and every mountain and island was removed from its place. Then…EVERYONE, slave and free, hid in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, calling to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand before it?” Revelation 6:12-17

A worldwide earthquake? A sun, black as sackcloth? From the smoke of, so far, thirteen awakened volcanoes? And what might happen should the ground snap beneath our feet? Would they all erupt?

Thank you, Alvin, for keeping us informed, and for providing links for us to investigate for ourselves, that we might “search the scriptures, day after day” (Acts 17:11) and realize for ourselves that you speak the truth.

What is interesting is that during these last days, with all that is happening around us, we should be keeping watch, yet many are too busy playing on their iphones, ipads and wii’s, watching the newest movies, and reading the latest gossip in a magazine. A very interesting time to be living and yet many have no clue and some don’t even care. It’s as if television, etc., and cnn is designed to keep us uninformed and even influencing us that things are okay by releasing ‘feel good’ movies. i’m not saying i’m against any of this, it’s just an interesting thought… 🙂

Did you ever have to read “Brave New World” in school? A re-read would explain a lot about why we’re being spoonfed the latest must-have gizmos and the most meaningless tripe on the tube. There’s an old saying about mushrooms that comes to mind… Keep us in the dark and feed us ****!

  6. I believe we should allow the Japanese to lease land in far north Queensland for 99 years to escape this possible tragedy.
