Residents still looking for answers in death of thousands of birds washed ashore

October 29, 2011 – ONTARIO – The Ministry of Natural Resources is investigating after hundreds of birds and fish washed up on the shores of Georgian Bay near Wasaga Beach. Police say that the wildlife was scattered along a nearly three-kilometre stretch north of Wasaga Beach. “You just want to cry,” resident Faye Ego told CTV Toronto. Locals said they noticed some dead fish on the beach a few weeks ago and a few dead birds earlier in September. “But now this is just multiplied,” Ego said, adding that the situation is “absolutely devastating.” Ontario Provincial Police Const. Peter Leon said that the number of dead birds was estimated to be between 5,000 and 6,000. Cindy Parkin, a resident of the area, said that answers are needed. “I’d like to get it cleaned up and figure out what it is, too,” Parkin said. “It’s pretty scary.” Ministry of Natural Resources officials said that the deaths could be the result of botulism. Botulism thrives in low oxygen environments often found in zebra mussel colonies. The Ministry said that more testing needs to be done. –CTV

    It is also possible that the death of these birds and fish my have come from methane/natural gas leaks. It has been alleged before that natural gas leaks might have been responsible in bird and animal deaths.
    Just a thought…………

    Thousands of birds (they look like penguins, my favorite…so sad) die at once from botulism? Uh, no, I don’t buy that. They have been surviving for God only knows how many hundreds of thousands of years there, I’m sure they have it genetically encoded in them not to eat mussells in low oxygen areas. I don’t buy all of these explanations for the mass animal die-offs we have been having this last couple of years. These animals have survived longer than man and they instinctually know what they can and cannot eat. A handful dying in a bacteria bloom area, maybe, but not thousands of animals. I think that’s BS, much like the ‘firecrackers’ to explain the thousands of black birds dying in the midwest earlier in the year. It’s either something natural yet very unusual and dangerous happening, or it’s something man has done (one of our wacky HAARP-style experiments or something).

    I saw this on the news on Monday. It really upset me seeing all these dead birds. I’m a huge animal lover (especially birds, I have one myself) and hearing about this type of thing, brings tears to my eyes, especially when it hits so close to home. I know a few people who have cottages up that way. My cottage is about 2 hours from Wasaga Beach, hopefully whatever is killing all these animals, wont spead to my lake.

    Has anyone else noticed that a relatively large number of postings here involve stories out of Ontario? The weird unidentified rumbling comes to mind, but I’m pretty sure there have been others, as well. What’s up with that?

    I believe that the tectonic plate separations that caused both major and minor earthquakes leech a gas like substance into the waters…it is something toxic that comes from underneath the bottome of the waters. Possibly sulfer or a combination of toxicities. I believe that if the Georgian Bay water floor were to be scanned, say by oceanic radar, a breech would be found, a chasm if you will where this substance is emitting from, into the waters.
    Not only here, but in several areas of seismic activity in the last year near oceans, bay’s etc. As for Japan ocean sea life mutations and death’s, the obvious is their nuclear melt down.

    Scary indeed that is a large number. Dead birds on beach. Why is it mainly fish and birds dying? I know other animals have been found too but mainly it’s fish and birds.

    Devasting and very disturbing. I don’t think it’s Botulism, perhaps a sulpuric based gas leaking from the lake bed is responsible…….

    Very sad indeed. We’ve been feeding songbirds for 20 years or so. About 2 months ago they disappeared. I’ve NEVER seen them leave for 2 months in the fall. Times are scary right now. All I can say is prepare for uncertain times. Have plenty of food, water & ammo on hand. One can only hope that God takes us first!

    I heard about a situation in Canada where they have been sequestering CO2 for about ten years. The CO2 migrates underground and comes back up. The situation I read about involved ponds on a farm where the water was contaminated by the migrated CO2 and was killing all kinds of animals. I’m not sure this scheme of sequestering CO2 underground is such a good idea!

    I noticed during most of the “Mass Animal Deaths” Goverment Officials state they are going to do test to ascertain the cause…. yet… has anyone ever seen a published definitive answer to the test? I have searched them left and right to no avail. There is never any answer. Example: The seals on the East Coast. I have also noticed a re-reoccurring theme with song birds in various states. Many people are stating their feeders have no birds on them. Why has no one looked into this? All this death, and no answers?

      I too have been wondering what the autopsy reports are for all these mass die offs. People laugh and think we are making mountains out of molehills yet they won’t give evidence to prove us otherwise on this case.

      The most likely theory is gases given off from underwater volcanism killing fish and flocks of birds flying into HARRP rings
