6.7 magnitude earthquake strikes off the eastern coast of Papua New Guinea

October 14, 2011Papua New Guinea – A 6.7 magnitude struck off the coast of Eastern Papua New Guinea. The earthquake struck at a depth of 45.4 km (28.2 miles). The epicenter of the earthquake was 103 km (64 miles) E of Lae, New Guinea, PNG and was 2372 km (1473 miles) NNW of BRISBANE, Queensland, Australia. The earthquake is just the latest in a series of sizable earthquakes that have rattled areas in the Ring of Fire in the South Pacific over the last 45 days. –The Extinction Protocol

  2. We had been going through a period of fairly mild (under 6.0) for a bit, but now I see they’re starting up again. Now I wonder how long this round will last.
