Magma plume: 5.1 magnitude earthquake strikes near Easter Island

October 11, 2011Easter IslandA 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck the region of the Easter Island at a depth of 13.6 km or 8.5 miles. The number of magma plumes or ‘hotspots’ now recording seismic or volcanic activity due to a flux in the planet’s thermal gradient is increasing as our above map from a month ago of the planet’s hotspots prove. Easter Island is the latest flashpoint. I warned this would happen at the planet’s hotspots back in May of this year. That was 2 months before seismic activity began erupting on the island of El Hierro on July 17. See the link below.  –The Extinction Protocol
Easter Island has a rich volcanic history. Volcanologists expect that the next volcanic eruption on the island will be of the “strombolian monogenetic type,” producing a cone of between 30 and 250 metres in height and a lava flow of between 100 and 10,000 metres in length. One of the most heavily populated areas in the north east of the island has experienced the highest level of volcanic activity over the past 11,000 years, and it is therefore likely that this volcanic activity will continue in future. However, it is impossible to predict when such an eruption will take place. “While it is possible to determine where there is the greatest future danger, our current understanding of volcanic phenomena does not allow us to predict when an eruption will take place,” explains Rodríguez-González. However, the researchers say that currently “the number of eruptive centres is on the increase, and periods of volcanic inactivity are getting shorter.” They also warn that over the past 11,000 years “the amount of magma released has increased, as has the explosivity of eruptions.” –Science Daily

Alvin, you said that this hotspot is ”a sign the planet is in trouble.” It has slipped my mind but how does this mean the planet is in trouble?

Just a half hour earlier there was a 4.9 quake in Pakistan. The p-wave from this, focused near Easter Island. Is p-wave just theory, and this is just coincidence, or can it affect tectonics on the opposite side of the planet.? Thanks in advance for any answers.

Well, someone who knows estimated that the Earth may become unbearable in 2-5 years to live on if events continue to unfold as posted here.
I am just curious to see if there is soon going to be an intervention on our behalf?

    Just a thought…………………….

just wondering – what’s the swarm in Eastern Australia and what’s the risk to Australia and NZ?
    thanks

    • It was a series of tremors that went from a tremors in 2010 to a swarm this year. We’ll have to see what that next stage of geological activity is with the Pacific and Australian-Indo plates. It’s only one stress point- at this juncture.

    • We’re pass the point of no return as far as more subterranean pressurization…and it will progressively grow more chaotic from here. Despite all the activity at the planet’s hotspots; we’re still not seeing any massive release of magma in a major eruptive event, so the gases and pressures will only keep simmering towards something else catastrophic.

I believe that this is just the beginning. I have followed the pole movements and believe the sun spots turning toward earth with cause problems on earth. I feel our warning has been the earthquakes in the Pacfic and Japan. Most people I talk with like Maria have no idea what is happening and have no interest in listening to you. It is going to be a sad day when it all comes down. Thank you for putting out information, but , will they read it?

    • Your sentiment and concern for others is gracious James. All we can do is put the information out there. When I started doing this 2 years ago- most people could not envision any of the changes now taking place happening to the planet. So, with each event; you’re slowly rolling back the paradigm. As long as people are winning at the roulette wheel, they have little incentive to leave the casino and catch the bus. When people are dislodged from their material possessions, their money is devalued and their plans for the future are interrupted by the immediate crisis of survival in the wake of catastrophes- then, sadly, this message will garner their attention. I regret it has to come to this…

      peace and blessings,

Can you quantify with your best guess in years ( I assume you don’t mean months) what exactly you mean by “running out of time”? Thanks.

    • We about at the stage where geological episodes will not be measured by time in more but by the previous event. In other words, we’re entering a period of catastrophism that is likely also rooted in the planet’s magnetic pole migration and subsequent reversal.

What is the main cause of the increase in deep plumes. Is it the magnetic fields weaking

    Like

    • Volcanism is closely related to magnetism. Plumes are natural vents in the Earth where thermal dissipation occurrs through magmatic depressurization from the lower mantle to the surface. If there were no vents, the Earth would crack like an egg because pressures and heat are unimaginably high in the planet’s interior. The planet Venus has about 9 magma plumes similar to Earth also.

Thank you for being here Alvin I haven’t read your book yet. ‘I’m holding it together homeschooling my 3 children and taking care of a neighbor who is in his very last days before he meets Christ face to face. I’m glad he will be gone before it all gets worse. We haven’t been able to even let him listen to the news, it gets him so upset. My children are now clicking in to see what you have posted and I believe it has helped them see the realities of God ‘s word inaction verses our peaceful upper NY farm life.

A series of earthquakes have been recorded along the Puerto Rico Trench, near the the British/U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, during the past week.

30 earthquakes, ranging in magnitude from 2.7 to 3.5, have been recorded in the region, according to the United States Geological Survey (U.S.G.S.). The majority of the tremors occurred to the north of the Virgin Islands and to the northwest of Puerto Rico.

None of the islands have active volcanoes but earthquakes exceeding 7 magnitude on the Richter Scale have occurred in the region during the last 100 years (see below).

Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, and the Dominican Republic do not have active volcanoes; however, they are at risk from earthquakes and tsunamis. The Puerto Rico Trench is capable of producing earthquakes greater than magnitude 8.0.

An earthquake measuring 4.6MI on the Richter scale was felt throughout Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands on the afternoon of 27 September, 2011. The epicenter was located 5km (3 miles) northwest from The Settlement Anegada at a depth of 41.9km. A magnitude 4.7 earthquake, the strongest to hit the Puerto Rican region this year, was recorded on 21 May. It was recorded 118 km east of Higüey, according to the EMSC.

The islands are located along the Puerto Rico Trench, an oceanic trench located on the boundary between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. The trench is associated with a complex transition between the subduction zone to the south along the Lesser Antilles island arc and the major transform fault zone or plate boundary that extends west between Cuba and Hispaniola through the Cayman Trench to the coast of Central America.

The island of Puerto Rico lies immediately to the south of the fault zone and the trench. The trench is 800 kilometres (497 mi) long and has a maximum depth of 8,000 metres (26,247 ft) at Milwaukee Deep, which is the deepest point in the Atlantic Ocean and the deepest point not in the Pacific Ocean.

Scientific studies by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) have found that an earthquake occurring along this fault zone could generate a significant tsunami. NOAA stated: “A large fault system, which is similar to the San Andreas Fault in California, was discovered in very deep water near the trench. Much of the horizontal sliding between the North American and Caribbean plates occurs along this fault. The fault was named after Dr. Elizabeth (Betty) Bunce, a marine geophysicist pioneer who investigated this challenging environment in the 1950s.”

Since 1988, the Puerto Rican Seismic Society has been using the Puerto Rican media to inform people about a future earthquake.

    Puerto Rico Trench Earthquake/Tsunami History

Tectonic and seismic map of Puerto Rico Trench area. Arrows show direction of plate movements. USGS.On 11 October 1918, the western coast of the island was hit by a major earthquake (7.5 magnitude), which produced a tsunami. In 1953, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, was affected by the Santo Domingo earthquake. The 1918 earthquake was caused by an old left-lateral strike-slip fault near the Mona passage. The actual subduction zone (Puerto Rico Trench) hasn’t ruptured in over 200 years.

Puerto Rico in particular has always been an area of concern to earthquake experts because, apart from the 1918 episode, there are frequent cases of tremors in and around the island. A 1981 tremor was felt across the island, while another in 1985 was felt in the towns of Cayey and Salinas.

Other significant earthquakes in the region:
    1787 – Anegada Trough: 8.1m
    1867 – Mona Canyon: 7.5m
    1946 – Mona Canyon: 7.5m
    1946 – Dominican Republic: 8.1
    1953 – Dominican Republic: 6.9

During 2010 the Puerto Rico Seismic Network (PRSN) located 1681 tremors, 1058 less than previous year, 2010. 68 earthquakes were reported as felt. The magnitudes calculated by the PRSN during 2010 ranged from 0.5 to 5.70. Depths were distributed between 0.3 to 200.7 km, while for felt earthquakes depths ranged from 0.2 to 159.1 km.

Alvin, my heart breaks for these people. They call us doomsdayers, lunatics, and my all time favorite, fear mongerers. They love that word! Yeah well, they’re gonna know fear mongering during the Tribulation. I’ve heard more reports of fissures and cracks opening up in countries. Is this a concern Alvin?

    Like

    • Yes, it is a concern because I describe a condition in the latter stages of this crisis where the lithosphere will become more and more compromised by faults, subsidence and fissures. It’s just more signs that this process is inching into uncharted territory.

well ‘uncharted’ in historical terms but the Myths and stories are a collective subconscious of these cyclic events… the Inner and outer core is the culprit causing the deep plumes in the magma, (Core =AKA: the dwarf companion Sun of legend & myth)
