Last piece of the puzzle, part 2: Earth catastrophism, El Hierro, cosmic rays and the planet Mercury

33 year window of geological catastrophism (1783-1816): We’re back to another period of catastrophism similarly to what occurred on the planet 228 years ago. This period began with the most deadly eruption in modern history- the Laki volcanic fissure eruptions in Iceland. The 1783-1784 eruptions killed an estimated 6 to 7 million people across the globe from its volcanic fallout. Iceland sits over a magma plume. In 1793, El Hierro, which similarly sits over a magma plume, erupted as did the Unsen volcano in Japan which resulted in an landslide and tsunami which killed 15,000 people. 23 years later, Tambora erupted in Indonesia and killed 92,000. Clearly, these periods of hyper-volcanism means volcanoes can be stirred across the planet in concert with earthquakes. Large destructive earthquakes accompanied the volcanism during this turbulent 33 year period. The 1797 Riobamba 8.3 earthquake in Ecuador killed 41,000. A 8.4 earthquakes struck Sumatra, Indonesia the same year. In 1802, a 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck Romania, and in 1810, a 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck Crete and killed 2000 people. Between 1811-1812, a 8.1, 7.8, and a 8.0 magnitude earthquake all struck the New Madrid fault zone in the U.S. and in 1812, Santa Barbara and Wrightwood, California were both hit by 7.0 magnitude earthquakes. Perhaps equally intriguing, this 33-year window period almost coincides exactly with the Dalton Minimum (below) of low solar activity proving that it is not the Sun that is exciting these earthchanges but it is the cosmic radiation (cosmic rays) that seeps into interplanetary space when the Sun is quiescent as I stated in my book. –The Extinction Protocol

NASA’s latest findings from the planet Mercury (September 30, 2011)

The book validated by latest research: “Since the planet’s main heating source is radioactive decay; could incoming cosmic rays be the catalyst accelerating the decay process and thereby increasing the planet’s interior temperatures? The effects would be visible in increased ocean temperatures and thus a more erratic climate system, increasing volcanism, seismic activity and the venting or depressurization of magma, liquid and gaseous hydrocarbon reservoirs (oil seepage and methane explosions), this is all part of what’s known as the geo-nuclear climate theory.” –The Extinction Protocol, page 208

These neutrons further interact with surface material, resulting in the emission of gamma rays with energies characteristic of the emitting elements and low-energy (“slow”) neutrons. Naturally occurring radioactive elements such as potassium (K), thorium (Th), and uranium (U) also emit gamma rays. Magnetic pole-shift, cosmic rays and volcanism: Another paper found that the vast flat plains on Mercury were not caused by eruptions from volcanoes but were fashioned from large amounts of lava that seeped up from cracks in the ground and flooded the surface. The scorching-hot lava also carved teardrop-shaped islands into the surface, which are visible near the edges of these plains. Mercury is “essentially wallpapered by huge volumes of lava,” said James Head, a planetary geoscientist at Brown University and lead author of that study. “Volcanism is important because it represents the pulse of the planets,” he added. “It’s like the blood of the interior: Is it not doing much inside, or is it really active?” Researchers also discovered that the planet’s magnetic field is shifted about 300 miles north from the equator. This could mean there are strange, lopsided internal dynamics occurring in the churning liquid metal in the core. “There’s something very intriguing going on with that that we don’t understand yet,” said study lead author Brian Anderson, a space physicist at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. –LA Times  September 30, 2011
