Turbulent region of the Sun turning Earthward- X-class flare unleashed by large sunspot

     
September 22, 2011MAJOR X-FLARE: Earth-orbiting satellites have detected a long-duration X1.4-class solar fare coming from a new sunspot on the sun’s eastern limb. The region is encircled in the picture above. The blast, which peaked at 1100 UT, produced a significant CME. However, the cloud is not heading in our direction.Space Weather

    IF ANYONE HAS BEEN WONDERING WHY THEY HAVE BEEN HAVING ALL KINDS OF DROPED CALLS ON THERE CELL PNONES THIS IS WHY

    • I haven’t noticed any difference in my cell phone coverage, but then I’m not on my phone that much. So thankful I am not working in the (unnamed) cell phone call center anymore. Imagine trying to explain all of this to an irate customer who has no idea what you are talking about. I had enough problems explaining outages due to simple storms.
