Geomagnetic storm watches issued for next 48 hours

September 9, 2011GEOMAGNETIC STORM WATCH: A series of coronal mass ejections (CMEs) propelled toward Earth by the recent eruptions of sunspot 1283 will deliver glancing blows to Earth’s magnetic field on Sept. 9th – 11th. High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras in the nights ahead. Meanwhile, a M6.7-Class solar flare erupted from sunspot 1283 on September 8th. –Space Weather

Is there a site reference that explains CME correlation to earthquakes?
    Thanks

I was just thinking the same thing….. If there is a “major” eq in the next 48 hrs, then I’ll be convinced that there’s a connection….

Alvin, what are your thoughts regarding a relationship between CME’s and eq’s? I noticed there was a significant CME on March 9th… 2 days later, upon arrival, japan eq and tsunami….

Greetings Alvin, Thanks for all yor hard work in keeeping this sit up and the research you have put into your book (got the new addition: facinating). Do the e-mail outages experienced by Microsoft e-mails today numbering in the 300 + million range fit in with the solar activity?
God Bless and keep up the great work.

I wish I lived in Norway!

    Location:

    Instrument room polarlightcenter Lofoten Norway.

    Details:

Today. sept.09 2011 at 12.45 UTC the first CME arrived as a magnetic shockwave on my instruments. There is also an effect in signal strength from my vlf receivers, coming through electrons in the solarwind cloud. The magnetic field is unstable at the moment,it means a big change for auroras coming night.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRACEY!! know anybody who can jet you over to Norway quick quick?

  8. (2) 6.7’s in Vancouver island in the last hour. I would love to see a statistician crunch the numbers on the coincidence of CME’s with moderate to large quakes.

“I think what’s happening is about a failed connection between Earth and Sun rather than the opposite.”

    Alvin, you are very good.

I have been thinking could whatever is going on in the earth be upsetting the sun.

I thought that because I read an article where the guy says the earth will pull away from the sun. Also an article about the moon pulling earth and how the moon is widening its orbit and getting closer to the sun.

Perhaps with all the highly active radiation brewing throughout the earth’s oceans/seas from Fukashima, causes adverse reactions among the relationship between the earth and the moon which than has an effect on the sun in relation and return.
The point to focus upon is that highly active radioactive material (not waste) is/has been literally brewing since mid March 2011.
