Tropical storm and hurricane updates for September 8, 2011

September 8, 2011MIAMIThe U.S. hurricane season for 2011 has been steady and somewhat costly for storm systems that have made landfall in the U.S., Mexico and the Caribbean. Here’s the latest snapshot of  storm systems currently churning in the world’s oceans and an update below from Hurricane Tracker. –The Extinction Protocol
Tropical Storm Nate is expected to become a hurricane by Saturday as it tracks northeast across the Gulf of Mexico. Forecasters at the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) have been following the weather system since Tuesday morning when a low pressure area in the southern Gulf of Mexico became better organised. It rapidly strengthened into a tropical storm on Wednesday. Over the weekend the system is expected to track northeast and then east toward southern Texas, southwest Louisiana, and the Mexican States of Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas. Nate is presently located in the Gulf of Campeche, approximately 125 miles (200km) west of Campeche (Mexico) and 180 miles (290 km) northeast of Coatzacoalcos (Mexico). According to the NHC: “Nate is moving toward the southeast near 1 mph (2 km/h). An erratic eastward or northeastward motion is expected Thursday, followed by a slow northward to north-northwestward motion on Friday. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 50 mph (85km/h) with higher gusts. Tropical Storm force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km) from the centre. Some additional strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours.” –IWO

As the narrative says …’ Katia moving away from the US, very good news’ – NOT if you are in Scotland … that is the path indicated.

  3. @Ian – praying that Katia will weaken enough so it’s just a small storm by the time it reaches you.

Also pray for a miracle for Nate. Praying that he will head up towards Texas and not into Mexico. An Almighty God is able to perform such miracles.

    Be blessed and Maranatha
