Solar wind from double coronal hole on Sun should reach Earth, Aug. 22-24

August 21, 2011DOUBLE CORONAL HOLE: A double-barreled hole has opened up in the sun’s atmosphere and it is spewing a split-stream of solar wind toward Earth. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory captured this composite UV image of the double coronal hole on August 20th. Sky watchers should be alert for auroras when the solar wind arrives on August 22-24. NOAA forecasters estimate a 35% to 50% chance of high-latitude geomagnetic activity. –Space Weather

Solar wind due to arrive 22 August. We have two 7.0’s on 21 August. I have actually noticed big quakes happening before the due date before but thought it was just coincidental. Can’t remember what, but something happened in space (planetary or otherwise) a day or two before or after the Japan 9.0.

Don’t think the quakes are anything to do with outside forces. Mother earth herself is responsible as she is birthing into a star very soon

What is a coronal hole…we know about sunspots which are hot and bright..a hole appears dark and what is different about its radiation compared to the sunspot output?

    • Coronal holes are dark, and somewhat cooler regions of the Sun. They are the perforation points on the solar surface where both magnetic lines protrude and where solar winds are accelerated at twice the normal speed of 400 km per second from the Sun’s surface.

happens on my birthday- what a downer! So is that why the sky is pink tonight? Has any of you read the Mayan prophesies? They say- according to their mathematical calculations that this is our 5th- and final sun. There must be some facts to it, as our yearly calendar is based on one of their two calendars. And where has all the morning and evening birdsong gone?????
