Monster typhoon expected to slam into south Japan next week

July 13, 2011TOKYOTyphoon Ma-On – Still in the midst of its long recovery from the earthquakes and tsunami of early March, Japan must now keep a watchful eye on typhoon Ma-on, rapidly intensifying in the western Pacific. The storm could impact the disaster-ravaged country early next week. The Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) reports this morning that Ma-on, about 655 east-southeast of Iwo-Jima, has shown “steadily improving organization” over the past six hours, with convection “consolidating around the core” and the emergence of an eye. The storm’s current peak winds are 75 mph, equivalent to category 1 hurricane. The storm is expected to remain within a tropical airmass with low wind shear and warm sea surface temperatures as it continues west through the northern Philippines Sea. Consequently, significant intensification is forecast over the next 72 hours, with peak winds predicted to reach 125 mph by Saturday morning, equivalent to a category 3 hurricane. JTWC cautions there is no reason to expect significant weakening until the storm makes landfall. Exactly where the storm comes ashore is uncertain this far out, but the official JTWC forecast brings Ma-on in the vicinity of southern Japan Monday or Tuesday of next week. AccuWeather says the storm could bring destructive winds to Japan’s southern coasts and 10 to 20 inches of rain. –Washington Post

Alvin and others, I read a comment from somebody on another site saying to another person that not one prophecy in all juman history has been fulfilled! I couldn’t believe what I had read. Between all these earth changes that seem to be worsening daily and the reports of military and FEMA buildup on the coasts what more do you want?! Then again Jesus warned about this. This same person said she needed to step back into the real world. Wow. Yeah a world where our governments lie to us all the time. Apparently they need a dose of the scripture that talks about the fate of liars.

Maybe that was the case here.

Brandon sounds like that person is in denial or is fearful and people say such things when they are afraid and when they aren’t in control of what is happening though none of us have control of what happens some people don’t like when people hold up a mirror and show them a glimpse of what is happening in the world. They will continue to deny and deny until the Truth has entered into their hearts.

WOW, how could anyone not believe that ALL prophecies of the Bible have all been fullfilled up to this point in history with more to come and they have been and will be 100% true. Not close or almost, but exactly 100% true. God does not lie, all prophecies have not been fullfilled but they will be. Watch for some major events this September when the UN and the Palestinians try to divide Jerusalem and Israel with obama leading the charge, the U.S. could be devastated because of obama wanting to divide Israel, it could be by terrorist attacks or hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, tornadoes or however God wants to do it. But because of obama wanting to help destroy Israel America will be devastated, some major cities could be wiped out, not every city or state will be hit but there will be no doubt that God Himself showed us his power and disapproval of attempts to divide Israel. God still is in control of everything.

Seems to me that it’s a case of “eyes to see and ears to hear” – many people, during these times, are so threatened by these changes that even with evidence staring them in the face, they will not see.

Wow Brandon! Did you comment to her ? It probably would have been a frivolous effort that would of been taken with a grain of salt.

I find that many people find more comfort in the world than real comfort in the birth pangs spoken of by Jesus Christ. What an irony….

Soon ALL will be calling on the Lord and from his own mouth will be heard ” I never knew You ”

I sure hope he remembers me as minute as I am on a cosmic scale 🙂

Brandon, that person sounds like they have never heard of the Bible let alone prophecy. You can only pray that people like that will eventually open their minds and their hearts.

My own sister has not missed a Sunday at church in at least 40 years and firmly insists that the second coming is at least 30 years away. She will not listen to anything I tell her and insists that one must be prepared spiritually and she would rather not know what is happening to the earth.
How long will she stay spiritually intact when she gets caught out unprepared with food etc.

Have you read the Ancient Holy Bible? You don’t have to have a religion..read it and God will be there. He will direct your path. Read the gospels and see what the divine “son” Jesus taught and demonstrated. He came to show us the right way of living and to become a sacrifice for the brokeness that occured in the beginning. My friend and others…read the book and see what happens …it will change your life..supernaturally!!! It will open your eyes to “GLORY”. You don’t need a religious sect to intrepret…God will reveal himself to you. I encourage you to search out the truth for yourself…seek him and he will reveal himself to you. If you are drawn…then don’t delay…don’t regret when it all comes down the tube…do it today…

I am running into alot of naysayers reporting…we don’t know the day of the Lord…well
with that being said, The divine Lord said in his word – …when the fig leaves have appeared ..know that summer is near..It will be as in the days of Noah…and keep your lamps trimmed and burning…as a thief in the night comes so he will come…..be wise as a serpent!!! These are just a few reasons why we are to watch closely… to be ready.

We are to be wise and ready at all times, we are to watch and know the signs…to be prepared…we are to be wise. The serpent waits studies the situation then makes a decison. We are to be wise.

The person who told the other person that non of prophesies were fullfilled is blind. How sad she hasn’t a clue as to what is happening. This is ingnorance on her part, She misses the JOY of sensing the return of the Lord…

We are standing strong and we as the children of God will finish the race!!! We are children of a divine KIng that created everthing. Shall we stand then? Yes…let us meet at the finish line and in love assist those that are suffering and without the knowledge bestowed upon us.

Much Love – in Christ ~~~Kim

Meh, people have been saying that the Bible’s prophecies have been coming true ever since they were written. I would like to see a list of any prophecies that anyone thinks have come true and I’ll find another period in history where the exact same things happened. There is no End Times, it’s a complete fallacy but fear-mongerers will happily keep you afraid and believing that you have no control over your own destiny (individually and collectively).

“Soon ALL will be calling on the Lord and from his own mouth will be heard ” I never knew You ” ”

You think an omnipresent, all-knowing entity with boundless and unconditional love would ever turn away any soul? This is just one of many issues I have with Christians and Christianity. God is God. God is not YOUR God (which is another fallacy inate in Christianity left over from its Jewish roots). There can only be one Creator, and he loves all equally, and the path to him is not just via Jesus Christ, there are many roads. The “My God is better than your God” attitude has suppressed humanity since the dawn of time and I really hope religion implodes with the Earth and pure spirituality will replace it.

      Hey Logman,

Thanks for sharing your point of view. I used to struggle with religion as well. Often it’s used as a constant manipulation of our shortcomings and a mis representation of who we are at our core being and For some Priests or Pastors a platform to assert their arrogance and also reap financial benefits.

As a Christian I too have fallen in a state of arrogance from time to time and i have many
flaws. The creator YHWH is flawless and all loving.

I don’t believe my self to be religious at all, but spiritual in Christ. I do believe the bible is the infallible word of God.

I have much love for my Brothers and Sisters and even those who do not believe as I do. That is there choice but it doesn’t give me the right to treat them with Judgement or disrespect. We are told to love our neighbors as ourselves. I stay away from Christians that judge those who have not come to salvation in Christ.

To list prophecies that have been fulfilled would take hours and YES history does repeat itself.

      Ecclesiastes 1:9 (NASB)
That which has been is that which will be, And that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is NOTHING NEW UNDER THE
      SUN.

In Reference to my comment about “Soon ALL will be calling on the name of the Lord and from his own mouth will be I never knew you” was for those with an ear …. It’s from the Parable of the Ten Virgins In which I interpret as being full of the spirit and prepared….

      Matthew 25:1-13 (NASB)
“Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. [2] “Five of them were foolish, and five were prudent. [3] “For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, [4] but the prudent took oil in flasks along with their lamps. [5] “Now while the bridegroom was delaying, they all got drowsy and began to sleep. [6] “But at midnight there was a shout, ”Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.” [7] “Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. [8] “The foolish said to the prudent, ”Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.” [9] “But the prudent answered, ”No, there will not be enough for us and you too; go instead to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.” [10] “And while they were going away to make the purchase, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut. [11] “Later the other virgins also came, saying, ”Lord, lord, open up for us.” [12] “But he answered, ”TRULY I SAY to YOU I DO NOT KNOW YOU.” [13] “BE ON THE ALERT THEN, FOR YOU DO NOT KNOW THE DAY NOR THE HOUR.

Thanks again Logman and may your ride be smooth 🙂

        My last comment here.

YHWH was the Hebrew god of war, just one of a few Gods we know about that they worshipped (others were Baal, god of fertility and Asherah). YHWH was worshipped heavily during times of strife (Exodus, Babylonian exile). The Jews had sects for all gods and King Josiah in 600 BCE was “Yahwist”. It was at this time Deuteronomy was written (forged) and Josiah enforced YHWH as the only God. This was the birth of monotheism. And thus, the God Of War had dominion over the human race.

Religion needs an upgrade. Why cling to 2,500 year old beliefs when we have the knowledge and intellect to know more than a few Bedouin tribesmen? This is not arrogance, it is progress and intelligence. I encourage people to really study their biblical history. I know it’s a fruitless task to debate the nature of God and Jesus with Christians as enlightenment can only come from a desire to seek knowledge.

“Why Christianity Must Change Or Die” – by the Episcopal Bishop of Newark, John Shelby Spong is a good start.

“Who Wrote the New Testament?” – by Burton Mack describes early Christianity and “A History Of God” by Karen Armstrong shows how the Hebrews went from polytheism to monotheism and deconstructs the Old Testament into 5 interpolating authors identified by the type of ancient Hebrew used and how it was written to reflect their political standings and beliefs. The Bible is not a mystery, it has been deconstructed meticulously and no-one can argue that it is the Word Of God without being intellectually and morraly bankrupt.

Challenge your beliefs and if they stand up to the challenge then they are beliefs worth holding onto. By not challenging beliefs we hold ourselves back from developing as human beings. To think that your beliefs are so pure or so valid that they need not be challenged is naiive in the extreme. To think like this would be to live in a world that is flat and one wherethe Sun revovled around us. I challenged my beliefs and I found and overwhelming amount of evidence to shatter all those believes that were just pre-conceived notions, societal and generational programming. I’m still the same person, I still believe in God, just not a theistic God and it has freed me. No longer do I fear God, no longer do I scratch my head at the contradictions and hypocrisy in the Bible, no longer do I believe the world is going to end because someone made up a story 1800 years ago, no longer do I have the arrogance that MY way is the ONLY way to God.

Thank you for your posts, Alvin, and your willingness to allow discussion on your blog. I wish you all the best.

    • Logman says:

Brandon, no-one can deny that the planet is changing. Throughout history the planet has changed and this is no different. The planet goes through Ice Ages, perpetual winters caused by super-volcanoes, extinction events from asteroids and so on. Right now the planet is warming and this is causing weather changes and we don’t know enough about vulcanism and tectonics to say that they aren’t being affected by teh same thing that is warming the Earth. This warming could be our planet’s response to our global consciousness which is corrupt and decadent as a whole. Two millenia of progress and we are still at each other’s throats, still at war, still hating on our neighbours, and controlled and manipulated by democratic dictatorships and religions that veered far from their original messages.

Or the solar system could be entering a new, charged area of the galaxy as it orbits around the galactic center. This could also be the reason for the changes on many of the other planets. There is no logical basis for believing in the End of the World. The only danger lies in human fallacy, namely certain powerful governments believing in End Times and believing that they need to do certain things to bring fruition to prophecy. And with Israel being who they are and with the Zionists being in full control of the US this “self-fullf
illing prophecy” outcome is a startling possibility. Whatever happens, I don’t believe that after 4.5 billion years God is going to call it quits and destroy this beautiful planet due to some mythical Judgement that exists purely as a control mechanism in all religion.

I grew up in a strict Catholic family but at some point I was able to detach myself from the generational programming and think hard about the nature of God and the Earth. I wish more people would do the same. God is love, not fear, rage and jealousy. Peace.

People are blindly frightened worldwide & that fear is breeding denial – just another coping mechanism for the unenlightened. They feel that something isn’t right, every dulled instinct is moaning at them but still they don’t, won’t or simply just can’t listen. How sad, how painful it is for them but they will constantly throw up all kinds of walls & arguments to contradict Truth. The Once Born have forever been this way. It takes much love, patience & discipline – over many lifetimes – to develop these senses that bless us with this knowledge – something they are sadly & ultimately tragically lacking in.

Pagan, so if people are frightened, they are denying what exactly? Fear does not breed denial, that’s ridiculous Denial comes from reasoning and the way you reason is influenced by many factors, and fear is not one of them. But you know the Truth, through many lifetimes of study. Hat tip to you, sir, we are humble in the shadow of your knowledge.

Logman – I will use the typical horror movie scenario ok? I’ll use the creepy dark house with menacing shadows & things that go bump in the night as a simple comparison. We sit safely in a movie theatre watching as the characters feel that something is just not kosher, that something is seriously out of whack. Maybe they see things out of the corner of their eye or their hackles become raised for some reason. Maybe they’ve heard unsettling or sinister stories about this house. They instinctively know something is just not right & as the truth is revealed they become fearful but deny the danger – they stay in the house or enter the room they shouldnt & are usually doomed. Fear will always breed denial – it is in many humans an automatic & unavoidable instinct.

As the great author Richard Bach quoted:
“The worst lies are the lies we tell ourselves. We live in denial of what we do, even what we think. We do this because we’re afraid. We fear we will not find love, and when we find it we fear we’ll lose it. We fear that if we do not have love we will be unhappy.”

Just for the record – I am not a Sir.

However no matter how kind I am or how loving my words are once I mention I follow Christ eyes narrow and words spew hatred. I am used to it by now but it hurts they throw stones at Christ I just want to add don’t judge us all by your experience in the Catholic faith. I don’t follow any sect of Christianity I just follow Christ. No one said you had to follow Christians or a certain sect there are many false out there who do lead people astray but many that are kind, loving who are out there in the world loving and giving in the name of Christ.
