Scarlet fever outbreak in Hong Kong linked to virulent new strain

June 25, 2011HONG KONG – Hong Kong health authorities on Thursday confirmed that a five-year-old boy had died from scarlet fever, the second death in the southern Chinese city as dozens of new cases were reported. The number of infections in the territory has soared above 500, according to health authorities, who said that more than 9,000 people had been infected in the Chinese mainland — doubling the average figure in recent years. Local scientists said the outbreak may be linked to a deadly new strain of the disease which could make it more contagious than before. It was discovered by researchers at the University of Hong Kong and appears to be resistant to antibiotics traditionally used to fight the illness. “Test results showed that the five-year-old boy who died on Tuesday is confirmed to have suffered from scarlet fever,” a spokeswoman from the Centre for Health Protection told AFP. The test result was released late Wednesday. The second fatality comes after the illness, which mainly affects children aged between two and eight, claimed the life of a seven-year-old girl last month. It was the first recorded death in the city in at least a decade, according to the Centre for Health Protection. The government said Tuesday that the boy, who had chicken pox prior to his death, was “very likely” a victim of scarlet fever, after declaring an outbreak of the disease in the city of seven million. –Terra Daily

My 6 yr old son had scarlet fever last summer – he was really sick. Then I caught the strep from him and it came back 3 times – finally after 3 months of fighting it, and 4 rounds of antibiotics I finally kicked it. I definitely think diseases are getting more virulent.

    Dear Sheila,
I think, that the normal strains of these deseases in german called “Kinderkrankheiten”,which mostly occur in childhood are necessary in the development of little man, like Rudolf Steiner describes it: “The soul is growing in the body”.
My daughter is not vaccinated anyway. She had chickenpox and scarlet fever. No problem, just a few days and homöopatic treatment, that´s it.
What is getting worse in my opinion is loosing our ability to handle these germs properly because of lacking imunsystems.
And this is created with antibiotics, bad food, vaccinations, radiation and other enviormental reasons.
Did you do a gut reconstruction after the antibiotics? Did your Doktor tell you to do so? If not, your bodies systems is now distorted any any kind of germ will have a comfortable place to be in 🙂
Remember, their clue is to bring the population dowm to 500 mil. people and they are working on this in many parts.
What really concern me, are the laboratoy made ones like the EHEC we have over here in gemany and I also think that the one that is written about in the article are biowarfare.

Katrin, Is “gut reconstruction” the use of probiotics, as found in yogurt? I have never heard that term before. Kathy

Scarlet Fever is quite dangerous too if it is not treated at an earlier time. High fever can really damage the body. `.”,,
