Blood red moon of lunar eclipse seen around the world

June 16, 2011 – SYDNEY — Asian and African night owls were treated to a lunar eclipse, and ash in the atmosphere from a Chilean volcano turned it blood red for some viewers. The Sydney Observatory said the eclipse was to begin at 3:25 a.m. Thursday (1:25 p.m. EDT, 5:25 p.m. GMT Wednesday) and last until after 5 a.m. Scientists said the specific phenomenon happening Thursday — known as a “deep lunar eclipse” — often exudes a coppery color. But the intensity of the color depends on the amount of ash and dust in the atmosphere. Luckily for moon-gazers, there was plenty of ash in the air so the moon appeared orange or red, especially in Asia. Air travelers haven’t been so lucky: The ash has grounded hundreds of flights around the region. Scientists said the eclipse could be safely observed with the naked eye. –CTV

      We saw a bloodred new moon on the 5th of August in Santorini, Greece. I don’t find any reports on this. Anyone?

    Joel 2:30 says “I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke”
    so the wonders in the heavens the blood red moon and the and fire and smoke could be the volcanic eruptions…

    Alvin, I have ordered your book online and so far have only read the index and other bits and pieces they let you see before you buy. I haven’t received it yet but I am intrigued by the contents page. I also am intrigued by your choice of the word ‘protocol’ in the title. Why protocol? It seems to suggest that free will cannot make any difference to the outcome. None of the reviews I have seen explains this unless it is in your preface. It isn’t often that you get to query an author about their title. Hope you can enlighten me.

      The protocol is where one process slowly unravels the next or a sudden catastrophic events leads to such a degradation of the natural ecology that life becomes unsustainable. It not only suggests a positive feed-back in the biosphere; it also suggests a Rubicon threshold that if breached, would lead to extinction. Pull enough strands and the web of life itself begins to unravel as many biological and geological systems function through the principle of interdependency.

    As a woman, I feel strongly connected to the moon. I looked outside tonight and it was almost full with a yellow tint to it. It’s amazing to see what night becomes like without the luminescence of her beauty.

    Isn’t there something about blood moon a warning to Israel or maybe it was that every time there was a lunar eclipse that was red over Israel they had a war or something that followed. Not sure but I did read about it once.

    I saw the blood red moon by the ocean in Ocean City, Maryland on June 17th. Why are people saying that North America was unable to see this? I clearly saw it and it was awesome!

    i saw the Moon blood red color one time years ago just as it was coming up the horizon around nine’o clock it was full, my friend could not believe that was the Moon not the Sun . as it was getting higher up the sky it changed to white color. this happened in Boston, Ma.
