June 7, 2011 – CHILE – Flames reach up to the heavens as lightning flashes criss-cross the sky. These extraordinary images show the full force of Mother Nature as a Chilean volcano erupts for the first time in 50 years. Ash has been thrown six miles up into the sky and the South American government has ordered the evacuation of thousands of residents. Winds fanned the ash toward neighboring Argentina, darkening the sky in the ski resort city of San Carlos de Bariloche, in the centre of the country, and its airport has also been closed. The eruption in the Puyehue-Cordon Caulle volcanic chain, about 575 miles south of the capital, Santiago, also prompted authorities to close a busy border crossing into Argentina. It was not immediately clear which of the chain’s four volcanoes had erupted because of ash cover and weather conditions. The chain last saw a major eruption in 1960. Local media said the smell of sulphur hung in the air and there was constant seismic activity. ‘The Cordon Caulle (volcanic range) has entered an eruptive process, with an explosion resulting in a 10-kilometre-high gas column,’ the state emergency office ONEMI said. This development is the latest volcanic activity to affect the country. Three years ago, Chile’s Chaiten volcano erupted spectacularly for the first time in thousands of years, spewing molten rock and a vast cloud of ash that reached the stratosphere and was visible from space. –Daily Mail

Yikes! Imagine being the one taking that photo! I heard the word VOLCANO a few days later I heard MISSILE, then a few weeks later I heard EARTHQUAKE. The increase in all of these has been since with more to come.

This picture with dark and thick clouds, lightnings all over, is what the reality is about to be all over the world soon. Age of darkness, ice age, whatever, we need to prepare our soul and believe that a new world will come out from ashes. Peace to all…

Superb photos. They do a wonderful job of conveying the raw power and enormity of this eruption. It will be interesting to see how long this event lasts. With the ash plume being blasted 30,000+ feet into the air, this could have an impact on a huge area if the eruption lasts for a while.

Well, earth’s contractions are getting WORSE! How dialated is she now I wonder?! I get sad when I realize how CLOSE we are to the Tribulation Period! Jesus said that so much of life would die that if God does not shorten the days NOBODY will survive! Alvin, grief is showing up in me. How much time do we have? Are we really getting closer to this Extinction Level Event? I can’t believe this is almost it for us. It’s almost as if God has developed disdain for us. Am I the only one with these feelings?

Brandon, there is no need for despair. What can separate us from the love of God in Christ Paul asks, shall tribulation, distress, peril or the sword? Nothing can. Romans 8:35. Christ paid the ultimate price for man on Calvary to ransom the human race from sin and unite Earth back into the heavenly family. We should not stare into the crisis with full attention but through faith, look beyond it. If we seek love and fashion ourselves to wear its beauty- others will be drawn inside our circle of caring but we must turn outside ourselves to embrace something larger. In the beauty of nature, in love, in sensing the Creator’s ever-abiding presence with us, we find well-springs of joy and the captivity of gloom around the soul is turned to gladness. What time is available to us should be spent garnishing and trimming our lamps before the arrival of the bridge-groom. We cannot stop what’s coming but we can stop worrying about it. May I suggest that you remove yourself from the news and take some leisure to recharge your batteries and enjoy life.

This could end up being just as devastating as the Japanese Tsunami.
I can understand the awe of nature these photos portray but I would call it nothing more than horrific.
It would be very sad indeed if thousands died, as did in the Japanese Tsunami. ‘Exquisite!!! Oh wow!’ … I’m not sure the people of Chile or Japan would agree.
I am not from Chile or Japan, and neither are any loved ones in any danger from this, let’s hope no one else has to go thru the trauma of these ‘horrific’ things.
Flowers are beautiful and exquisite, so is Life. Grab and hold onto Life and wish well those more unfortunate than us.

Yes Brandon, like Alvin said, do not despair, do not grieve. Enjoy each day as it comes. Take a walk in the park, look at the trees, look at the flowers, look at the birds, gaze up at the stars in the sky at night. You will see things you never noticed before. You will feel peace within you. Use that peace to comfort someone who is worse off than you. In return you will feel comforted. Listen to someone who needs someone to talk to and in return someone will listen to you. Help someone who needs help. Your heart will be filled with joy.

Puyehue volcano ash closed air traffic in South America
Besides the six Argentine airports closed inside the country, the terminal in Buenos Aires at least 30 flights canceled. With the decline of services from Brazil and Paraguay, the airspace of the region is virtually closed
Brazilian and Paraguayan airline confirmed the suspension of flights to Buenos Aires. From San Pablo Airport, confirmed that Infobae.com flights to Argentina’s capital were canceled. In addition, the newspaper Ultima Hora announced that Silvio Pettirossi International Airport also canceled “temporary” flight. Prevention is at the risk of presence of Puyehue volcano ash.

Grimsvotn Iceland eruption ash cloud. On May 26 A_lad and Golfdad641 said they saw faces.
I was just looking at the beautiful lightning shot above again and could not believe my eyes. At the top on left a moth or butterfly with feelers. Under the left wing I see 3 faces. Where the lightning reaches the ash cloud there is a face looking to the ash cloud. Right next to that face is another one looking slightly upwards. Their noses almost touch. He has his arms folded and his feet are in the fire.
On the left the little lightning in the center looks like a woman walking towards the men, her head glowing, her arm reaching out before her and her hair trailing behind. Down the bottom looks like a horse, its head glowing, walking or running towards the left.
On the right the top lightning looks like an angel, her head and feet glowing, leaning forwards towards the ash cloud, her left arm outstretched, her right arm reaching over to the ash cloud. In the lighter ash cloud there seems to be more faces. Down lower on the edge of the ash cloud it looks like sheeps head.
