Volcanic chaos spreads- skies over Argentina turn to night

June 4, 2011SANTIAGO (Reuters) – A volcano dormant for decades erupted in south-central Chile Saturday, belching ash over 6 miles into the sky and prompting the government to evacuate several thousand residents, authorities said. Winds fanned the ash toward neighboring Argentina, darkening the sky in the ski resort city of San Carlos de Bariloche, a government official there said, adding the city’s airport had been closed. The eruption in the Puyehue-Cordon Caulle volcanic chain, about 575 miles south of the capital, Santiago, also prompted Chilean authorities to shut a heavily traveled border crossing into Argentina. It was not immediately clear which of the chain’s four volcanoes had erupted because of ash cover and weather conditions. The chain last saw a major eruption in 1960. Local media said the smell of sulfur hung in the air and there was constant seismic activity. “The Cordon Caulle (volcanic range) has entered an eruptive process, with an explosion resulting in a 10-kilometre-high gas column,” state emergency office ONEMI said. The government said it was evacuating 3,500 people from the surrounding area as a precaution. It was the latest in a series of volcanic eruptions in Chile in recent years. Chile’s Chaiten volcano erupted spectacularly in 2008 for the first time in thousands of years, spewing molten rock and a vast cloud of ash that reached the stratosphere. The ash also swelled a nearby river and ravaged a nearby town of the same name. The ash cloud from Chaiten coated towns in Argentina and was visible from space. –Reuters

It seems like these eruptions are really catching everyone off-guard. Any thoughts on yellowstone? Keep up the great work! When it’s all said and done you will be known as one of the “watchers on the wall”.

    • Thanks Jake. The lithosphere vents heat to keep the planet’s crust from basically fracturing and splitting apart. In 2010, we saw the most volcanic eruptions in recorded history and still the thermal depressurization threshold of the planet’s land surface was not reached, as new volcanoes are now erupting in 2011 that did not erupt in 2010. This is telling us a most important piece of information- there are not enough terrestrial volcanoes on land erupting to equilibrate the escalating geological pressures now unsettling the ground. Since the volcanoes under the ocean are pressurized by ocean depths- in my opinion, this increases the likelihood more and more with each eruption, that a larger-scale eruption becomes necessary to stop this runaway process. We may be years away from seeing one or several super-volcanic eruption occur if this is a linear entropic process as I hypothesize it is. In any event, this chain of eruptions will continue and will intensify.

  2. Revelation 9:2 / And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

The volcanic activity currently being witnessed around the globe is not a fulfillment of the above scripture but it is a foreshadowing of it.

I agree. Thanks, once again, Alvin for the great information. Your book and this site are the only places we can get pertinant and on going information.

Seems we are having a new eruption almost daily? Just last week there has been Chile, Kamchakta, Iceland, Mexico, Vanuatu with activity in Indonesia and Hawaii plus the mud volcanos in Vietnam?

    Madness.

Madness indeed. I keep forgetting it’s only Spring because of the heat wave I’m experiencing too hot just too hot. No wonder there are wildfires everywhere. Always praying for the suffering

Alvin, do you know anything about Vilama-Caldera or Lazufre? They are supervolcanoes on the Chile-Argentinia border region! I’ve read some articles from 2009 about them but there are no younger informations!

“…particularly troubling experts is the fact, that the earlier eruption of the Puyehue Volcano caused eruptions of other volcanoes, as documented in 1790- after the eruption of Puyehue Volcano, began erupting Lyayma volcano. A seismic activity near Lyayma volcano, located in southern Chile, according to the National service of Geology and Mining of Chile- again increasing…”

Keep Taal Volcano in mind, while not as large as Yellowstone, I believe it could be classified as a super volcano. There was just recently a fish kill in Lake Taal of 800 tons of farmed fish. It was blamed, by the Bureau of Fishers and Aquatic Resources, on a decrease in dissolved oxygen caused by rain???? How absurd.

All these volcanoes becoming active in a very short time. One of the world’s most powerful and hidden before our very eyes pieces of technology, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is active. What if anything, does the LHC have to do with all this? Some have read the scriptures in the Bible, but God never says that he will cause these events. The other one now has the technology to cause destruction and deception on a scale never before seen.

      God says this:
“I will sweep away everything from the face of the earth
      declares the Lord.
      I will sweep away both men and animals;
I will sweep away the birds of the air and the fish of the sea.
The wicked will have only heaps of rubble
when I cut off man from the face of the earth
      declares the Lord. “(Zephaniah 1:2)

      God also said:
“The great day of the Lord is near-
      near and coming quickly.
Listen! The cry on the day of the Lord will be bitter,
and the shouting of the warrior there.
That day will be a day ofwrath,
a day of distress and anguish,
a day of trouble and ruin,
a day of darkness and gloom,
a day of clouds and blackness,
      (Zephaniah 1:14-15)
