WEEKEND AURORAS: A solar wind stream hit Earth’s magnetic field on May 28th, sparking a G2-class geomagnetic storm and bright auroras at high latitudes. “In the Alberta prairies east of Edmonton, it looked like it was raining auroras,” reports photographer Zoltan Kenwell. “Blues, purples, and greens were all over the place.” Both ends of the Earth were affected. People saw auroras in Tasmania, New Zealand, Antarctica, Wisconsin and Minnesota. The solar wind is still blowing strong on May 30th, prompting NOAA forecasters to estimate a 35% chance of more geomagnetic activity in the next 24 hours. Sunspots are popping up across the solar disk. NOAA forecasters estimate a 40% chance of M-class solar flares during the next 24 hours. –Space Weather

Not this one but future more powerful ones could. Protons are postively charged particles that are accelerated by an explosive event from the Sun such as a CME or powerful flare. This is called a solar proton event or SPE. Protons events disrupt earth’s magnetic field. This change in the magnetic field can lead to back-currents in power lines that have caused power failures like the one in Montreal in 1989. NASA monitors the disruption to the planet’s magnetic field through the Geomagnetic Equatorial DST index. In addition, geomagnetic storms can lead to ionization of the planet’s atmosphere in aurora burst that can disrupt radio, neutralize electric fields, and satellite communications. NASA ranks geomagnetic storms on its space weather page and also includes the proton density counts as listed with solar wind velocities. The higher the proton density count; the more potentially damaging these storms could be.

No. There is no harm from this event and such events do have an effect on the planet’s weather- they are just little understood. What we do know is that we live in an electric universe for the most part and a few years after one of the worst geomagnetic storms struck Earth during the Carrington event of 1859- California experienced the Ark Storms. Beginning on Christmas Eve, 1861, and continuing into early 1862, an extreme series of storms lasting 45 days struck California. It was the worst series of storms in California’s history and ended up bankrupting the state. With solar activity rising approaching the new maximum (2012-2013), the threat has now resurfaced…

Not only is sunspot activity increasing to a solar maximum but the solar system itself is coming into alignment with the black hole at the center of the Milky Way. This happens every 26,000 or so years and is known to indigenous peoples as the end of the Great Year or the great Cycle. This will also put great stresses on the earth and the other planets and since no one in human history has ever witnessed this, we have no idea what the effects will be. I think we are seeing a preview now.
In addition, 3 major earthquakes – the one in Japan, in Chile last year and in China in 2004- pushed the earth’s axis slightly off it’s usual 23 degrees – the one in Japan reportedly shortened the day by a millisecond.
Unlike the event of 1859, we are so dependent on technology, that this one will change our way of life completely, affecting electrical grids, satellites, GPS, travel (gas pumps won’t work), hospital equipment, etc. It would be good to prepare for this as best we can.

Alvin, I have a big request. If you (or others posting on EP) happen to have a statistical report on major natural disasters broken down by year, country, etc., it would be great to see it posted. It would helpful to show the records to skeptics and those tetering on the fence. Some are so close to realizing what you and some us are trying to explain.
Can hardly wait to see how God is going to use you and others to enlighten those that are searching for answers.

It will do no good JG, and neither will they be persuaded though one rose from the dead. The world will ultimately be divided into two groups and though the numbers will shift between the two; their object of contention will become more poignant and divisive with time as this crisis deepens upon the Earth. a) These events are cyclical and it is only time and events repeating themselves and we can change the outcome by changing ourselves or b). The catastrophic episodes are events on the linear arrow of time and are moving towards ultimate catastrophe and therefore requires an intervention by the Creator to save what’s left of the human race. I have written of this in my book…so when it comes to pass, you will remember I spoke of it.

Alvin I thought about that very scripture (Luke 16:31) before I posted. Sadly, some do have their minds set already and nothing and no one will change them.
But, there are those that there is still hope for. Some have posted on EP & said they are now becoming less skeptical and starting to realize there may be something to this after all. I was just thinking a little more information wouldn’t hurt.
Also, there are professing Christians that do not study the signs. They do not realize how close Christ’s return may be and don’t seem understand the urgency of telling others the importance of preparing their hearts now.

Alvin, can you tell me what will happen to solar panels (that can be disengaged from the main grid) in the event of a solar flare that blows the main grid. I am wondering if they will be reusable to generate power when the event passes. Do you know anything about this? Thanks

They would sustain damage from a powerful enough geomagnetic storm or EMP blast. I am adding two links to the article about storm intensity and preparing for a solar event.
